It strikes me as the kind of thing that doesn't translate well to live action unless they're doing theatre, too.

Even then while this trend started with Alice and Maleficent and maybe Oz I guess they've been more into just remaking their animated films as live action. This year alone we got Pete's Dragon and Jungle Book and before that was Cinderella. Also Mulan is on the way.
