alright im not entirely sure that this is a place to ask but what are your guys' recommendations for vpns? i bought expressvpn recently with bitcoin solely because i only had some bitcoin on me at the time and i wanted to know some vpn recommendations from people who wear tinfoil suits and if expressvpn is utter shite.

Buy a vps with bitcoin and install openvpn

I use Mullvad because it's 5EUR/month and I can pay with Buttcoins. And it works with openvpn so I don't need any funny client or anything

Your VPS provider will log all incoming and outcoming traffic, and you don't know how to configure a VPN properly anyway

Because a VPN services providers won't do it ?
Because you exactly know how the VPN service provider has configured his side ?
If you can buy a VPS via bitcoin and without a name or any piece that can trace your real ID then it's a better solution (if you can configure it correctly).
When your VPN setup is done just make Tor pass trough it and your good.

no logz.

some services like DuckDuckGo are sold on this and if it were ever found out they were logging their business would be wrecked.

A VPN can be a pain if you run all your traffic through it, only selected things should be run through a VPN like Internet browsing but not gaming.

Private Internet Access is very good, fast servers, no logging policy, etc.
People like Rick Falkvinge from Pirate Party also support/work for them.

he don't support them, he shill for them

airvpn

or your own vps+openvpn

I'm using private internet access right now
kill me

But no one can prove it that's the whole problem.

i fell for it too. But i prefer when there is no domain on the vpn-ip, or just some cryptic server name 23-32-232-23-cablegreen.net

proxy.sh

kill yourself

what if I was playing on a foreign server

What's wrong with mullvad fags?
Everyone can listen to your traffic, specifically infamous ISP. If you are so inclined about privacy then you should cut off internet cable, turn off computer and dip it into acid!

fucking disgusting "cyber security specialists" cry to your moms.

No idea what you're sperging over

Are there any security downsides to just tun0l thru a cheap 128mb vps, has someone here expierience with this?

What's wrong with PIA?

They don't give out transparancy reports,
and they are located in the USA.
That and half the fucking servers don't work properly or have slow connection.
For instance, if i use a finland proxy it will show up as being in the US.
id change

disregard that please.

THE COLLECTIVE WILL SUFFER FOR ENDCHAN'S SINS

Good luck with that

If you're only using it for web and other TCP applications you might as well just use Tor, it's free and better than VPN anyway.

FACEBOOK IS THE BEST VPN

+1

I only use Tor for TCP packets and run an open wireless hotspot in the middle of a city to merge my other traffic with random stranger's.

If I had to use unsecure connection to transmit sensitive data for some reason, I would only trust my ISP though.

If you use a VPN +Tor, your ISP can't tell you're using Tor. They just see the encrypted VPN traffic.

I dropped it today because they want you to install an ancient package (net-tools) that hasn't seen any noticeable development since 2001.
A VPN company relying on tools deprecated years ago. No thanks.

This, AirVPN is great. I have only great things to say about them. No problems with their servers, connection is always good.

net-tools is fucking ancient, it's the package that provides ifconfig and netstat. Stop being a fucking LARPer. Also

Does anyone have any info on the new ProtonVPN service? This is developed by the Protonmail team

WHat is the true meaning of a DNS leak?

I am using VPN. I know that DNS queries should never be sent to your ISP when using VPN. So I have put primary and secondary DNS server in my router to openDNS (not my ISP).

When I go to dnsleaktest.com I see the DNS servers of my VPN but I also still see the two DNS servers of openDNS in my results too. Is this bad or a dns leak? Should all my result be for my VPN's dns servers or should the two openDNS servers be there as well?

Is the whole point to prevent dns leak to stop your ISP peeking or is it normal that I can still see the two openDNS server I put in my router when I am testing on dnsleaktest.com?

I'm using VPN purchased from humble bundle.

Fuck the police.

look for vpns that dont track or record userdata.

I got torguard.
I give you a advice. Torguard usually gives you 50% off when you buy a annually vpn or proxy pack. But they offer the privacy bundle which is VPN and Proxy, but they dont give you the option of annual payment. But you can e-mail the customer service and ask them to give you a offer for a annual plan. AND YOU WILL SAVE A LOT OF MONEY.

the annual proxy plan is ~50$
the annual vpn plan is ~60$
the montly vpn&proxy plan is 11$ (130$) a month. But if you request a annual plan they will sell it to you for 65$ (at least that is what I payed)

For 5$ a month VPN & Proxy that dont track (perfect for torrenting and other privacy stuff) IS THE BEST I COULD FIND ON THE INTERNET.
Oh not to forget its fullspeed internet, so it will not slow you down at downloads.

when I say annual, its a one time payment for a year. so I dont pay 5$ a month, but I payed the full 65$ at once

You don't have to. I didn't.

But net-tools isn't deprecated. It's just finished.

vpn + tor is the way to go, read cyberwar and cyber complacency by mark osborne, it's basically "how we run snort on 50GBit backbones". vpn to non 5 eyes then run tor. Don't trust your vpn alone!
