Brendan Fraser Mummy movies are now canon in the Dark Universe because of Damage control

JUST the REBOOT
i don't know what this means, i don't speak virgin
Why weren't they canon before?
Because making a reboot for the past 15 years or so means for whatever reason, as part of an unspoken Gentleman's Agreement within the film industry, you have to completely delete everything that happened before even if the events of said reboot minimally affect the story or plotline of the original.
Probably the best example of this is James Bond, as it existed in its original format perfectly fine for over 40 years then all of a sudden they felt the need to "reboot it" for Casino Royale despite how the last 6 films (Living Daylights - Die Another Day) is often considered as part of its own chronology, as the concept of a "reboot" simply didn't exist back then.
LOL
It's amazing how stupid Universal is. No one cares about their shitty Dark Universe. They've mistaken meme for reality.
They sure did, dingus. Or are you telling me that wizard of oz, alice in wonderland, and hammer films aren't in their own continuities?
This means that probably the next Mummy movie will be with Brendan
They need the perky Jewess and kid to come back too. The second movie was nice because it's a family, it has an Incredibles feel which is lacking in our godless shitty culture.
Not that user, but I think he means that those things are still valid, but rebooting means "THIS IS THE DEFINITIVE VERSION NOW!!!" Hammer and Universal Monsters both exist in kind of a parallel dimension. It's hard to explain what I mean.
Because for some reason all movie studios think the best way to rival marvel's shit is to make dark gritty movies instead of using what they already have. Like how DC decided to not make their universe with Super Man Returns and the Nolan Batman films. This whole "Dark Universe" could have easily worked if they just did a soft reboot/proper Mummy sequel.
