Sorry user, but this is old news. Anyone who went through public primary school in the past 15 years or so is familiar with the shitty sandwich the poor/allergic kids get when they can't get the main meal which is mostly just reconstituted plastic & rubber anyways

He was charged for the actual meal anyways, even though he couldn't be given it because the policy is to dump it when they hit that credit limit and thus giving him the sandwich instead (which costs more at that point).

Public school, by the US definition, is a myth in most places. You still pay for it, it's just cheaper and much shittier that the average private school. Anyone who calls themselves a parent will only put their children through it if there's literally no other option since standards are horridly low and half of it is liberal propaganda anyhow.

One card was one week 5 days of lunch, or you could buy daily and get a little green plastic token for 1 lunch and the attendant collected the tokens. You could either get them from your teacher or buy them at the principals office. There was also a milk ticket if you brought your lunch you could get a carton of milk.
Now here is the kicker a hot lunch was 25 cents
