Electronicsfag reporting in. Here's what you do:
Get some food grad, 100% silicone caulk. Mix this with corn starch and little bit of water. This makes a play-dough like substance which hardens into rubber within about 10-30 minutes (so work with it fast!). Omit the corn starch and it will be more durable and stretchy but MUCH harder to work with. Take something that is the same shape/size as you want the cavity to be and place it inside. Let it sit for about an hour or so. Remove the jig you used to make the cavity. Let it sit for like a day to ensure the curing process completes, baking soda is optional but a good idea as the curing process releases acetic acid and will make the end result smell like vinegar if you don't react it out. You now have your basic fleshlight which is endlessly reusable as long as you clean it.
Now for the electronics:
Get:
attach the reciprocating motor to your makeshift fleshlight
hook up pushbuttons to inputs of microcontroller (at least one for on/off. add more if you want other modes of operation)
if you want speed control within one of your modes of operation, attach potentiometer to another input of microcontroller
attach transistor to a PWM output of microcontroller, attach transistor to DC motor.
put it all in a case of some sort and you're done with the hardware.
Now the programming:
If you can't into code, don't worry. Basic is very easy to learn and the picaxe website has great manuals. And with something simple like this, the only things you'll really need to know are:
effectively "states" the machine can be in.
it does what it says it does
these are sister commands that, when used together, allow you to control the speed of the motor between modes or within said modes if you went with the potentiometer
Converts the variable voltage coming from the potentiometer (or other such device) into a digital number the microcontroller can work with and react to.
Anything else you need to know will probly naturally come up in the process of reading about them.
If any of this sounds like gibberish to you, google it. If you make this thing yourself it will do exactly what you want it to do at a much cheaper price.
