Holla Forums, I want to offer a sincere apology

Holla Forums, I want to offer a sincere apology.

I want to r/socialism today after seeing that bait thread about how just *evil* and *racist* this board is, and it turned into a fucking nightmare. I genuinely didn't anticipate how idcucked it was or could have been.

It's fucked up. It's bad. I believe you now. I genuinely didn't think there were self-described socialists who treated class and material fucking conditions like a "pick your own adventure game".

Also, I got banned.

The mods are just fucking terrible there. The actual users are a little better but the mods are so easily triggered it's embarrassing. I've never once dared to post there (although I lurk) because you can get banned for anything.

This is coming from someone who is pro-feminism, anti-racist etc.

Reminder that ShitLiberalsSay is just as shit

I got banned for defending the use of slurs on Holla Forums as a purely hollow symptom of Chan linguistics that has nothing to do with any actual bigotry (I use the same damn terms on here with impunity, but would never dare say them in real life, and recognize they have an entirely different use on 4/Holla Forums) - literally got banned for "ambiguity". It's pathetic. Any discourse that didn't completely conform to the ultra-id, ultra-sectarian pro-easily triggered camp was just immediately banned.

Like. I got 6 PM's within 2 hours from people who'd been banned and muted telling me to just not bother, or to not fuck with the mods. It's not actually a socialist board, it's just a masturbatory echo chamber about how great Lena Dunham is.

For seriously saying I didn't pay sycophantic idpol politics and forwarded class above all else. A BAN THREAT. I don't get it. What is the deal with r/socialism, seriously?

It's probably run by the same people.

...

Posted there in defense of Holla Forums last night.

Actually got one post in agreement with me.

The others were basically "muh slurs"

NATURALY!

She's just terrible.

The funniest part is that these losers think they can fight in an actual revolution, but hearing some bad words triggers them into curling up and crying.

It might have been me, actually, I was legitimately surprised to find there were 2 people even kind of defending this board. Was it the one about how when leftypol raided some subs they used slurs and how that was indicative of their eeeeevil fasicst origins?

These are the replies I got

Sadly that mod is one of the better ones on r/socialism. A Trot (CWI) so closer to classic Marxism.

I'm the second commenter and I'm really glad to see you were a leftypoler after all, it sounded too lucid to be by a redditor.

Also important to note I didn't get banned until later today, almost a full 24 hours after that comment, when my own thread gained traction.

To change/subvert r/socialism you need to be able to post there. So set up a duplicate account and use a proxy when you post there. Learn to stop just short of the guardrail. And stay clear of the mods.

I kinda figured

I haven't been banned, but then again I haven't replied to any of those posters yet

I've been getting a lot of supportive messages from people who don't want to interact with me in the public sub sphere but who explicitly endorse the shit I and other leftypolers have posted. One actally asked for the link to Holla Forums!

Second time around for me. Got caught up in the drama that involved the starter of r/socialism what a year ago? Wish I knew of this board. Dissidents definitely need a gathering spot.

They probably won't like it here.

Of course I disavow any knowledge of that nest of reactionary wreckers known as Holla Forums

reddit.com/r/socialism/comments/4qej5o/lets_talk_about_brocialists/

Just look at the pure concentrated cancer in that thread.

r/socialism is just liberals pretending to be socialists.

The very fact that they use terms like "class essentialism" in a negative connotation, shows that they they have thrown Marx out of the window, and are either drinking the liberal feminist koolaid or appealing to BLM retardation.

That's what I said with due warning.

Im the one who started this thread because I was so fucking fed up with the meaningless total moniker of brocialist. It gets really bad at some points, most of the highest up voted comments are from people with 'marxist' flair who unendingly argue that oppression is discovered from class or material circumstances completely.

You do have to keep in mind the demographic on r/socialism. We are talking new initiates to what passes for the contemporary campus left. There is a definite 'Lord Of The Flies' dynamic present.

Implying those shitters have worked a day in their college educated champagne socialist lives.

Did they mean to say workers??? I genuinely thought they were intentionally calling them 'wokes' a la so aware now because of Tumblr. This comment just became so much more absurd and notable.

No, wokes is honestly what they call themselves.

I think it started on Black Twitter? Not sure honestly.

