Animator cucking out to become a shitty clickbait internet "sketch comedy"/"talking head" (i.e. cancerous bullshit) type

You got em all.
I actually think Pyro improved when he became a commentator though.

While I understand your frustration, I can hardly blame them for it.

YouTube's changing algorithm fucked animators over. They're pretty much forced to do this to stay alive. That, or go work for some animation studio.

And now YouTube has changed the algorithm again to benefit corporate channels and networks, that can pour out nonstop content, like TV does.

If you want Internet animators to go back to animation, you'll have to wait until a better popular venue arises.

Nice try, egofaptor

Egoraptor is probably fucking his ayylien wife and counting fat Maker Studios paychecks.

Maybe they'll go back to Newgrounds.

Nah, they'll roll over and die, or bend over and take it in the ass. Artists are whores at heart.

According to Tom Fulp, Newgrounds is dying. It's pretty much just a backburner project at this point, while he and many former Newgrounds animators and game makers work in Behemoth at making games.

Arin's a faggot but the truth is the truth

He's not entirely wrong. Youtube is so fucked up right now that even their biggest channel in the site's history (Pewdiepie, unfortunately) has noticed a massive decline in views and people being able to see his content.

The other thing, which I've heard other career youtubers talk about, is that youtube red splits a person's subscription cost and gives it to certain channels based on how much of their content is watched.

So let's say it's 10$ a month for youtube red (don't actually know because I don't care)
During one month, 50% of everything you watch is a pewdiepie video, because you're a colossal faggot. After google takes its cut, 50% of your youtube red subscription then goes to pewdiepie. The remaining 50% is split amongst other channels, presumably only if they are above a certain threshold of subscribers and plugged into youtube's e-shekel program.

For an animator, they cannot produce content fast enough or long enough to make up any sort of meaningful percentage of youtube red viewing. Meaning, they get less money, less exposure through the retarded algorithms, and far fewer e-shekels.

Now, put all of that bullshit aside.. The real problem here is that these faggots thought making a living on youtube was a smart idea. Rather than trying to be animators for any of the big studios or trying to pitch a show to a channel or doing literally anything that involves professional animations, they decided they'd shit out 3 minute youtube meme videos and then bitch when youtube's moronic system doesn't pay out thousands of dollars per month.

Doesn't help at all that a lot of these faggots live in Commiefornia either.

So they resort to clickbait, riding the coattails of the latest trends, ripping off other channels (because we need ANOTHER youtube "show" about e-celebs playing board games badly!) or just resorting to let's play content because they literally have no shame.

Fucking Jaltoid!

Jaltoid so much! God I hate everyone involved with it. It's just some prick cashing in on the talent of his… girlfriend? Sister? Both?

They did that. Egofaggot (and El-Cid) actually worked on Axe Cop for a few months, before the format changed and they either quit or got fired. Oney and PsychicPebbles are developing (or trying to develop) Hellbenders for television or something like that. A lot of them do professional work. The problem is that professional work is time consuming, limiting, doesn't offer the same level of creator's rights that being an independent animator does (Oney turned down an offer to do Leo and Satan for television because he would have had to give up the rights to his characters) and just didn't pay as much as being a YouTuber used to.

The problem is not that these people became YouTubers. Given the platform and its benefits, it was a perfectly reasonable thing to do. The problem is that YouTube changed their platform and screwed them all over.

Everything I want to say already told by this user. I just want to add:

Hey OP, stop being pretentious twat and putting your fucking favourite artists on a fucking pedestal. They are human like us all that need to get some kind of income to sustain them. Animation is never an easy job to do. It took time and dedication and a lot of multi skills to make them right. And they also have to do it mostly alone. With little or no help.

The argument of telling your fave artist to get a job to sustain him defeat the purpose of churning out animations in regular basis to satisfy your need. Job means less time to work on the animation and equal to less animation. And you know what happened when there's less update? ADD people left his channel (and even worse, calling the artist lazy for not feeding their demand) for another animators.

So yeah. Take your pen or mouse or tablet and try to make a 5 minutes animation that's acceptable. And no, stick figure animation doesn't count unless it's from Xiao Xiao or Ffll FlfL.

Example of stupid cunt who knows nothing.

