The end of net neutrality is a good thing. Hear me out.
With companies starting to throttle services and websites the general public will be forced to make their own internet at a lower cost.
Something like a mesh network of relays like with some public domain service providers in spain.
It will probably be a lot easier to gather support for this stuff now as I only see this popping up in third world countries.

What if the ISP's refuse to provide service to websites that allow the public service to access them?

Well that means that they are intruding on the infrastructure built up by the public service.
Unfortunately there is no way to combat this with no monopolistic restrictions so we'll have to get to thier level and cut their services off too as retaliation.

The ISPs will only throttle as much as they can get away with it. They wouldn't risk losing their customers just to be cunts. Companies are purely profit motivated, they will likely do whatever it is that makes them money or stops them from losing it.

You can also count on the government doing everything in its power to prevent these meshnets from popping up. They would be able to make the assertion that meshnets are used for illegal activity and terrorism and shut that shit down for good.

Meshnets will likely only eventuate if it becomes profitable to make them or if the government goes full Orwell.

Neither of those things are going to happen any time soon. We will just be stuck with boring mediocrity and incompetence until a competitor comes along.