I should probaly take a rest.

apology for poor english

when were you when liberal as a politics term dies

i was read kapital by marx when adam smith ring

'liberal is die'

'no'

and you?????????????

Is there a real feud between self declared SJWS and self declared Wokes? What the fuck. I can't keep up with any of this.

No I think that comment is saying that SJWs call themselves Wokes

There is the occasional good discussion there, but I'm convinced the better part of moderation and the users are liberals who like the color red.

Black people slang used to be cool, then i think they ran out of ideas and became the swag woke chill people with zero chill.

yuck

As someone who started posting on 4chan in 2006, it saddens me to see how common it is for chan posters to use reddit. I still can't figure out the format of the site because I browse for more than 5 minutes without leaving in disgust.

I finally figured out how the format works, but it's still just not satisfying and easy to use. Imageboard formats are pretty much perfect for me.

Personally I refuse to associate myself with any system that uses rep or karma, since it's pretty much the complete establishment of elitism an cliques, an just begs for it to be abused.

Reddit is everything I hate about traditional forums dialed up to an even higher degree of cliqueishness and groupthink.

What slurs does Holla Forums use…. or am I just immune to them all?

Not long ago I decided to see what /r9k/ is like these days out of boredom. Found myself in a 4chan nostalgia thread. Truly the old guard is the bastion of board culture.

Originalfag here, circa 2003 4chan and 2006 reddit, reddit used to be good for discussion before the SJWs and stormfags, it still is if you know where to go and stay out of the liberal and reactionary subreddits. And I hate to say it, other than Holla Forums, it's the only fucking place I can have a conversation about something anymore without retards coming in and shitting Holla Forums autism everywhere(even fullchan is someone better these days in certain respects). But you're not going to find any actual good discussion or ciritcal non-faggot criticism anywhere, for that you're out of luck unless your interests are gardening or ham radios.

4chan really has been split in two. On boards other than Holla Forums, if some Holla Forumsyp tries spreading their bullshit, it's basically guaranteed someone will b2/pol/ them which will trigger arguments.
At least its not taken for granted like on the other major boards on this site. I got banned from /gg/ for mocking mods that called Holla Forums their allies.

Faggot, nigger, etc.

lel, they seem to think we are an ML circlejerk. Fucking rich from them. Half of the posters there have unironic mao flairs.

I have spent nearly a decade with you people. We have probably called one another faggots a thousand tines. I have probably wrote more to you particular guys than I ever have to my parents.

If it were a named forum, we'd probably all know each other and be friends. And yet, because it would be named we'd probably hate each other because we've probably all had serious disagreements and called each other out.
What a world we live in.

Tell us of your ways oh elder one.

What was 4chan like, back then?

Autist, nigger, faggot, bislut, whore, etc. There's a lot. Like I said, they seriously don't bother me because they're so untethered from the actual meaning.

I started using 4chan and specifically /r9k/, /x/ and /mu/ in about 2007 when I was 12 and occasionally come back just to remember what it felt like to be that age and so deeply immersed with the website and specific boards before I got perma b&. I hate the direction all three of them have taken, it just annoys and somehow depresses me to even lurk anymore, and I have to rely on Reddit for activity.

It's sort of a nice thought, I think. I know that arguing with anonymous fuckwits has definitely improved my ability to discuss things in general.

I know exactly what this is that you are saying.

A fucking decade my man, how time flies.

And yet you guys are entertaining this bullshit in that samefag feminism thread that is trending right now.

What, the fuck?

If you haven't noticed yet, Holla Forums is addicted to arguing about stupid shit. The fact that people here take up as their hobby to debate with Holla Forumstards is beyond me.

Was /r9k/ even around then? I remember moot setting it up as an experiment where no image could ever be reposted. I got bored with it fairly quickly and stuck to /sp/ and /tg/ until they turned to shit. Also /mlp/. Of course, I shitposted on Holla Forums but only until 2009 and the rise and fall of Chanology.

Not that guy, but I tried to search for that nostalgia /r9k/ thread, its somewhat informative, but the archive doesn't have search enabled on that board for some reason.
My advice: watch this shit and you'll realise 4chan was always shit.

tanasinn.info/wiki/Complete_History_of_4chan

This. I didn't start 4chan until 2009. I still don't think I can call myself an oldfag even when it's obvious most users are very new.