FTFY

Egoraptor stopped animating long before the change in algorithm occurred.

and his on record now basically saying he hated animation anyway

Even during the supposed golden age of youtube, it wasn't paying well enough for animators to do well. Back then they were making the same complaints that they couldn't shit out cartoons fast enough to make good money. Even talented animators like Harry Partridge who got millions of views was getting dicked by youtube.

And yeah, generally speaking, when you get an actual career, it's pretty fucking time consuming and doesn't give you the opportunity to make shitty let's play videos and do brand deals all the time.

The Grumps are pretty lucky, but they don't deserve the success and fame they've been given. Either way, the fact that any of them would complain about the way youtube handles animation is insanely disingenuous, because their current status as faggot let's players gets them more money and special offers than they rightfully deserve.

RubberRoss is working on his own series, though.

also

No he didn't. He's responsible for the algorithm change. That came about because reply girls like MeganSpeaks would clog up the recommended section for his and other Newgrounds people's videos. Oney complained and he got people like Arin and many others to spread the word and get people to mass flag the Reply videos.
This I can believe

FTFY

regardless of what many of these idiots think, you're playing the fool if you try to go into animation on youtube as a full time thing. it's not feasible to work as an animator via self employment, even factoring in patreon and paypal

if you actually want to make money, you need to either freelance or be the contractual worker for a bigger company until you can make a name for yourself, something these ridderall addicted shitheads wouldn't be able to focus on for a second

if you wanted to do animation indie, you're gonna have to make sacrifices for it. you'd pretty much have to do it as a hobby more than anything & grow up from the fantasy of "I can just do this and get by"

I don't know, it's not technically animation but all of those stupid faggots doing webcomics seem to get by.

Newgrounds renaissance when?

most of them don't make it their full time job

They sell books, merchandise, and can host everything on their own site (just jpgs) and don't have to make a cut with anyone else.

Plus ads. if they build up a big enough audience, that potentially tens of thousands of views daily. Even the shitty banner ad companies can make that worth your while.

fat friend

If only the internet was full of edgy teens who made content for its own sake again. Unfortunately the flash animators we all knew and loved grew up and had to make a living.

Only NEET power can save us now.

Everyone wen to tumblr to get popular and yuotube to get rich. times are at an end.

im glad Cyber 8 and Lycan Jonze don't sell out.

I doubt many people know Newgrounds still exists

What was the last time you were on NewgroundsI don't think i've been there in atleast 3 years

Fucking never, cunt.

NG only thrive when internet was new and kids only knew NG and there's not many competition back then.

Now we have tons of sites making flash games. Gaem and pron can be accessed from many sources now. So how many people want to go to a single site? None.

Stop relying on nostalgia and starts looking for new creators spread all over the internet ya lazy twat.

I personally haven't been to Newgrounds in years.
The last time I remember visiting that site is when the final Madness episode debuted.
After that I didn't care about anything that shithole squeezed out.

This

This thread was made for envious faggots.

I don't care for game grumps and I could just as easily say Egoraptor's popular animation work was just poorly drawn, immature, parody garbage, but your criticism of their undeserved success has been made about everyone, doing anything, ever, and in most cases I find it insufferably biased.

Regardless of how terrible I may find their work, I say they do deserve their popularity because they make a thing and their are people that like those things, and that's what makes someone deserving of popularity.

...

...

There's a lot of really shitty music that makes billions for talentless, unskilled, pompous asshats. Likewise, shitty movies, tv shows, and games that makes a lot of money.

The most popular and wealthiest youtuber in the world is a Swedish shitposter who make literally millions off overreacting like a spastic retard while playing Amnesia and jumpscare games.

These are things that are successful and people watch, but they are not good and they are not deserving of success on the scale that they've been given.

Say you make an independent company and hire about 30 animators.
Say you have each one make 1 new short every month, and each animator has to start a day after the first one. In other words
You now have a new animation to upload every day. Of course, you can easily stretch the amount of time to get you a new, higher quality animation to upload per week or even every other week. Why has no company caught onto this yet?
I have no idea how businesses work though tbh, so this might just be a retarded idea. Any jewfags here that can tell me why my idea is shit?

