In the comics it's even more fucked up. They release this terrigen cloud that creates new inhumans and they act like they are an oppressed minority. The problem is that the cloud kills mutants so Cyclops has one of his mutants change the cloud's composition into something that isn't toxic to mutants only to be killed by Black Bolt for disrupting their sacred cloud. Afterwards the mutants are split with Storm leading her group trying to appease Medusa into having peaceful relations with mutants and Magneto leading his group because he's pissed that his people are getting gassed to death all over again. There is a fight but Magneto loses. Eventually, Beast who is now buds with the Inhumans tells the mutants that the cloud will kill all mutants so the only way to survive is to leave earth. The mutants are pissed about having to leave their home so instead of fleeing they fight the Inhumans and go out in a blaze of glory. Medusa upon seeing the attack decides to stop the cloud so it doesn't kill mutants. Mind you Medusa and the upper level Inhumans knew that the cloud kills mutants so they are massive dicks. Essentially, Marvel tried to do the whole oppressed minority thing with Inhumans only for it to backfire and they end up oppressing others. I guess it could be seen as an analogy for Muslims oppressing LGBT or something.

TLDR, Inhumans are fucking hypocrites who play the oppressed minority card and oppress other minorities.

This Inhumans show is being ran by the same guy who ran Iron Fist, the show where Iron Fist never wears his costume or acts anything like the comic book character. It's going to be trash just like everything else marvel does.

Okay, this one seriously pisses me off because they're a royal family. They're all blood related. They're supposed to be the same fucking race.

The costumes also look like total shit compared to the original, which were all "jack kirby space gods" stuff. The only positives I'm seeing here are that the girls are attractive and at least appear to have racks, and the typecasting for Maximus actually fits pretty well here. I'll rundown the plot and who each character is -as well as who/what's missing from this image.

The Inhumans are a Kree (alien race) experiment left on Earth living in a secret city called Attilan, which is powered by an offshoot slave race who keep the machines running underneath it. They primarily appeared in Fantastic Four stories with Medusa (the redhead) actually joining the team a few times. They're superior to humans in most ways, but have much weaker immune systems. Most recently since Fox maintains the right to X-Men Marvel ha been pushing them in the comics as a replacement to mutants in a way that dramatically alters their story and goes 180 against their series theme of isolationism.

Essentially at a certain point in youth you undergo a ceremony where you're exposed to "terrigan mists" which physiologically change you in dramatic ways, often turning the person into a horrible monster, seemingly always based on their natural talents. For example, not pictured here is cousin Triton who was a gifted swimmer, and so was transformed into a green fishman. There's also Lockjaw, a giant mastiff who is the family pet and can teleport to anywhere in the universe (but he still has the standard intelligence of any regular dog despite his appearance.) Note: Two Inhuman were once total dicks to The Thing playing a prank on him where they put a microphone around Lockjaw's neck and convinced Thing that Lockjaw was once human, leading Ben to think he'd found a kindred spirit and hang out with the dog like he was a person. I think it was Gorgon and Human Torch that pulled the prank, but it's been a while, I forget.

Blackbolt is front and center here, he's the king of the Inhumans and in the comics, one of the most badass characters ever. He's a powerful leader with a powerful voice, this was transformed into his voice basically being a gateway to another dimension of incredibly destructive energy. With so much as a whisper he can destroy buildings. In one comic he screams and the entire world is destroyed. He uses a tuning fork to channel this energy to grant himself flight, super strength, and energy blasts.

Medusa is his wife, the queen, and more powerful than she looks (she's hotter in the comics) her hair is alive, every strand is super strong. This seems like a lame power, but she's pretty creative with it. It's super strong, it stretches and she can form all sorts of things with it. She's beaten Venom using it to generate sonic vibrations as she whips him with them, used it to create parachutes, and so on.

Karnak isn't supposed to be Asian, but I can see how they'd justify it. He's a master martial artist with a thin mustache. He never went into the mist, but he has a natural inborn ability to find the weakest point in any person or object. So he can look at a building and intuitively know where to punch it to knock the whole thing down.

Gorgon had powerful legs, in the comics he has super strength, increased speed and his feet are bull hooves which he can bring down with enough force to cause earthquakes. In the comics he looks similar to Hercules, and has remarked an affinity for heavy metal.

Crystal (the blonde cutie) has elemental control of both fire and ice. She attempts to escape Attilan initially starting a relationship with the Human Torch, briefly allying with the Fantastic Four, then joining the Avengers and shacking up with Quicksilver.

Maximus is the series primary recurring antagonist, the jealous and insane brother of Blackbolt who is constantly scheming to take over the throne. He's basically every insane super villain ever. He has an intellect on par with Lex Luthor or Joker, but he's completely nuts, and his primary ability is mind control which he has used on at least one occasion to rape Medusa (they tried making Inhumans really edgy in the early 2000's.)

If they needed minorities they should have just had other characters who weren't members of the royal family appear and then given them major roles.

This especially depresses me because the character are quite awesome in the comics, and also Medusa has consistently been one of my absolute favorite pinups. Image dump to follow.

At one point when Marvel was trying to revive it's romance category they put out a book called "Marvel Ai" which was mostly trash, but had a cute story about Medusa and Blackbolt's relationship. How his inability to speak frustrated her in bed as she could never hear him moan.

The relationship has unfortunately taken a very literal beating in the last decade, which is pretty unfortunate as it was really cute before that. First there was the edgy Maximus mind control rape.

Then when Blackbolt was presumed dead, she started fucking The Human Torch. When Blackbolt returned, she caught him off-guard and beat him bloody for trying to return to the throne. After she ranted about how he didn't deserve the throne because she'd ruled in his absence and blah blah blah, he used his power to blow up his throne, bowed to her with an outstretched arm as if to say "It's all yours" and flew out the window. She acted tough, then once he was gone sat down on the throne and started sobbing.

Because she thought he was dead, and it turned out he actually survived, and instead of rushing straight back to her he was off doing some other stuff with his brother. He was busy doing that (honestly I forget what he was even doing) while the mists were released and their kingdom went into crisis, so basically "I'm pissed my dead husband I was mourning isn't actually dead, and I'm pissed I had to do some work in his absence."

The blonde is. I'm desperately hoping the redhead looks better from other angles, and this is just an incredibly bad shot. I mean, I've seen other pictures of the guy playing Blackbolt where he looks strong and masculine. In that shot though he looks incredibly bland.