I went to one of those dressed as Anonymous. I remember singing Never Gonna Give You Up. Good lord.

You missed the best days of 4chan, but after seven years you are an oldfag, provided you did a sufficient amount of lurking.

Yeah. I remember thinking Holla Forums was the pinnacle of humour. I now cringe whenever someone calls an image macro a "meme".
Hell, I cringe whenever someone talks about memes offline. It's embarrassing. And yet you can actually see it on tv. It's fucking surreal.

Greetings, fellow aspie.

As an 06 faggot, it amazes me that there are people who started in 2010 who have been here 6 years. Like, fuck.

Fuck off autist

My main board was /a/ so I couldn't get away without lurking. Even if I missed the best years I'm incredibly nostalgic for what /a/ used to be.

/a/ was my first board after Holla Forums. I left because I don't like watching cute girls doing cute things. As shit as Holla Forums is, at least they have better taste than /a/.
But I'll always respect /a/'s elitism. Other boards like Holla Forums and Holla Forums lost their elitism over time and became Holla Forums lite.

I'd post a sad anime face, but I don't feel like expending the effort to look for one. No need to be mean, user.

I was referring to my use of the term autist.
You autist

To be perfectly honest the users back then must have been younger, it was also pretty much an anime site back then, 4chan was just crude teenage absurdist humor, it was like the "cool" highscool kids club.

Today 4chan is total crap. Only a few boards have withstood the influx of the massive amount of new members. I would count /lit/,/r9k/, /tg/ and /mu/ as the last boards that have survived with their board culture intact.

I'm confused. What happened?

Lets be real, 4chan was worse than reddit back then. 13-15 year olds making memes is cringe as fuck.
4chan had parts of it get a lot better over time, but faggots from reddit and Holla Forums shit it up. It became both more normie and more extremist at the same time. No fun allowed tbh.

And now we are here talking about starting a communist revolution. When it happens we have to say that we did it for teh lulz.

dont worry about it bby

Well, now I fucking have to worry about it, satan.

Only in retrospect. At the time it scared the shit out of everyone.

Which is funny really.
Now days all the normies think they have a right to be mollycoddled on twitter and facebook when they share their idiotic opinions. Those of us who have been here for a decade tell them to fuck off and all of a sudden the media goes on and on about "cyber bullying"
like nigga close your eyes

...

what anime

/a/ was my main after Holla Forums too. I liked the comedy SoL shows as well as the rest. My interest in anime is fairly broad so I don't feel left out when discussion revolved around cute girls doing cute things or whatever the main trend is. Holla Forums never appealed to me because by the time I checked it out it was already Holla Forums 2.0. I don't think their taste is better than /a/ at all. They are just more casual and thus only watch the good action oriented anime. /a/ only talked about SoL so much because that was 90% of the new anime getting released and /a/ focuses on currently airing anime discussion.

Last I checked /a/'s culture was still intact albeit in a watered down state with more shitposting than I ever remember seeing.

youtube.com/watch?v=vmL72sgVdAQ
The perfect representation of my country

4chan /a/ has unironic naruto threads.

it's borked.

HA

That board used to be something of a "gentleman's Holla Forums"

But that was a long, long time ago…

I'm glad that a decent amount of Holla Forums seems to like grand strategy games, since /gsg/ is almost nothing but shitposting now

/leftygsg/ when?

There was a thread of that a week or so ago, it was pretty fun. Pretty much all generals have gone to trash though, /vg/ is a terrible fucking board.

I remember when it was basically the green text board before virgins took over. God, a time before wojack and pepe. Can you imagine. I remember when people unironically posted cool guy/troll face and said trolled. Then reddit started abusing black and white faces and rage comics and all of a sudden it was taboo.
Also, I've always meant to try a GSG. I like games like age of empires, warcraft and fire emblem - could you recommend me something?

When they started allowing Naruto threads most /a/nons were totally against it. It was mod enforced bullshit. I imagine now it is just tolerated, but I've been out of touch the past couple of years so maybe I haven't noticed how bad things have gotten on my occasional visits.

You guys make me miss the more innocent days. I'd say around 2012, or maybe 2013 onwards is when it all fell apart.
Not that it was ever great.

Personally I've sank dozens of hours to Stellaris and EUIV, Paradox is like my crack cocaine dealer.

