So maybe some of you know about the Positive Christianity movement during the 3rd reich.
I'm a bit confused on some parts of it.
It was a German Protestant sect that wanted to reinvent the Bible to be more aligned with the views of the 3rd reich. The group Deutsch Christen advocated for these principles of modernizing the Bible to relate to the principles of the NSDAP by trying to revise christian history in order to rid parts of the Bible of Semetic influence, which kind of seems impossible in my own opinion. But they made arguments such as:
- Jesus was actually a Syrian descended Aryan who was Blonde and blue eyed. And that the population of Galilee was racially distinct from that of Judea.
- Rejected the deity described in the Hebrew Scriptures and in distinction affirmed the Father of Christ as the true God (Jews worship Satan and Christians worship true god)
- They would remove books from the bible that talked about the Jews being the everlasting chosen people.
- Jesus was redefined as an Aryan hero who struggled against Jews and Judaism.
My question is; Why did they view the Christianity as not inherintly positive a sought to cherry pick and revise history in order to make it fit within the narrative of NSDAP culture and politics?
I understand many of the reasons why but I dont fully understand it. I get they didnt want to have people worship a Jew as their Lord and savior, but it comes across as kind of weird to try and make the bible about a Semite-Aryan race war and not about 'eternal salvation'.
Please give me some explanations. Also, do any modern incarnations of this church exist in countrys with free speech? (and none that have anything to do with 'Christian Identity', which I personally find LARPy and dumb)
Huh, those are basically the tenets I believe already, didn't know they were in line with what Christians in the 3rd Reich believed.

Its basically Christianity that makes sense.
I really can't understand the level of schizophrenia necessary to believe Jews are bad people and then take anything written in the old-testament ( which is indeed a disgusting collection of books ) as gospel or something worthy of any respect.

I get that they didnt like christianity and wanted to reinvent it. But I feel like a lot of the origins of anti-semetic views among germanic christians came originally from both the concept of Jews being the 'Christ Killers' aswell as the idea that Jews exploiting the Goyim with usury was immoral and analogous with Jesus being betrayed by Judas with the 30 shekles of silver.
So to me it would make sense that the nazis would try and focus mainly on that to 'make christianity great again' in a sense.

Positive Christianity was just a stepping stone to get Germans off Christianity. They knew Christianity was degenerate, sbut they couldn't take people off it cold turkey, so they made positive Christianity that at least removed some of the degeneracy.

Because Christian antisemitism is completely superficial. It doesn't care about Jews as a racial group, just as a religious one, so it doesn't even address the core of the Jewish problem.

Agree, there is good jews , jesus is an example

There was nothing wrong with Christianity. They had contempt for it because Christians, while supportive of Hitler, wouldn't bow to any man. Kikes being of the Synagogue of Satan is biblical. There's nothing to correct besides ignorance of that.
