How long have you been on chans? If you think you can do better, what are the problems you see now? Don't tell me how you want to correct them but the problems you see at this moment and how dysnomia is not correcting them.

since late 2006. and the problems are that certain things (almost everything, really) aren't being handled as well as they hypothetically could be- the problems are inherently tied to the fact that there are corrections, or better alternatives, so i can't really explain one without mentioning the other. handling criticism or meta threads, or choosing new mods/deciding which mods to axe, or keeping relevant information stickied (which he doesnt do at all, really), for example, are things that I've talked about how i could change.
i've posted pretty in depth explanations on what i'd do, and dysnomia has read them and i'd imagine theyre somewhere in archives, so you can just seek them out or just ask me on individual issues if the answer doesnt take too long to sufficiently explain.

Hmm, I'll give my two cents on what I've seen over the years on how a chan go's to shit and the one's I have seen stay OK… Then later go to shit because of influx of "clubhouse" fags. As it seems now, you want to attempt to fix something but no one can know if your ideas will really work until they are implemented. The risk or problem is if they do not work, how much drama are you willing to raise because something failed in your life? You seem to care a lot about wanting to moderate and have a deep passion for it. That can become a big risk because your over emotionalizing a simple job. People who say "you should be passionate about your work" tend to say that because they want that passion in theirs. But in reality, passion can destroy that job log term. How to maintain something for a long time is to allow it little wear and tare and have the least internal fighting or drama. So here is a question, what qualities do you have that would make you a low risk factor?

i'd be more willing than most moderators on this site, or perhaps of any imageboard or forum, to hand ownership to someone else quickly if i'm not really successful or what i do gets old. contrast w/ dysnomia. if i am successful i'm keeping the board though.

I remember back in the old days when chan sites where basically playgrounds for the mods and what ever temperament they had that day. i have. what would be the point? sure, i tell people to post in it to see what my moderation is like, but it most likely only gets a dozen threads at max no matter how good i manage it (i couldn't even work put my many of my own policies on such a small scale) and then it stagnates and dies and i'm told to just use that board whenever i request board ownership. costs outweigh the benefits tbh

i doubt it. you've deleted threads that people were actually participating in, and at least to some degree in the past stifled or at least tried to stifle opposition against certain things you did. people gave that response. but nobody even participates in these threads except for the op bumping it over and over ad nauseum, people telling them that they're nypa/they should lurk more, and arguments in which the posters, who i'd assume generally care if the board is shit or not, are (frustrating ly) unable to deal with someone who will clearly never understand because they can't just shut him up. i did this on a small scale when i was mod and no one really complained, because people don't want to spend their time defending autists & children. 8/b/ isnt supposed to be a playgound for kids. no one that matters will care, and if you think that's exclusionary, considering everyone equal will lead to the death of the board because some posters will just always contribute more than others. we could use absolute free speech and no censorship for those with the merit to use it for good, or at least those who've shown that they can contribute in the past. for example, & not to stroke my own ego, if i was some rando you probably wouldnt have let me make a thread everyday, but a good mod is discriminatory on whether people's posts are fucking good or not. if theres a massive opposition there'd ways to channel that that there aren't under your moderation. if the board plainly gets better, and you can vote or participate actively, people would get tired of making complaining meta thread over and over. but people enjoy doing it now because it's responsive- either you lock/delete the thread, showing that they've done 'damage' or at least attacked you, or you or a mod responds within the thread. they have no other venue.

making the board more democratic will allow me to make more undemocratic decision for the greater good & in the interest of board quality, because the posters will be more heard otherwise.

You come off giving a vibe of failchan 2.0 moderation. Everyone knows that most of the time moderation can be done by shitposters. So in a seance, we can moderate ourselves when of course we are not being raided by an unfair spam advantage. This is where moderation chimes in, in order to regulate the spam. Dictating what you yourself like and do not like makes the board into your own little hugbox and is basically what your upset at dysnomia of doing it seems. You can't make a "Perfect" environment without heavy moderation to the point that it becomes stagnant. If everyone agrees on everything written then no discussions will be started.

I like this idea. The thread owner will delete everything he dose not like and stagnate the discussion thus killing his thread. Only the smart ones will have successful thread that do not allow a hubox environment. Only problem is you can have new threads pop up complaining about the thread they where kicked out of. So could make the catalog be flooded by butthert threads.

Make a cyclical butthurt thread then.
