THE GREEN PARTY IS OFFICIALLY AN ANTI-CAPITALIST PARTY
The green party just passed the amendment to their platform that Richard Wolff endorsed that had embrace market socialism/communalism. A party with national support in the US is officially anti-capitalist.
Richard D. Wolff, author of Democracy at Work and other books; lecturer; Green Shadow Cabinet; founder of Democracy at Work nonprofit organization Margaret Flowers, 2016 Green Party candidate for US Senate (Maryland); co-editor of PopularResistance.org
What happened to American blacks in the last half-century to make them go so classcuck? AFAIK they used to be the most anti-capitalist segment of the population.
Chase Bennett
The incarceration, termination, or usurpation of black intellectuals.
Jordan Perez
The based black community, i.e. Black Panthers, got rekt by the federal government because muh dominoes. So Southern anti-intellectualism filled the void.
On the bright side, it made black food really fucking good.
Alexander Long
I mean that's cool and all but I don't see how communism could be built with pseudoscience hippy shit like anti-nuclear, anti-GM, questionably anti-vax.
If greenpeace et al weren't such faggots it's possible climate change would be far closer to being 'solved'.
Jacob Morgan
Don't know much about black american culinary traditions. What is black food?
James Gutierrez
I'm going to assume they are anti regulated whaling too, eh?
I don't see how that's a bad thing, it's not like we need whale products in the modern world. And the protestations of 'research' by whalers are clearly bullshit. Now Sea Shepherd, those are some environmentalists I can respect.
Jackson Evans
I'm talking about regulated whaling for food. Whale is delicious.
Wyatt Reed
Seafood is for fish people.
Asher Harris
not my comrade
Jordan White
What about crab people?
Alexander Jenkins
them too
Adrian Rogers
Are you vegan?
Mason Brown
vegetarian
Cooper Adams
Wow that's so crazy.
Now, this party no presence in the senate or the house, no chance of electing a president or governor and no significant underground/grassroots intellectual and organizational influence will issue statements criticizing "corporate greed" or whatever.
I mean, this changes everything.
Logan Anderson
they hold several times more elected positions than candidates from traditional socialist parties
Would you only consider vegetarians and vegans comrades? Isn't the potential for revolution low enough as it is?

I was being flippant, I do think an end to animal cruelty should be a goal of communism but no, I don't actively refuse to work with all meat eaters, however is it really so much to ask that we don't hunt endangered species into extinction? That's basically a mainstream view.
Jason Garcia
I agree, it's not too much to ask. However, whaling (or hunting in general) does not inherently lead to extinction. That has to do with the extent it is done. With the low demand even where it is legal sustainable whaling shouldn't be a problem. Issues only arise with underregulated capitalism, with overproduction to make sure the product reaches as many customers as possible.
I also think we have some fundamental disagreements when it comes to animal welfare. Of course, suffering should be minimized as much as practically possible but I have no objection to killing and eating animals. Though I do think consumption of meats should generally be reduced.
Aaron Brown
Now if only they can rebrand themselves from being confused with Green Peace. Watched my boss subsitute Green Party for Green Peace once.

Oh fuck off, you're as bad as the people who try to derail genuine socialist movements with identity politics.
If you have real arguments, bring them up with the greens.
Aiden Brown
Politics can't fix stupidity. At best they can try to find a way to take advantage of that stupidity like all the major parties.
Adrian Collins
Thr Greens hve never had a real argument against nuclear energy but it hasn't stopped them from killing off all hopes of moving away from fossil fuels.
I want to live in FALC not some organic tent village in the middle of a field with either no electricity or just burning coal. Hippie solutions can't solve our problems.

I love my state.
Lincoln Brooks
I think it could have still been a little clearer and more concise but if Wolff senpai endorsed it that's good enough.
Ryan Brooks
Imo they should change their name to Progressive Party or something, they even have the associated color already and the general public wouldn't perceive them as hippies concentrating on non-issues anymore.
John Green

Noah Hughes
I think it'd be easier to get them to realize that nuclear power can be green than to try to get a serious communist/anarchist party in the US.

no sources on it, but I did hear they were going to do something about the anti-vax part in this upcoming platform change

Heavily involved in the Green Party here. Will answer questions, warts and hall about how many socialists are actually in the party etc..
Caleb Nelson
That's really a smear campaign by pro-Hillary redditors. The Green Party platform is huge and pretty to the point. It doesn't try to hide anything nor is it huge and vague like the Democrats. The Libertarians took out all the horrible implications of their policies over the years (like opposing the 1964 civil rights act, endorsing pedophilia, saying that blacks shouldn't be served in restaurants in the south etc, re-segregating public schools, getting rid of all worker protections etc). and just left the policies/
The part about alternative medicine was taken out of the Green Party platform about a month ago before the smear campaign, but the platform changes don't take into effect until after the convention.
No one I know in the Green Party anti-vax. Plenty of people in every party is anti-vax though. This sort of smear campaign is only good for Reddit though because they are so triggered on anything that diverges from their New Atheism fedora-ness.
William Harris
*plenty of people every major party, and it's frequently up for debate on Libertarian forums
Evan Lewis
Fucking Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, John Kerry, and are called, "progressives", it doesn't mean anything anymore.

Carter Jenkins
Wait, the americans "libertarians" weren't around until the 70's.
Levi James
right, but they had a part in their (1984 platform I think?) about overturning the 1964 civil rights act. Now that's still their policy given they want the state out of all functions of business in a capitalist, racist society. But, they just don't list the implication anymore.
Jayden Jackson
Oh, okay, I see.
Andrew Fisher
source is here gp.org/cgi-bin/vote/propdetail?pid=820 They are getting rid of endorsement of certain alternative medicines, in favor of just saying that licensed alternative medicine can continue to be part of a larger range of health services.
Again, the reference to homeopathy was making the Reddit fedoras go crazy. The New Agey remnants of the party from the 90s are being weeded out slowly.
Camden Gray
Of course the Green Party's previous position on alternative medicine would be a *huge problem*, but Bernie's support of
were just a blip on their radar fuckin liberals
Logan Robinson
What's up with the anti science shit?
Owen Cooper
What can I do to reach out to the Green Party in my little porky redneck state?
Bentley Lopez
Am I the only one who gets creeped out by Jill Stein? I smell personal cult.
Thomas Hughes
Besides pedophilia, I see nothing wrong with being against these.

Google your state Green website, and then email a bunch of people on their contacts page. The Green Party is pretty weak in the south though, a few of those states are just paper states for the party.
Asher Torres
It is semantics over how much of it is any different than a natural order of Anarchism. Based on your own local communities which naturally gravitate towards ethnic relatedness and a massive decrease in capitalist "distant vacations for tourism" it really is not different than stateless Nationalism; or whatever you want to do because without the state local communities will find many different ways of solving their particular and most urgent problems.
Grayson Long
You should probably consider suicide tbh fam
Bentley Barnes
Talking about other parties is changing the subject. I can believe alternative medicine is a semi fringe tendency in the party but anti-nuclear and anti-GMO definitely isn't, and those are two giant issues for our food and energy future respectively. It's deeply ironic that the 'green' lobby has done more than anyone to kill the best hope to avert climate change.
Easton Martinez
"anti-capitalist" in the united states = social democratic id-pol nonsense
