What are your thoughts on race and crime statistics in America ? I used to chalk it up to racism within the FBI and the police forces. However the statistics are also backed up by the DOJ

So the common cited stat is that black people commit 50% of violent crimes in the US desptie being only 12% of the population. It might be a bit misleading because that was a longitudal study that is heavily skewed by the crack epidemic, but I've never seen a statistics where it was under twice as much as the percentage of the population.

These margins are simply two wide to chalk up to "racist ass police", If I go out and commit a violent crime I might not be given as much time as a black person, but I'm still going to be arrested.

What is your explanation for all of this?

Here's my attempted explanation:
being over-represented in violent crime does not speak for the entire black race. It doesn't mean they are all criminals, it doesn't mean they are mostly criminals. It doesn't justify racial profiling. I'm willing to judge people by their individual acts and beliefs. HOWEVER, if you INSIST on having a "discussion" on race and racism….you can't ignore these statistics. They play a vital role in why so many white people are still racist today.

Just as you can empathize with why someone who grew up without a father, with no money in a neighborhood filled with gangs might turn to drug dealing to live fast and make money, you have to empathize with this: imagine you are a working class white person. You struggle to make ends meet but you have a job and obey the law. All of the sudden the federal government moves a bunch of section 8 housing into your neighborhood (something they do every 30 or so years with the same shitty ass results) all of the sudden your car gets broken into, your house gets broken into. your neighbor gets held up at gunpoint, your shit gets vandalized. If you merely bring this up you are told to check your muh privilege by a bunch of rich college fucks who don't even live where you do, let alone "the hood." They tell you that you need to be outraged at some guy who was shot by a cop, who looks (and face it sometimes acts) exactly like the people who are fucking up your house, and if you raise any questions you are a racist. Then you see these statistics that conform exactly to your experiences, and you run into people who provide you with a simple 1 word answer to why they are the way they are "…..niggers" to quote KRS One "tell me what the fuck am I supposed to do?" For modern mainstream leftists, this empathy only goes one way: toward poor black people. However if we are going to fix this spook we need to find some way to mend the centuries old rift between poor white people and poor blacks, and that starts with empathizing with the other side.

TL:DR-race is a spook, but it's a pretty spooky one. Especially right now.

It doesn't help that Blacks themselves (at least in Burgerland) are very spooked with their own race to the point that studying at school is looked down because it's a "white thing" , or trying to get allong with Whites is being an "uncle Tom".

Well blacks actually don't use welfare at nearly as great a rate as hasidic jews, immigrants and poor white people, probably because it involves filling out a lot of paperwork. Welfare itself is not the problem. It's a combination of poor family structure, a crabs in the bucket mentality, abject poverty, actual police brutality (see: Tamir Rice, Rekia Boyd, John Crawford, Eric Garner) and being surrounded by crime.

I think the most important thing to remember in a way is that even if it turns out that black people's brains are somehow different to white people's, that they genuinely have more propensity to lower IQ scores or whatever - even if this is true, it makes very little difference.

Firstly; the gap, if it exists, is small. Small enough that black and white people are capable of learning the same language, communicating to each other, and undergoing the same cognitive processes in very many respects. We can share complex language processes like jokes, sarcasm, and metaphor.

Secondly; if the gap exists at all, it applies only in general trends, not iron laws of biology. It is not difficult to find countless anecdotal examples of highly intelligent black people. There are also evidently countless examples of extremely stupid white people.

Thirdly; if the gap exists, it is not only minor and vague in its application, but highly influenced by external factors. None of these studies could ever deny that income and general lived experience account significantly for differences, even studies attempting to demonstrate some racial statistical difference would organize their data by socioeconomic status. Even if biology determines mental capacity, there is absolutely no denying the influence of environment.

All in all, even if Holla Forums is right and black people have a minor general propensity to lower mental capacity than whites, I don't see how this has to affect an idea of a socialist society based on meritocracy and equality in socioeconomic class. That a certain section of the population might be marginally less intelligent than another doesn't matter one bit.

I mean even if it was *JUST* physical differences with no psychological differences though we know many psychological traits, notably mental illnesses, are hereditary, the physical differences would suggest intellectual differences. Cranial capacity for instance differs along racial lines, with Asians having the largest brains followed by whites, with blacks followed by aboriginal australians having the smallest. This correlates pretty well with the average IQ score ranking of these races.

There are patterns of physical differences between races. i.e Africans tend to have black skin, wide noses, coarse black hair, little to no body hair, differently shaped skulls, etc. Why would it make any sense that there would be no consistent differences like that from other races related to the brain?

Considering those are all evolutionary differences, saying that our brains are exactly the same implies evolution does not affect the brain.

Somehow majority white cities tend to have much lower crime rates than majority black cities. Google "safest cities in america" and "most dangerous cities in america", the ones with a high black population are all on the dangerous list and the safest are overwhelmingly white.

Most IQ research is just statistics. Not to dismiss statistics, but i bet there has to be some simple mechanism that underlies the capabilities required to score high on IQ tests and that mechanism, at its neural basis, isn't understood yet. I suppose that the biological basis is very simple and that most of the complexity is generated by nurture instead of nature.
