I personally didn't get this vibe, it was more that too many shit jobs leading to "better" jobs in awful entertainment for people with shits jobs. It was more about what media has done to people or how it can condition us.

Series 1 and 2 are excellent, all six episodes feel like they hit the right buttons. Series 3 was interesting but it got heavily Americanized which meant some of the episodes didn't feel as relevant. My favourite was the social media one about the stacey with the great social media 'score' whose life just fucking tumbles down, and the VR one with the off-brand Kojima

In the show people work for credits to improve their living condition slightly (like getting a different look for their cube or being able to skip advertisements) but they have awful personal lives and are all lonely. It wasn't an attack on capitalism, it was attack on commercialization and talent shows like the X-Factor
