Posers

If you're using any Linux distro and can't use Perl and Bash, you're a poser.

i can use bash, never even touched perl.

I'm not especially interested in your opinions about scripting languages, but I am curious as to how you time traveled here from the year 1999.

aside from those shiny things in clams that girls put on a necklace or pull out of their butts what is "Perl"

if it has an animal logo do not use it

microwave a banana

...

Python > Perl tbh

this

poser…

if you don't write your code in binary you are a poser

If you have a penis and haven't fucked a 10/10 pornstar, you are a poser.

Logic user. Learn it. Otherwise Linux, Perl, and Bash won't do you a damn bit of good, you will still be a loser.

How about using C++, you dumbasses?

fp > oop

Only hipsters and retards use functional programming languages.

suuuuuuure..

...

Are you telling me shit like Haskell, Python, and Lithp aren't memeshit-languages used by retards and hipsters? I can tell right now you're a retard.

Teach me, Senpai!
t. Linux user who barely knows either.

Fuck off, Terry!

Do you not have a search engine, friend?

That's some serious lèse-majesté, my friend.

What would you say are the greatest benefits of oop? I'd say it's easy to understand because it's built around objects rather than logic, but I'm sure you disagree.

I'd agree with you, and say that OOP is better, on the fact that it is based on objects rather than logic. In my humble opinion, OOP is better for larger projects like gaems and most OSes, where organization based on objects is more convenient and useful, whereas functional programming seems to me to be useful only for small, relatively unimportant programming. If functional programming actually has uses that can rival what OOP languages can do, please illuminate me.

Things that aren't heavily IO dependant probably, so yeah maybe not OSes or Games. But due to composition and easy parallelization it's very useful for things like AI or deep learning for instance. The future will be a mixture of both anyway, Java and C++ are adapting FP concepts more and more and understanding the concept will improve your programming skills.

Unless you're the only one working on a project why would you ever use fp?

Yes, he's right and you're retarded.

Prove it.

Why would you not?

no u

In what way am I retarded? Functional programming is objectively inferior to object-oriented programming.

Heiled tbh

You are the only one here calling other people retarded for their preferences

COBOL and FORTRAN are the only languages worth learning desu.

I see you've never used Rust.

Your fetish is shit and prove Rust is better

guaranteed
memory
safety

tbh i just use scratch for everything
all y'all faggots are posers and losers who can't bother to learn a real programming language

They run all kernel in Jinuxscript. It's kernel in browser, so you don't need OS anymore. Intel has hardware JIT Jinuxscript compiler by cianiggers. Mozilla and Google are the only ones who can make Jinuxscript browser, because it runs in ring -6 and gets compiled to whitespace. If you try to attach debugger you get snowcrash!
I know someone who made Visual BASIC kernel to inject into Intel and fight their codes. Every time his source code gets deleted and replaced with hacked WUMPUS.COM so you can't win!
Hey look it's time to SHOOT THE MOON!

perl -le 'print qw*Just another hackette herp derp.*'

VM28975?

gn(*&@6y8u@^>@^i87POIJZ

#!/usr/bin/perl

_10: print "Hello world!\n";
_20: goto _10;

...

low effort bait tbqh.
bash is only useful for trivial one liners, because otherwise it becomes write-only code very soon. (in that case, well, I can and do use it)
and perl has literally no point when you have Python 3.

kek

not until all unsoundness bugs are fixed, look at them, they are kinda funny.

[laughs in regex]

ThIs

So what? Regex can be used from any reasonable language.

Yeah but it's more trouble in other languages. Perl and sed make it the easiest to deal with. There's less boilerplate code. Although in sed you often have to escape (with backslashes) shell metacharacters, so that's kind of annoying.

Nice meme, my friend.

Real programmers use assembly. All the bloat in higher level languages is unnecessary if you actually know what you're doing. As long as you follow all the latest best practices and know what you're doing, you can write perfectly memory-safe and thread-safe code in assembly.

Oh man, that is one of the greatest webm i've seen in a while. I knew it was coming, but i still lost it.
I almost soiled myself when i read "We even bought an .io domain for it" Whoever created it is a true artist. Amazing script, amazing editing. Saved.

I'm actually thinking about using NASM or some other equivalent cross-platform assembler in combination with C++, like what id Software used to do with Wolf3D, Doom and Quake.

El Risitas never gets old tbh.

I have zero trouble with it in Python 3.

this.

We're back to 2008 ladies and gents
Post some troll face and demotivations

Python is not present on most distros by default. Perl and Bash are on 99.9% of them.

How are you defining "most distros"? Python is certainly present on the overwhelming majority of home linux installations. You're only right if you're treating the thousands of obscure distros with 10 users each as equivalent to major distros like debian.

Anyway, python is trivial to install on any linux system regardless of whether it comes installed by default.