Does this mean we'll that Madness 11 will never come out?
For the love of god that fucking nexus game better be good

Ah fuck, *In other words, todd starts the first of nov, delivers the second of dec, george starts the second of nov, delivers the second of dec, etc.
Polite sage

you missed Oney for OneyPlays

Creative output is very different than mass produced item. Sure you can try the comic book approach by mandating several editors to give deadline for each creator. But the problem is it's not that easy. It started with planning phase where people throwing out ideas on the table for people to animate on. Followed by which creator making that idea come true. The problem is it can always fell out of trend when it was done. If you want fast output expect shitty animation like South Park.

Also remember the creators are not machine. Some may got ill or need a vacation after several months/years working. Also remember that fans refer certain artstyles. So if you have 30 creators working for you maybe only 5 or 8 people got popular in that circle.

Seriously, go check Japanese comic industry, it's just like that and far more ruthless. Sure creators for One Piece, Naruto and Dragon Ball got leniency because they are star artists, but less popular artists are faced with reader polls. If their comics is on the lowest reader poll rating for several months they are facing possible cancellation. It was a brutal system but super honest.

I don't care about getting into an argument about our own or society's worthless opinions, likewise whether or not someone is overpaid, but can I at least find common ground with you that if a million people see pewdiepie and like his stuff, or him, or whatever for whatever reason (and no I don't like pewdiepie either) that he is "deserving" of his fame.

What happened to doing things for fun? People were making these shitty short animations (and all kinds of other things) long before monetization was a thing. Now there's even small blogs that have Patreons and pay people to write for them.

Uh the Shape of the Economy?

Different era. Back then shit animation was still a okay because we got limited amount of source. But now we got constant stream of well drawn animated shorts from many sources. Because of that shitty animations was push aside.

Heck, even OP is one of them. Look at all the animators he posted
They churned higher quality animations compared to most amateurs.

I don't define this as high quality.

and his last animation was an embarrassingly bad love letter to his horrid wife.

what a way to go.

You took the worst example from ego's animation. But it still have clean lines, various colours and mouth movements. Compared to mouth flaps, uneven lines and 2 or 3 color tones from shitty animations people going to choose the former more.

When I think of a high quality short animation I think of something like this.

...

Are you fucking bloody retarded? It was created by an animation studio, paid by a clothing franchise company and had a group of animators working on it. I was talking about high quality animation on the level of amateur animators you idiot.

Stop being an uneducated cunt and learn how hard it is to animate something decent only to get insulted by moron like you who only know how to consume consume consume.

There's a reason frederator gave up on youtube and the whole animation thing on YT, playing a videogame or doing clickbait made more money than new content.

Now that no longer makes money.

Youtube built itself off user-created channels, but now that they have grown to where they have youtube apps shipped inside televisions, they now want that sweet sweet hulu and netflix money.

It's purely business. They can make more money from bigger studios than they can newgrounds animators whose style will only appeal to a short-lived demographic.

They offer nothing fresh other than churning out the same edgy half-assed shit, whenever they feel like it, Youtube gives no fucks about them, nor do the users.

When you market to teenagers, you need to pump out shit as fast as possible, and get it done before they grow up or lose interest.

Crass low brow humor will work for pre-teens and young teenagers, but as they get older, they will grow away from that.

The only idiot who seems to get it, ironically is Pewdiepie. he's slowly changing the content of his channel because HE GETS IT. He knows he has to follow his demographic if he wants to continue making money. He can't reinvent himself or change up too much, he won't be able to appeal to 13 year olds forever. Eventually he'll be getting gray hair and looking older, and then it will seem creepy.

Pokemon and few other series have staying power, but they refresh themselves every few years to keep up with the latest generation of consumers.

aka the 7-14 demographic. If they reel in a bunch of twenty-somethings and some teenagers, it's gold. But their real target are kids.

If they dont reinvent or come up with new shit, they die.

This is why your favorite comics and cartoons reboot at least once a decade, or are "remade"

Anyway, that's the issue, these animators cannot re-invent themselves. They're fucking lazy assholes. They will go MONTHS, even YEARS without an update and then expect the fanbase to still be waiting there for them.

Except whoops, no they arent. They moved on. They now have new interests, and hey, these guys they used to like to watch.. oh whatever. They found better shit now.

Might as well throw in a towel and start grabbing onto the clickbait shit before you have to get a real fucking job.

Homestuck made the same mistake. Hussie decided to delay the fuck out of it. When it ended, die hard fans were devastated because they waited several years for an ending, and it was lackluster because he dropped out and lost all interest and basically had hardcore fans with talent finish it for him. Not to mention he obviously wrote himself into a corner.

