In the US is you remember the old white nationalist movement it was full of FBI informants. Same with the Patriot movement. Several years ago 4chan exposed Hal Turner as a FBI informant and all he did was run a radio show complaining about non whites.
You can be guaranteed that FBI informants are already in the midst of what's called the alt right and in the midst of Holla Forums. FBI informants will pressure you to do something which will lead to your arrest so they can attempt to turn you into an informant to expand their network. Turning informants is like a virus that takes over a host. The FBI brings in informants and those informants flip more informants which go on to flip more informants themselves.
FBI informants come in two categories. Those that provide intel and those that entrap. For the intel gatherers they look for people with a lot of connections somewhere in the center or near the center of a network. Then there's the informants that entrap and they typically offer illegal weapons, explosives or drugs or online encouraging actions that break the computer fraud and abuse act or child pornography.
