Therein lies the problem: The blue-pill is comfortable, safe, and appealing in only that it is packaged that way. The red-pill is often presented as jarring and unappealing. Some people might be attracted to things that disturb their thinking, but the vast majority of human beings want stability and comfort.

I would argue that the difference in why people will accept blue pills more than red pills is mainly in the way it is packaged. The psychological tricks that are used to make women believe they are oppressed or all manner of false statistics and so forth can be used to introduce red pills too. Great example is confirmation bias, which is used both in telling girls there's a patriarchy ("Have you ever in your life encountered a mean boy? That's patriarchy!") and by Trump to tell people the media is corrupt ("Have you noticed these ridiculous headlines? That's corruption!").

I would say the main problem with the redpilled is that we think simply telling people the stark truth will get them to our side. Might work for thoughtful people or masochists, but not for the vast frumpy masses. You need to sugar-coat it in humor and confirmations and all manner of subtle yet powerful suggestions in just the same way the bluepill messages are. And if you don't like being 'manipulative' that way, you can take solace in that the message you are trying to deliver is one based on truth and reality, evolved through civil discourse and rationality, which will be a check on your goals to (hopefully) prevent you from becoming the same kind of blind zealotry that creates the bluepill narrative.

The way you appeal to the masses is through using psychological tricks to make your positions appealing and, if not comprehensible to them, at least actionable by them. That's all the bluepill does - uses psychological tricks to get people to accept ideas and act accordingly to them. Redpill people 'see the truth' and then don't want to use those psychological tricks because they're 'not true'. Sorry to say, but most human beings are absolute peasants who either cannot or are not willing to think too much about anything. To such people you need things like religion, slogans, simplistic dogma, authority - things that are hardwired into human beings that make them do what is in the best interests of themselves.

Using those tricks like confirmation bias, anchoring, anchoring, and so on are not inherently good or bad - they simply can be used for good or bad ends. But those who 'see the truth' dislike the tricks because they see them being used to circumvent the truth to deliver principals past one's reason. That's why it's so effective for so many people - they don't even realize they are doing it.

And refusing to use those tricks is like throwing away your gun in a war. Society itself would crumble if you didn't have these tricks constantly working. You just need to find ways to use those tools to your advantage as well. Because you already do - you just don't know it.