If that homestuck game ever comes out, no one will give a fuck. They are all grown up now and moved onto other shit.

Steven Universe may end up on a permanent Hiatus. They are contractually obliged to let the show finish before nixing the contract with Rebecca Sugar, which is painfully obvious that they want to do. All the promo stuff for 2016 that they pushed to advertisers for advert potential lacked steven universe, and there was news recently that Rebecca Sugar had issues with the network. The network is clearly over their "we'll make an episode when we feel like it" work ethic. They may end up just not airing the eps until well into the future to complete contractual obligations. One came out recently, but CN will likely slowly smother that property until no one cares about it anymore, as its fanbase dries up and moves on. (fingers crossed) I can already see it happening. I have some friends hardcore into that shit, and well.. they arent into it so much anymore. One of them said they are tired of waiting months and months for one or two episodes that are 11 minutes long. The other just got distracted with the overwatch fandom (it's terrible)

Long story short:

These guys became cucks out of necessity. They were subpar animators, or mediocre at best. They can only make parodies of existing properties and their own shit falls short.

psychicpebbles pretty much admitted he dropped hellbenders. Claims due to contractual obligations, it's out of their hands. But I highly doubt that.

More like no one picked it up because it was bullshit.

give him a while and he'll be a talking head as well with clickbaity shit.

That or he'll go back to drawing dickgirls.

tl;dr:

cucks cuck because they suck.

No one cares about their crap animation anymore and they know it.

Or you know, they could have just gotten real jobs.
But I guess that option was too abysmal for a Highschool Drop out like Egoraptor.

More like newgrounds funeral when?

newgrounds is dead as fuck. It isnt coming back.

You'd be better off starting a new community that pushes animations and games using an html5 based animation studio built into the site.

or a video hosting service that caters to teenagers that feels as "underground" as newgrounds did.

Newgrounds has been dead for years. It's a memorial of what used to be.

..and unless they plan on converting every animation on that site soon, in 5 years the site will be absolutely fucking useless. Eventually Chrome will stop carrying flash, and open alternatives to keep flash working will never truly make flash work 100% like the original, resulting in broken flash movies and games that relied on old calls that the devs will not want to implement.

this.

Your taxes will be paying to support people like him when he files for unemployment or welfare.

I remember when PBS made a video talking about how Homestuck is the modern day Illiad.

youtube.com/watch?v=MLK7RI_HW-E

Illiad my ass.

I know the difference between a professional animation production and a nobody YouTuber's flash animation, but I also have standards. An amateurish flash animation that's slightly better than other people's amateurish flash animations is still just an amateurish flash animation.

Anglosphere animators can't fucking produce anything decent and just sit around complaining about how uniquely hard it is and how their 3 minute abortions aren't making them a living. Yes animation is hard and nobody said it wasn't, but that's not an excuse for making shit year after year.

LOL standard.

Pick one.

Also just because a bunch of cunts in Anglosphere keep whining about their situation don't lump hard working animators to those lazy cunts.

This is why I have a love hate with this current internet era. Everything is faster now. Information is instant and easily accessed. But the downside is that everyone want their entertainment to be delivered instantly, in a large amount.

Look at it this way: Would you rather have more really good shit? Or lots of barely mediocre shit? Because when society glorifies and rewards terrible entertainment, we end up with more terrible entertainment, and only occasionally get something that's kind of mediocre as a stand out, rare example of quality.

A lot of people are jealous of youtubers, e-celebs, and other low quality entertainers because they get a ton of money for putting out shit work. It's effectively dumb luck, especially in pewdiepie's case, that they got noticed at all, and some quirk in the algorithm and the way that social media spreads, got them millions of views. Lots of views means advertisers and brand deals, and thus lots of money rewarding someone producing subpar shit… And in turn, people copy that subpar formula, and that's how we got an entire industry for unboxers, [blank] reacts to [current trendy thing], female streamers shoving their tits in the camera, and autistic let's players.

Shit begets shit.

Sure, there are millions children and family watching cartoons on youtube. Just look at this 30 mins children youtube video from official morphle TV, released only 4 days ago and reached over 1 million views already.

Or look at other youtube cartoon channels with wide range and international appeal.

His work has always been fucking garbage animation wise, he only got popular because he used a lot of "Lol random" humor that casuals could quote.

