There has always been this play with gender -identity in human history. However to claim that gender itself is fluid is nonsense. There will always be two three genders, and that which is "in between" alternating with the other two, the crucial distinction is that the third gender is not a gender by itself, but a fusion of the two. It is a pseudo-category which nonetheless exists because human sexuality is fluid.
