There are reasons to be hopeful about his posturing. I read a few guardian pieces during the Chinese stock market crash that suggested the China had reached the limit of what it could accomplish via industrialization and needed to move to a services-based (read: consumerist) economy.

I would like to believe that the Chinese are going to come through for the big socialist win but they seem too pork-infested to start moving towards actual socialism. 1) that's dumb all by itself. Chinese iPhones are still made by underpaid workers in 12-hour shifts. Industrialization only begun in China (and throughout the world; I don't know why some people think Industrial Revolution had ended).