Now he's even too lazy to do that, as he'd much rather make shitty "Let's Plays" where he bitches about Sonic.

The fact that this asshole gets hired to do voice work in cartoons disgusts me.

That was actually years old. Was on his old site. Probably from around 2007

That explains so much. But seriously is there another tweet where he said that?

Wrong Ulysses. He's talking about the novel, not the epic.

...

considering doesn't animated anything anymore and barely animated shit back in the day usually just animating mouths and eyes, I hope nobody takes his opinion to seriously.

Not Ullysses, Illiad. Go buy a fucking pair of glasses grandpa.

Do I even like Homestuck? I just want to say how ridiculous PBS sometimes. I mean really,

I cant believe I sat and watched 15min of that

I haven't been to Newgrounds since Madness ended.

...

What?

in the age of the calarts domination of broadcasting, the replacement of 2d animated films with inferior cgi ones, and awful SJW infested writing teams, I'd take all the shitty animations to what we currently get. hell, I'd even take 12 oz mouse

newgrounds.com/portal/view/118826

and hardly a consistent body model in sight
great mouth movements btw. had no idea your chin never moves during speech. then again, given Arin, it probably just hides in another chin

as for color, pikachu's fucking green in this shit

LOL so edgy.

There's a lot of great animators that's not bunch of cucks. Stop being lazy and just look harder and stop complaining about the mainstream ones.

This

what? you mean the dozen or so people who actually put out something every year?

in related news, apparently harry got work doing some animations for one of the Steven Jewniverse creators on the cartoon network app
twitter.com/HappyHarryToons/status/806886457117933568

As far as some sort of response to my question I could dig out of your post filled with things I don't need to be told, I would agree that dumb luck is how many people, including pewdiepie, get famous, dump luck being just another factor in life.

Back then super mario parodies, now and then tf2 parodies.

His last animation was Brock getting cucked.

The Madness were fucking awesome

This is something I never got, it's not actually that hard to get a TV show if you're even somewhat known and are decent at animation. If MDE can get a TV show than the average 100k+ subbed animation channel, the problem is that they never try. They just sit in their corner hoping something good will happen.
It's more of a cultural problem than a personal one, a lot of people have let their personal agency slip over the years which leads to things like this happening.

...

A lot of internet famous artists are doing work for major kid networks, like The Brothers Chaps and Paul Robertson. I imagine it pays the bills.

Oney and Psychicpebbles actually finished Hellbenders

how much you wanna bet it's not gonna get published

You can add Oney to the pile. We lost him to the shitty let's play crowd. Well, at least his commentary is actually funny. But that faggot that got so butthurt at Trump that he protested agaisn't his win and got arrested for it ruined it for me.

That Powerpuff Girls review was cringe

dude seems too lazy to do that. i want proof or it never happened

The problem with that is no matter what youtube does, it cannot actually make decent money for Google. They are fuckin' burning money and Youtube doesn't know what the fuck to do to make money. They are trapped in a situation where Clickbait makes money and they need to screw over their bitchy trustfund baby creators in order to get all that sweet clickbait revenue (Buzzfeed shit, TOP 10 whatever, CinemaSins, etc) but if they carter to clickbait only, the creators will leave and the site will just be Clickbait. The company would ceirtaily go down if there was only clickbait left. It would be nothing more that an overly expensive video site. It doesn't really matter anyway, YouTube will never actually make money for any company that buys it, as it will always waste more that what it makes. It's destined to crash and burn.

1. They could have been in high school, doing that in their free time for fun.
2. This was before the 08 crash and even still before the economy got incredibly worse over time, animators earn pieces of shit rather than money at this point. Taking youtube revenue is much faster and sadly more efficient than spending hours upon hours working on a project that will garner you pennies because a site that has and will never make a profit decided to switch its shit up to make money.
3. The internet was smaller in a sense, in the past few years its grown faster than it did in ten. Quality just wasn't something people cared about, it was what was available and people enjoyed it for what it was. There's less of a reason now to make animation, even shit ones, for many factors. The ease of piracy (kisscartoon, torrents, ect), thousands of other people as competition on youtube, corporation-like channels pumping out tens of videos per day, the odds are simply stacked against you. At this moment in time, the only people you're gonna see making good animations on youtube are k-12 kids with tons of free time, people doing animations for their classes in college and art schools, or just people who are absolutely clueless to youtube's algorithm (these are a true minority, i dont expect more than a few dozen).
I do feel sorry for whoever does want to go into animation now, it seems like the industry as a whole is just a beast now that makes a lot of creative people get turned off from making amazing things. Shitty market value, high student loans for a degree thats very limited in job options, no guarantee of a salary. The group i mentioned, the kids in middle/high school who are getting into this stuff, its going to be a culture shock when they realize that they either have to grind away in an industry that's no longer about them or just make shitty videos for views and clicks.