That feel when was part of the wave of krautchaners that popularized that feel and poland ball.

I was there, i saw the first poland ball made by falcolad.
The first feel felt by wojack

I occasionally go over there for a thread or two when an episode or chapter just comes out for the sake of hype, since even though full /a/ has better quality discussion it's really slow.

I can stomache that much, but no more. It's gotten really bad.

Even 2012 was pretty shit m8. I'd say the definitive shift was early 2007. Someone once pointed out that's when cell phones with internet access became popularized with normalfags.

That's still subjective, though, in the end. I've been posting on imageboards since 2004, and even though I've got some thick nostalgia for those times, I'd have loved to experience what the net was like before the eternal september.

Yeah, I mean, things were in decline before that, but it was when Holla Forums was made that shitposting and general board quality went into free fall. They brought the worst influx of newfags in the site's history because they refused to adhere to board culture except.

Holla Forums was bound to happen once /new/ got made and deleted, that culture was given proof that it could make enough of a fuss to get what they want. /k/ got completely fucked by the Holla Forums crowd after /n/ got deleted, but it pretty much kept to /k/ up until someone decided to push that audience to /new/.

All these memes will be lost in time like tears in the rain

I just abandoned 8/a/ because the Holla Forums posting got so annoying. I actually don't even bother much with image boards outside of Holla Forums now. It's kind of sad. I might try to go back to 4/a/ and/or 8/a/. This board grinds away at my sanity.

I never went on /new/. But for a while I posted on /int/ which was alright. But after /new/ got deleted it descended into idiocy. Mods got a little extreme admittedly. I remember mocking a racist once with "hurr niggers" and I got autobanned for saying niggers.
Then they made Holla Forums it was all over from that point.

pol is the only board carrying on the culture of trolling normal faggots that should be Holla Forums's gimmick.
The world wasnt always like this, no tumblr, no sjw's, pol just cant help trolling these retards.
Not their fault they started a movement and got donald trump elected gop nominee

If moot knew better he could have just not made Holla Forums. We'd have had far-right shitposting still, but not on nearly the scale. Plus far fewer stormfaggots.

10/10 I laughed.

Holla Forums was already a joke by the time Holla Forums was created.

The problem is that each politics board built up that audience - /n/ was a mix of genuine stormfronters and general internet users of the time, /new/ began the sort of alt-right shitposting methodology that when it was deleted filled the entirety of 4chan and then Holla Forums has just taken off since they have a place to build up more bullshit.

Holla Forums fails at being old Holla Forums because they believe their own bullshit and take themselves seriously

there are a lot on ancient meme's that arent used anymore, i never see anyone use copypasta anymore.
Christ, Holla Forums complelty milked bane into nothingness.

The fact that pepe the frog has lasted this long is intresting though, people ere posting him since the old days.
Kuma the bear was started by 2 chan, 4chan turned him into pedo bear, teenage finns turned him into spurdo sparde, then kc, made him cute and turned him into his current incarnation gondola

This
Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.
Only autists took it seriously

When it comes to GSG, obviously Paradox is going to be your go-to supplier.

EU4 is probably the most beginner friendly. It runs from 1444-1812, so you'll get the whole Age of Exploration to dick around in and be an imperialist dickbag. The game is $10 on Steam right now due to sales, or alternatively, just pirate it.
At the very least, pirate the DLC. It's overpriced as fuck, and only takes putting the DLC files into the right folder and running an authenticator to pirate. The world tends to proceed in a "believable" manner: not 100% historically accurate, but plausible.

CK2 isn't really GSG in the traditional sense: it's more strategy game mixed with RPG. You (usually) play as some feudal lord, and have to manage your dynasty while landed titles are constantly being passed around you and fought for. Runs from 769-1453, with the last major scripted world event being Timur the Lame's conquests. It's also pretty good for beginners, though it has the propensity to become WILDLY ahistorical, which I know can be a turnoff for a lot of people.

Vic2, unlike the previous 2 games mentioned, tends to be more simulation-like in how it operates (as in the world will proceed in a mostly historical manner unless the player intervenes). It's definitely not beginners choice, and is among the more complex of the GSG games. A lot of the gameplay is about industrialization and managing the economy, as well as the scramble for Africa and (with the DLC) WWI in the late game. Its usually considered to be the best of the Paradox games (and its the first game in the historical timeline that you get to play as commies/socialists).

