Libertarian, free-trade "Austrian" economics are not viable any more but were in the 18th and early 19th centuries which is why we moved away from mercantile protectionism, the Federalists were correct generally and readopting their ideas would benefit us but what we would call Libertarian today would have been an improvement to the politics and economics of past centuries.
