What's so wrong about keeping a professional conduct in a public project? You can have your fun when you're not collaborating with people in public i.e. you learn to behave yourself in public. I behave in unpaid OSS projects in exactly the same tone as I would a $300/h consulting job. If I want to have fun in a manner that's not professional, I wouldn't be behaving that way in any serious software development project.

I'll repeat myself; no one should be allowed to work remotely until they've proven that they're a good member of the team and won't just sit on their lazy ass all day getting nothing accomplished. Most people cut out for that type of work don't need to be employed via a major company anyway. People that are good at working solo, especially in Holla Forums, are usually capable enough to be self employed. You shouldn't expect special treatment when you're basically living off the income of someone else and only kept around because they don't have time to do grunt work. You also shouldn't expect to be allowed to work remotely in an environment where others depend on you without first getting to know them and how they typically work. You learn their flaws, you learn their strengths, you work through differences with face to face communication and only then can you work together effectively. At that point and only that point should you consider putting those two people at different locations and expecting them to maintain the same level of output. Otherwise you end up with two people that don't know each other spending half the day bitching about each other and correcting each others mistakes.

Maybe you should consider working some place that is less shit and treats their workers right if you've found any place you've tried to be unsatisfactory. It sounds like you've works at places that try to save money by never upgrading equipment, never spend extra for the workers, and only win contracts because they can bid lower than everyone else. The problem arises from these people witch hunting to find anything that goes against their rules. All it takes is one drunk night where you say the wrong thing even in private. If a record exists they'll find it, post it, shame you, ruin you, then praise each other for doing so. But when the same thing happens to them it's suddenly off limits and immoral. Without the CoC in place this is never an issue and anyone that shits up official channels of communication are removed quickly anyone. So, these CoCs exist for no other reason than to give power to people that don't even contribute to the meat of the project. They are no different than useless HR positions. That's why the people that fill these positions are the same types; lonely cat ladies, diversity hires, nearly all women or men that think they're women, and other people that won't even attempt to do actual work.

For me, the CoC is nothing more than a written document that means "be polite in public". A CoC being used as a weapon for SJW has no meaning for me. If not for CoC, there will be something else used. The way to fight the nature of information (exaggerated tales, outright fabrications) is with more information. The spirit of modern SJW has no credibility with me because of all the solid analysis put forth by skilled orators in Youtube and other online media sources.

If an SJW wants me out of a specific number of projects, depending on the situation, I would probably take up a sabbatical from developing OSS.