I know mentioned Stellaris, but it may be worthwhile to wait a bit before really diving into it. It's fun, but comparably bare-bones when stacked up to the other games.

I may be a filthy newfag by your standards, but gondola is fucking based.

Thanks that sounds really good

You got bannned!? Injustice!
Your comments on both of the threads were consistently insiteful.

Thanks, it really wasn't particularly intellectually driven or concerted, just my basic opinions concerning idpol and the origins of exploitation.

WOW it's been a long time since I've see THAT image

|
Close enough. /r9k/ first appeared in 2008 but it wasn't in full-swing for a while yet

After being on reddit you better lmfao

I just want to post and talk about my shitty playthroughs and create alt history mods

How autistic is liking alt history

My nigguh

One of my very favorite enjoyments in life is slipping into a bathrobe, getting really high and reading Harry Turtledove novels.

I really love stuff like Kaiserreich and Napoleon's Legacy. Just all the different politics and history.

Perhaps because it's generally more exciting than neoliberal hegemony, which is just a boring hell?

My experience with all the "socialist" subreddits has been
>they all seem to revel in the idea of engaging in extreme violence, with lots of jokes and references to firing lines and gulags. I was told multiple times that they would like to put me up against a wall. Yet, they can't handle even slight disagreement or off-color language. One wonders if they think that the revolution will just be an orgy of divine violence where they get to brutally murder everyone they don't like and have never figured that it also involves people shooting at you

I have never actually used any of these subreddits but i heard that at least r/socialsim used to be better but that pretty much all of the vaugely left leaning subs has been couped by the same team of mods. I have no idea how true this actually is though.

...

And even if they admitted you weren't idpol, they would qualify you as colorblind wich is just as badwrong.

"This sub is a fucking pit of brocialism…"

I can see why they think Holla Forums is a pit of nazi fascists and nazional anarchists if they have to actually debate whether /r/socialism is brocialist or not. It's like watching an ancarp calling a conservative a socialist.

Heads up; more counter-revolutionary whining here: reddit.com/r/ShitLiberalsSay/comments/4qgzj4/rsocialism_defends_leftypol/

just saying in case you're unaware, r LateStageCapitalism is the cat's tats

polite sage

Just remember to use a throwaway account if you want to say that identity politics are a just another manifestation of neoliberal capitalism…

I wouldn't be surprised. I've noticed a millennial/apocalyptic sort of belief among them. It's like leftism/socialism, at least for them, has become something of a version of early Christianity: a doomsday cult where they believe if they keep themselves free of the sins of liberalism, some day the divine apocalypse of the revolution purge the earth of their enemies.

That's kind of a good sign imo

Jesus. Full, unironic McCarthyism

There's maybe–maybe–three hundred posters here that are actually socialists and only a fraction of them actually give a shit about /r/socialism or Holla Forums's honor enough to go and downvote shit idiot redditors say

grats dawg

You got what you deserved.

/r/LateStageCapitalism is also an idpol-ridden shithole. I was banned after posting a perfectly on-topic (and upvoted) link, presumably because I had also posted on /r/CringeAnarchy

Yeah, I miss when "memes" were actually cultural in jokes rather than just TEXT ON IMAGE LOL ISSA MAYMAY XD

siiiigh

I was banned for for saying "fuck off" to someone who took offense to me calling Thatcher a twat.

It seems like the reverse of, what was it? Zizek's "obscene enjoyment" that things like fascism permit? They get to experience the vicarious pleasure of some authority figure enforcing their ideal authority. In their fantasies they aren't the ones on the firing line pulling the trigger. It's just a row of faceless men with rifles executing the people they don't personally like or agree with.

I got banned for calling Hilary Clinton a cunt.

I want my old /jp/ back ;_;

...

I have no regrets about the split, at least part of old /a/ managed to survive a bit longer.

...

It's obviously an idpol shithole. I have a particularly insane redditor I use as an idpol detector. If she posts there without having a tantrum, the idpol cancer is terminal. Here:

reddit.com/user/-Enkara-/

P.S. She loves being hugged.

lol

These people are fucking dangerous beyond words. The right is swelling their ranks effortlessly because these people are so fucking unbearable. This is how we lose the chance of any revolution, reactionary liberals driving normies who don't understand socialism to the hard right.