youtube.com/watch?v=rSP3aFV45mY&t=0s
Matt from the let's play channel. He says he was only watching the protest, not actually protesting himself, but got involved and detained. Which I call bullshit on, he went there to protest but was too lazy and too cowardly to actually do it, so he just watched from afar and got detained because he probably interrupted a cop detaining one of those faggots.

Any link to those fanworks?

yeah, the original post was Oney protesting Trump & getting canned. not the SuperMegaFags

I hated the sausage party one more
then again, I hate Seth Rogen in everything he's in & everything he makes

...

hey, I'm not complaining about no more animations from people like redminus & ego

Unless you plan on doing it for a living then yes, you need to get a job.
When did flash games and silly animations became a FUCKING JOB?

I guess when people saw youtube as a way to replace their current dead end jobs. Kind of what happened with the CA people.

I see a kind of process that takes place.

First you make original cartoons that few people like.

Then you make parody because you want to make cartoons and also have a large number of people see them.

Maybe you do some finely worded reviews.

Finally you go into full Resting on one's Laurels territory and stop animating entirely to start crapping out lets plays or reactions/opinions to things because of that sweet spot of low effort and maximum ad revenue.

What was with Red's strange obsession with Caxx?

...

just read final 2015 updates and watch the ending animation.

All of it was done by fans who got contracted by What Pumpkin to finish it.

Hussie has basically distanced himself from it all at this point. By the time it ended, he made an update about its ending.

Remember when he claimed he was gonna do something bigger and badder than homestuck that would make it seem small? He made that claim way back in 2011.

Then reality hit, His fans were batshit crazy and started fucking doxxing his ass and stalking him and getting details about family members around 2013.

When it require a lot of time and dedication just for a decent 5 minute animation. You told them to get a job but then you ungrateful cunts screaming at them because they don't upload more often.

Fucking this.

the supermegafags are part of his letsplaychannel. It used to be just him, but then he brough these fags along too. There's that guy that I linked, the other one is Spazkid, the gay furfag pedophile. A great cast all together.

fuck off redminus. drawing shitty porn is not a real job.

Fuck, if I'm Redminus I'm going to make a shit ton of porn rather than making animation and got shit on by ungrateful fans.

When "youtuber" became something you could actually put on your resume in the entertainment business

Oh yeah, a shit ton right? He puts out like one animation per years and like five pictures.

Can you even read? IF I'm Redminus. Also that's why he quit, it is people like you who can only scream impotently about how he churn small amount of work that make it hard for animators to make animation. If youtube awarded him better he can make animation full time.

He's Zone you retard. He moved on to porn. And despite that he only produces one goddamn animation per year, and he is getting paid for that so what's the excuse?

He's Zone? give us proof. Legit proof not half assed theories.

youtube.com/watch?v=7g3_diZgU9I
He said he wasn't here, but the fact that he addresed at all despite it being a rather small theory shows something. Also, they have the same style of animation and use the same person for voice acting, Caxx. He also does okay financially and keeps it anonymous because he doesn't wanna get doxxed, since he's on state arrest. Zone and Minus both, that's why Minus doesn't travel outside of his state, same reason as to why Zone doesn't.

...

And then we get to the center of the real issue: They don't actually have the skills to create or run a show. As amateur and often self-taught animators, they lack the training or skills to stretch their jokes into 11 or 22 minute episodes. They don't know how to develop characters or stay on model. They don't even know how to storyboard most of the time. Many just write a script talking about something and just make animations or sight gags that directly play off what it being said. Like, they say "HOLY COW!" and draw a cow with a Pope hat popping on screen.

