I wonder why the scene doesn't start trial runs with webm.
I use it to compress files, and it keeps 100% quality while dropping at least 15% in size.

webm is just a container, it's google's version of mkv which is what the scene already uses.
webms contain vp8/vorbis or vp9/opus encodes. You can only get 100% quality by not encoding at all and just remuxing dvd/bluray but then everything would be much larger in download size. Soon it will be all about just ripping amazon/netflix/itunes videos like what happened to the anime fansub scene.