We need some way to combat this, I honestly believe this is the most dangerous threat to leftism today. I work my ass off to get one or two workers to stop gagging at the term "socialism" and then these idiots go and get some single mom mom fired for saying "negro" once on twitter or some other dumb reason and places like Holla Forums, Breitbart, etc. get 50 new lurkers overnight. Honestly, do we have a good plan to combat this?

Probably a stupid question, but are there any leftist subreddits that aren't inundated with idpol?

...

I legitimately wasn't aware that it could possibly be as bad as people made it out to be, but it is, and you were all right and I'm still mystified as to how anyone on that board unironically and unshamefully calls them self a Marxist.

Speaking as someone with actually professionally diagnosed BPD, I've noticed a weird correlation between self diagnosed borderlines (most of whom don't have it but are young teenagers whose emotions have yet to even kind of chill out, who have found the most antagonistic and edgy mental illness to self identify with to escape any critique, or whom might actually have it but gallavant around shrieking empirically wrong shit like this that might actually put others in danger) and the frequency of SJW idpol nightmare stuff. Id probably never say this anywhere public because my head would get torn off, but something about the diagnostic profile just seems to make people prone to insane fits of emotional reactivity on the Internet and a hyper fixation and identification wits SJW idiocy. Just an observation.

Well…it's the same as people on this board "reinterpreting" Marx or rather purport to have read something they haven't to seem authorative, or, worse, to seem conventional. I'm not saying this to discredit Holla Forums but really the appeal to be an -ist is all the more great because it's easy to be believed, and easier to believe that one believes.

At least /vr/ seems to have a good bunch of leftists, but the threads still going on until bumplock agitates me.

At least people here are minimally convincing. I lost track of how many people on that board who straight up said that most oppressions had zero to do with class or material pre/conditions - I can't imagine anyone here ever making that fundamental of a misstatement. Here I see more people straight up ignoring, bluffing or otherwise lying about more niche aspects of Marxian thought, r/socialism seems much more cut and dry 'I'm gonna say something inane I saw on Tumblr and call myself a Marxist' despite the fact that its pure undialectal idealism.

What can ya' do? Fuck 'em, eh.

I guess. It mostly gets under my skin because I see these exact kind of people coming to positions of power and legitimacy in irl circles, and then once you dig even slightly deeper it's immediately revealed that they don't have a fucking clue what they're on about, and meanwhile any critique is interpreted as 'problematic' or 'privileged'. Trying not to lose my blood pressure about it though.

Son, how retarded are you? We've known this since forever.

Zizekstoilet? Is that you, comrade?

Morning, comrade! Half wondering if I should be cagey about my handle being public on here, half am not even assed anymore.

...

I shall fear no r/socialism evil for I have a throwaway account..

...

This is what we're up against people

Gooble gobble

Retard, faggot, nigger, autist

Its ok-ish for games, but holy fuck the groupthink is SO HARD. Its also so easy to manipulate. The first 3 people to comment are the ones who set the hivemind. Ive seen complete polar opposites on the same video reposted a week later.

We're up against mental illness?

Status update- "k"

/r/leftypolitics, this boards official sub.

Isn't there literally just one poster there?

Im a mod there but its not really interesting modding and engaging one bloke who just posts articles he finds.

Yeah, we're going to need there to be some sort of exodus from /r/socialism or at least an official attempt to get people to use it first.

COUKsharma SawantGH!

seeing neo/pol/acks and SJWs getting pushback is nice for a change, would be nice if the same happened here and we could get back to actually talking about everything not-politics

yeah probably, reddit was the same actually until about 2010 when it became popular after Digg died, reddit only had a few thousand active posters and you could get into discussions with the original group that started it like admins and shit and actually tell them how stupid their opinions were without getting banned.

the same as now really, shitposting, idiots, edgelords, children. There are differences though, SJWs and unironic nazi's didn't exist,we used to mock both types all the time, back then stormfags were the polfags of today and we called them out constantly when they would show up. SJWs didn't exist in that sense, there were feminists but I don't remember them ever posting because they stuck to whatever corner of the internet existed for them back then, this was before tumblr and SJWs were called feminazis and were openly mocked everywhere by everyone in general in society.

