I don't know what to think of it. The word police in germany is really bad so there are a lot of "taboo" words that make people leftists and indoctrinated drones gasp if you use them.

"Völkisch" or "Volk" are completely harmless but because ebil nazis used them, they are evil words. Of course the real goal behind that is to make it impossible to explain any non-leftist political position in reasonable terms, to once again give the left moral authority and authority on what proper discourse is.
Such an innocent word, really. "Volk" just means a people, a nation, an ethnicity. "Völkisch" is the adjective of that, meaning something relating to the "Volk".

It's still great that the overton window is shifting and their tactics of caling everything and everybody racist nazi is losing its bite.

The reactions I got so far in the German population: They don't care anymore. No one can explain why völkisch is evil. In the article above they try to tell the reader that Volk means mixed races of all kinds and völkisch means just Germans. So German people would include Turks and peopleish wouldn't. It doesn't make a lick of sense. But they cannot condemn the word Volk cause it is in the so called constitution. So they have to redefine it.

I also have strong sympathies for the Puritan Hypothesis.
