EIC is "earned income credit". It's the large chunk of money they give you when you file your tax return if you have children. Any parent can get it and it's not really a "gibs" since it comes from taxes vs your job. Niggers, of course, don't have jobs and can't fill out a tax return … so … moot point, really.

I know there are 2 SNAP programs. One for foodstamps, which is on a sliding scale, and one for monthly cash allotment (FITAP), which is limited and requires that you be actively seeking employment. WIC is some free groceries - very specific stuff - every month until the child is 5 years old; but WIC requires that you have a job.

As for housing, that's a whole different mess. Section 8 and some other weird shit.

1] Monthly drug testing.

3] Must be seeking employment (provably so) unless medically incapable.
4] You have to go to the office to pick up the money. No more of this automatic monthly card refill.

Oh … and surprise visits. Almost like parole or whatever. Your case worker shows up at your door and if you have liquor in the cabinet and a pack of smokes in your pocket, then you lose benefits forever.

I've been poor as fuck. The only government money I took advantage of was a local program that allowed people living below the poverty line buy directly at a "farmers market" for vendor/dealer/whatever cost. It also provided all kinds of shit like recipes, held classes on how to cook healthy food for yourself and starting your own garden. There were two members of the non-profit that organized it and everyone else were volunteers who were using the program like myself. We weren't required. The non-prof had a budget to pay basically minimum wage for workers at the market. We did it because we had the time and the program was worth it.
A federal grant matched private donations, so I do consider it federal program. It helped feed a bunch of White people in a dirtpoor community and also saved some local farms who were going under because people couldn't afford to buy direct.
A couple years after I moved, they went off the teat by gradually allowing more and more people who could afford to pay retail price into the program. I don't know if it's entirely replaced the private donations though. The program isn't perfect, but it illustrates how a community can take care of each other.
