Yes and no.
If you're using some 3D engine, the owners will charge shit tons for even renting it and that's pretty much the modeling and movement only, they'll charge you more for particles templates or effects and it's based on contracts so you will have to buy those from them unless you make your own engine and that could be as expensive but I believe it's a worthy expense especially because it can be a one time buy.

As for effort/time consuming/rendering time isn't really that much more, in fact a physics engine could reduce drastically the time and improve quality as animators have more time to focus in characters.
But again contracts, I believe that can't even use freeware.

You'll have to convince the investors and producers, but "unreal and flash is used everywhere and that must be because its better".
But you're right, CryEngine could make some top tier cell-shading and is vastly cheaper, but you'll have to convince the old guys that "Game engines" can produce 2D animation and you don't need to rent Industrial Light & Magic $5000 a week to have good animation.

I don't know if I'll be able to sync them though, Might need help on that, especially because the Netflix version is 5 (50 min) episodes while the torrent is 10 (25 min) episodes plus some content that is not in the Netflix version.

The main problem is that the magnet with the episodes is ungodly slow and only two frogs connect every once in a while to make it bearable.

Now, the files might be too big and I found there's a fault with the codec that unables them to play in anything but PC so what I did was use MKVToolnix and muxed them erasing the spaniard audio track and only let the English and LatAm track, and to reveal the real kb/s on the files details (Properties window for newfags)

For example in episode 1 the kb/s were 1684 but the data size was at 3000kb/s, that's a shitty codec.
So I copied the bitrate into Handbrake software with the settings you see (That's episode 3, each episode has different bitrates), kept the english audio in 5.1 (Make sure to put the bitrate in at least 384kbs for 5.1) and started the process.

Audio tracks are around 50-90mb and the excess of data rate is aprox. 70mb, so by the end you should be having files between 70-120mb smaller without quality loss depending on the audio tracks or lack thereof.

This scene is very, very obviously directly inspired by the (french as well) movie Jeux interdits, which is… well, a little girl with her little dog leaving paris because of the second world war.
The plot seems very different but the "a little girl and a little boy during WWII" mindset seem very close and an obvious inspiration, if not homage.

It was a single pilot and having seen the series I can tell you that's as antogonistic Nazis get beyond one entitled bastard who in all fairness gets suspended by his own commander for being a bastard also got reported by his partner.

In all seriousness the series puts the resistance in a far more darker light than the nazis without any kind of excuses.
After the plane scene the first thing nazis do is behave like normal human beings, and by the end is the resistance who's killing people in the middle of the streets.

Not the same guy but the series is kinda weird, it has the "Rugrats" effect that kids will focus on something while adults focus on something else.

As a kid you'll focus on the Nazis being the bad guys because that's what the protagonist kids complaint about, a thing IMO seeing kids so proud on their nation regardless of side I really liked watching it as an adult it gets more complicated.

The Nazis aren't shown as bad people in general, the commander is ruthless but honestly tries to befriend the citizens of the occupied village and the "evil" Nazis are the orders that come from higher ups or splinter individuals.

The citizens are shown to be far more flawed.
People who just bend over to receive überdick or on the other extreme are so caught up with vengeance they're not hesitant on committing some truly nightmarish shit in such a gleeful way is downright uncanny.

My only complaint about the series is that this isn't for kids, not because of content but because the complexity of the situation and moral Humans are equals because humans can be bastards will go just above kids heads and they'll act just like the kids on the show do i.e. Nazis are bad resistance is good.

Kudos on the show for showing the dark side of the resistance. They act like good guys for the kids and the viewer but since the Nazis don't do that much that makes the resistance look more active in everything both good and bad.

Real spoilers I almost ragequit when the first thing the resistance does after appearing is use the kids as child spies, it got saved because they weren't lauded as heroes, by the end its shown how fucking deranged they've gotten with vengeance.