Only in the past year or two have more and more youtube animators started to collaborate in an effort to release content by a certain date, but it's often to promote something else, like an album, meaning the animation is just advertising instead of the main attraction. Often in service to some bigger youtuber who is using their MCN and Brand-deal money to just pay them up front, with extra payment in "exposure"

That's a lot of guessing. He can always said that he's not Zone because people start spreading rumor. It's a podcast ffs, not some kind of lone announcement. Same syle of animation? How they even come to that conclusion? Sharing voice actor is pretty common with youtube animators. It's not like they are working exclusively. What if he or his parents are rich or having actual job that pay well? People got in trouble all the time, and it's not always the same crime.

So yeah, all you can gave me are all halfassed theories.

You do realize that youtube animators are working mostly alone right? If you see commercial cartoons on TV they have a set of crew from writers to assistants. Even talk show host like Conan O'Brien need an army of writers for his daily show. Writer is the one responsible to make jokes for the show. Not an easy task mind you. It's impossible to sit alone and write a script in an hour with lots of funny jokes. Developing characters also need a lot of time. If you see preproduction sketches a lot of characters are not drawn like what we saw on telly.

So you mad because they sell out? They had to because they need the money to feed themselves. But you prefer to see your favourite animator(s) to live in dilapidated apartment, starving and cold but at least they are "free and independent"

You do know that most people who pitch pilots of their shows write, storyboard, and animate them on their own, right? Yes, they'd be working with a team once it gets picked up, but if the question is "why don't they go pro?" it's because they don't even have the bare minimum skills that a graduate animation student has.

FTFY

I find it funny that you avoid to mention how long it take to make the pilot animation for companies. One pilot episode, 11 or 22 minutes will take half a year to a full year if done alone.

And a pilot is potentially more valuable and opens more doors to future employment and pay than shitting out 1/50th of a music video for faggots like Egoraptor.

It's called Portfolio. You can make animations for other people and use it as example of what you can do. It's pretty common for creative people to make annual portfolio compilation.

And that's only good for getting you hired working in professional animation for other studios which people seem to think is too much work, or doesn't pay well enough, or somehow isn't as good as sticking with youtube and complaining about how Jewgle still doesn't pay animators well enough.

Put the goalposts down.

Well a real job is were you work your ass 10 hours each day of the week so your CHRISTIAN boss can get rich when you can barely pay rent.

I think they just fuck all the time and stopped caring about their Animations, despite looking good they were pretty much just tweening anyway.

But yes I HATE YouTube now.

Everything is reviews and blogs and talk shows, no original content is made, maybe that's the plan, so YouTube won't replace TV, Netflix originals are internet only hope since I don't see a new YouTube alternative emerging nowadays.

It's not like he could use patreon for fucks sake.

...

Yeah I'm not convinced they're the same person but either way they're lazy excuses of animators these days.

FTFY

It became a real job at the same time creating anything for other people's entertainment that you could make money for doing became a real job, just like with anyone that works as someone who makes music, shows, books, or whatever.

It's almost like he's everyone else who criticizes anything on the internet, except he's actually done something in the real of what he was criticizing.

erin please go jerkoff to your fat ayylien wife.

Hey, she's not fat and it was hard finding a real life futa girl, so I did the best I could.

Doing what, incubating the eggs his ayylien wife laid in his heasd?

Based Greg is based

The economy is too shitty to do things for fun anymore.

Who was this? One of the OneyPlays guys?

Not sure

Yeah, Matt I think. And I used to consider him kind of funny too (but he gave off a cunty vibe too tbh)

who is this cuck?

Yes, Matt apparently went to one of those sore losers protest and got arrested, he described later in a post online the treatment he received (which just sounds like a lot of bullshit) it was funny specially the part where people in the comments started calling him a cuck. Ding dong is a faggot too, no more that Matt but he really gets upset if you criticize him or any of his fuckbuddies

Which one was Spazkid? Also, there goes another failed animator/pornmaker.

I'm sorry, but I don't think so

Also he was never a fucking animator

Patreon is far more ADD to cater to animators. Since animators tend to churn out only 1 short animation per month (if the guy is fast enough). It only works if it's a studio with a team.

Dawn Somewhere.

Kek

Still did a lot of shit

I thought it was alright

How the mighty has fallen, he slowly became the typical chris chan troll, he became another A-log, he also draws Mighty Magiswords porn

...

