No. It doesn't go as awfully bad as parliamentarism because the people having to actually live in the consequences get to have a say about things and not just bribed politrucs living in gated communities.
That said the masses have no vision. They are only interested in their own immediate comfort and things that sound nice and will not make necessary decisions that will benefit the Folk maybe one or two hundred years into the future. Nations need to be lead by warrior sages, that is the only way.

I believe any form of government would work, if men were actually honest and good.
But they are not, so there also needs to be a cage to prevent parasites and predators from wiping out those who keep society alive and protected. Starting from the top, of course.

Democracy only works in homogenous societies as the wants and needs of a people are not conflicting amongst racial lines and to vote in their best interest is to vote in the interest of one group of people instead of 20 separate factions which causes a lot of division.
