As much as I want to fuck Shope, SuperNoobs is awful. The animation is so-so, as in, it does the trick but isn't really remarkable, but the fucking writing us abysmal. Most jokes and puns are practically LOLSORANDUMB humor that is immediately explained (more like pointing out what they said is stupid) by another character.

Really, only DC SuperHero girls comes close to this show in terms of blandness. Season 1 of MLP were almost like refined British humor compared to this shit,

Considering he said "ethnic Canadians" I assumed he mean natives, as there's no other ethnicity indigenous to Canada. If he meant decedents of the first European immigrants, then the vast majority of its population wouldn't count, including most of its white populous.

Packages from Planet X is ok. It's not great, I'd struggle to even call it good. It's ok though, in that it's serviceable and just unobtrusively does the generic action adventure monster and gadget of the week plot that it has on the label.

But I feel that illustrates the point for modern animation in general now. Those three shows up there aren't trying to style themselves in a specific way or even show off an artists specific style of drawing. They're there because the style is cheap and in fashion and either some faux auteur who refuses to color in the lines is in charge or some executive just wanted a knockoff of something that already worked but with none of the stuff that actually worked.

The secret to cartoons is making a good one is hard, but making one that's just ok and watchable is easy as shit. 6teen and it's spinoffs were so bland I struggle to remember anything about them outside of a couple of scenes between multiple shows, but they painted by the numbers and ran a handful of gags an episode and so they made money and got as popular as a show can get in Canada, which isn't much but it's something. All a show crew really needs to do is pick a direction and settle on it.

I think we as a country and an industry really need to just do more of that. There's probably a dozen shows in production across Canada and there are maybe three mediocre ones in the pot, and I'd say one of them is maybe on the lower half of good on it's best day. Focusing on averaging out to mediocre is the reality of where we should be going given the reality of the output.

In the specials and very early episodes, Cyril Sneer was pure evil but as the series progressed he became less and less villainous and more and more of a well meaning guy blinded by ignorance and greed.

Supernoobs got potential that wasted on filler style episodes. But the show actually still worth watching. Not the best and not awful. Just super average.

Supernoobs was such a wasted potential. I mean it can work if they make the story showing the group starts as bunch of noob idiots but slowly but surely starts building their skills until they finally fight the big bad in the finale. Probably add some hints of romance just to entice fans or something.

What I mean is, they can always become Canadian Avatar, But noooo they fucked it up since the beginning.

What we get is this uncoordinated show that juggle between dealing with monster of the day or slice of life of school kids. But rather than juggled by skilled clown juggler, it was juggled by a kidnapped accountant forced to wear a clown costume and forced to juggle at gunpoint.

This is the same scenario Steven Universe. They say it has potential but in reality all it really does is just mimic rote kids cartoon cliche's but act all smarmy.

At least Steven Universe actually show progress. It started with an idiot child that prefer to re-tune his ukulele rather than escaping a death trap. He's a liability for the gems in the beginning but at least he learn some stuff to fight back later on and actually acting a bit more mature.

With Supernoobs, you got the medieval dance party that show progress both in their skill and romance, but then followed by several episodes of pointless stuff that felt like Naruto filler episodes. It's like eating a fucking hardtack.