Nah, I fap to Lina Inverse instead of some western knock-off.

you know, whenever I feel like making myself depressed by how many sheep are online writers, I look up "Top x animation" shit
you know who's still showing up in the top 10 in most of them? Even the modern day ones? Egoraptor
why does the internet celebrate this pathetic fuck? he hasn't animated a SINGLE thing in going on 3 years and even when he did he had only ONE animation that I'd call even decent

Instead of crying about Youtube demonetising animation, we should be working out how to remonetise Newgrounds.
I mean, shit, it's kind of a ghost town now, but it already exists, it was made by and for animators and game devs, and it'd be easier than trying to create a new site.

If you guys want a new video website there's one thats called vid.me. It's supposed to be more creator friendly.

Will it work with TaimaTV?

I don't know.

trip/dubs, that site was dead from the beginning
don't fool yourself into thinking that the site's redeemable because they screwed themselves over too many times. almost all of the money made was because people posted exclusively to the website, and it was basically an early site for hentai

the only real way to make money on there was to get all buddy buddy with tom fulp & have him pay you
plus the site's advertiser unfriendly with various factors ranging from some of their earlier advertisers being porn, the site actually hosting nsfw content, and the fact that so many of the people who were heavily promoted on there are not & will never be professional in any sense of the word

Here is a post from his twitter back in halloween of this year, the picture looks very similar to the "edgy" art that he did in his redminus videos

I don't see much wrong with this.

His videos are fine when he's actually talking about stuff and doing reviews, the moment that stupid ghost shows up and he enters in full sitcom comedy mode, everything just goes downhill.

When did he add the ghost? What was the point? Is he gonna start being like Nostalgia Critic and have a story continuity between reviews?

I actually think the ghost makes a good way at being a voice for counterpoints/troll for the review. Pointing out his flaws and fuckups, making fun of him for it.

Give it time I think he'll find that goofy ghosts gimmick. When he first introduced it I almost dropped this series because of it.

But most times he isn't even talking about the review, it's just minutes upon minutes of bad attempt into comedy. Most times I caught myself thinking: "for fuck sake, who cares? Go back to the review already"

If the ghost did the reviews with him maybe it would work better.

Shits that creepy

Just tried it. Looks like fucking shit and the interface is not user friendly at all.

Matt getting really asshurt about Trump winning was weird since it made him a huge hypocrite since he shat on hillary as being worse than Trump before. Oney hanging out with him even when all of Matts old fans make fun of him or shit on him now is weird.

What did Matt do before joining the letsgay crowd?

The Ghostbusters review was his worst so far, almost impossible not to cringe at the Ghost in that episode when they bring up some fan-fiction family shit.

Fucking Hell, I remember them. They got YouTube to remove an entire feature because they abused the shit out of it.
I really miss video replies.

He apparently didn't realize all the characters with the original VAs are adults, while most of the recast characters are kids. Really it's just an half-hearted attempt to have a vision of old/new.

It has nothing to do with "muh youtube boogeyman", animation simply isn't a very good way to make money at all, especially because you can't sell it and have to rely on ad revenue or patwelfareon.

Well if you get really lucky your video goes viral and gets 20+ million views. That fucking "racist mario" video has like almost 100 hundred millions by now.

Same reason as why the gaming market will shift towards mobile more and more. It's just retarded to dump millions on games when you can put a few thousands on a shitty app game and get the same, if not more money.

...

you mean 4chan Holla Forums? Even though this board has its autism bursts.

He will remembered only for his Super Mario parody, but anything else? TRANSformers triggred tumblr and that's it. I can assure that, look at the guy who made Mario's Day Off, no one gives a rat's ass any about his original creations.

Until I read the filename I thought that was JustinRPG

For a while there they tried putting all their NSFW stuff into a separate paysite, "Nudegrounds".
I guess that went down like a cup of cold sick. Lol, what could possibly go wrong with asking people to pay for the same shit they had for years for free? It's not like they could just rip files from SWFchan, right?

Hmm, then again, High Tail Hall is still milking the furfags for GOLD CONTENT, so maybe Tom Fulp is just a retard who cannot money.

Animation is an order of magnitude more expensive and backbreaking than comics.

Even if you don't get as many views, Youtube encourages quantity over quality. Put out shit on a regular basis and you'll get a cult of human dregs following your every sneeze.

See above. Furfags fucking love spending money on vanity and having their fursona get fucked in front of everyone, also.
