Now, where the problem arises, is that Blizzard's decisions dot no exist in a vacuum. They've shown plenty of times before that when they are lightly nudged by a whiny cunt with an overstuffed sense of self importance, they will fold and start covering their female characters, removing content, and grovel at the feet of anyone who even claims to have a vagina.

Blizzard has also shown that they are intimately aware of the behavior of the fandom surrounding Overwatch, as shown by their eagerness to add memes, in-jokes, and references wherever possible.

So, does Tracer being gay matter in any big way? Not really…
Does Blizzard's choice to make Tracer gay represent a potentially worrying trend that may signal future poor decisions and identity politics pandering? I'd say it's very possible, unfortunately.

Overwatch just came out last year and they're still detailing the characters. It's not like those times when a company takes a character with tons of backstory and years of existence and decides to turn then gay. Tracer isn't even a year old yet. And who knows, they could introduce more characters still, some of them could be gay.

And I forgot to complete my sentence. Under the context of Overwatch, all characters are some sort of powered super human, fighting all the time. Of course you could say Tracer is a tomboy, she's a crimefighter. She fights and trains all the time. Hell the only female Overwatch hero that isn't tomboy-ish is D.VA and Mercy, and D.VA is a little too young to be having girlfriends or something, you could do it, but Tracer is just much better for it. She's mature, she has experience, it just makes sense.

Takara Tomy always bring more to the table even when no one asking. I collected several of their Tomica line of model cars. They are the same size as Hot Wheels and yet they are more detailed in paint job, they make the front lamp separated from the body and we can even open the doors.