The other difference was that you could post literally anything besides CP, you could also say whatever you wanted without getting banned, granted you could get shit on by a faggot mod sometimes but it was rarely permanent, m00t at the time wasn't an SJWcuck and sellout so things were more easy going.

Shitposting was generally a banable offense outside Holla Forums or very select threads, quality was higher, saging did something, there wasn't DMCA shit on images, and we actually made memes on a weekly basis. Ragefaces were hilarious, and actually meeting another Holla Forumstard in the wild was a muh privilege instead of a cringefest.

Thinking of the past now, I went to the beach last week and walked into one of those t-shirt shops and saw a wall with ragefaces, it used to piss me off but now I just get sad thinking of what was lost, how 4chan sucks because it's filled with normalfags and rules out the ass and Holla Forums also sucks because it's filled with angry no-fun-allowed people and Holla Forums autists.

I miss the old days because we fucking had fun, the shit was there but it wasn't front and center stage, people weren't polarized to hell and back on every fucking thing. I exclusively blame people for becoming sectarian and isolating themselves and avoiding real discussion for how bad things have become.

Back then we were forced to talk with each other, people shit on each other but also came together to do awesome things, now everyone with a different opinion gets isolated, their threads derailed, constant shitposting, trolling, political bullshitting.

tl;dr, the world is a dick and I'm old

Good

the Something Awful forums

And blogs. And LJ.

wewius maximus
/r/socialism is something else
and for the record i'm almost positive it's not the mod who muted me in the first place

Ledditors come to infinite chan for their daily triggering.

tbh the tanks are worse than the idpolers

Dude lefty/pol/ is satire. Did you really fall for the meme?

Oh boy

Will you post that sentence in every thread?

I think thats a healthy way to be.

unlike Holla Forums I will admit that I buy into most of the /leftpol/ memes.

ftfy fam

You got banned for that? That was the tamest picture in the series. Of course, there is only one way of knowing that it does belong to a series.

Too many words, picture isn't smooth enough, 3/10

Are there any subreddits that *aren't* idpol? r/socialism, r/anarchism, r/socialanarchism, r/fullcommunism are all full of porky identity politics types. I found one called r/leftwithoutedge that seems okay but it doesn't have a very high amount of traffic.

I literally got banned from the /r/socialism discord chat because I told an American girl she was not actually Scottish

She was all "I don't care about what the Europeans think, I'm Scottish no matter what they say", I told her that people who are actually from Scotland would laugh at her.

I'm from Ireland, and I informed her that she was not actually Scottish and immediately she was complaining to the mods and trying to ban me.

I then got a barrage of accusations of "xenophobia" for telling an American she was actually not from an area half the world away.

I then got banned and tonight came back to complain about my ban, the mod told me I wasn't actually banned but "kicked" (what the difference is, I don't know).

A few of the people on the verbal chat remembered this and started laughing, accusing me of being an "Irish Third Worlder" (whatever the hell this means).

I then got accused of "trying to start a fight again" and again got kicked.

I had tried being a contributing member with these people, posting links and shit, and I was nice almost all the time.

Even the girl who got me banned said that same day to me "you're welcome here".

I'm very disappointed in those guys. I don't think I'll try again with them.

Fuck reddit and their MLMs

Anyone bothered by what you say is really just looking for something to do in their easy life.

I told /r/socialism I was pro life cause I'm muslim. After the post, I was banned for sexism. Tankies… Never again.

I asked the mods when I would be unbanned and that Poblacht Oibrithe guy just ignored me and replied to other people instead

considering I was getting along quite well with the Irish mods, I thought they'd let me back in but no

mods like Let_Them_Tremble just pretended they never banned me in the first place and then ignored me

Why even be part of such a stupid community? Being a part of /r/socialism should be renamed /r/dickridingthemods.

Lol he's so salty he couldn't ban you

I like political instant chat, and being about to talk about it in real time

the Holla Forums discord is very slow in comparison

It's also fun to talk to people you kinda disagree with rather than people you totally disagree with like in most places

It's worrying that one of the internet's largest anti-idpol leftist communities is an anonymous image board in a site about Chinese cartoons.

Try this list:
reddit.com/r/subredditcancer/wiki/src_alternate_subs

Leftwithoutedge has an SRS mod posting there and generally panders to feminist scumbags.
