Max is kind of an asshole, but a great animator; he's come a long way and I greatly respect that. The only thing I don't like is the pandering parody stuff he puts out now, which it feels like he does mostly purposely for the views.
I preferred his more original work which albeit might have been too dry in comedy and filled with dark juvenile angst, it felt more personal and interesting.

I'd like to see more work like Jerry, or like pic related. I'd rather see more of Max's own ideas rather than just him shitting out parodies, not that I would know it just feels like a waste of his talents, but if he finds them fulfilling fuck me. I doubt I'm part of the majority of Max's audience, not one of his patrons either, so I understand he'll do what he wants or what he has to.

Eh, he's made me laugh a few times, I mostly stopped watching, however, I really started to dislike him with that sausage party review he did, because he wouldn't stop making this 'and I KNOW what I'm talking about(I won an show award)' joke over and over dragging it on more and more each time, by the second time it wasn't funny, third was cringe, and by the fourth(which I think was only like half-way through the review) I just quit.
Haven't wanted to watch anything else he did since.

Well to be fair most animators were fucked over by youtube changing their monetization policy where it's now based on minutes watched as opposed to views.

The new system encourages low effort content and is exactly why vloggers, reaction videos and let's players are thriving more than people who actually put time and effort into their work like animators.

I liked his cartoons when i was in middle school and early high school, specifically pony.mov parodies and his Wacky Game Jokes for kids, but looking back, none of it seems really funny. His animation is a lot cheaper then i remember too. I didn't realize how much tweening he did. Nowadays he just does a lame show where he shares his contrarian opinions with everyone. I don't hate him, but he's ultimately not very good.

The point is that this reason as a whole is why most animation channels and animators have gone dark or moved on to doing low effort long form videos because a 5 minute cartoon that can takes months to animate doesn't net them the same kind of money a 10+ minute unfocused review or let's play of a video game can. It's why cartoon hangover went more cancerous with those 107 facts videos too.

Like the Deadpool example he does some good jobs addressing real issues in the movies world building but as the review goes on he constantly goes back to the pegging scene as an example of why the film is bad.

I would agree with you if the end of the Deadpool review was just him spamming "Pegging is for cucks!!! If you watch a film with a pegging scene you are a cuck and cuckety cuck, here's a buck!" While he mentions the pegging scene several times, the bottom line of the review he hammered in was that Deadpool played most of the big superhero clichés completely seriously, while pretending it was something different.

That's what I'm talking about. But this year was underwhelming. He didn't show movie scenes, he was analyzing stuff I couldn't see. However, now I know the movie Tusk……. that's an achievement… I guess.

I am not too sure about his reviews, but his History of Comics Book and Comic Book Markets are really well done.

But the total amount of time he brings up this innocuous joke in his review eclipses the amount of time the movie devotes to the joke itself. And that's what I should have been saying is that he pads out his videos with jokes that run way too long and are typically unrelated to the point of the video itself.

In his Steven Universe he devotes a good chunk of time to an edited segment of Markiplier reacting to clips from a furry convention which is part of an even larger segment of listing off fandoms that are better than SU fans, or when he discusses the entirety of John Money's awful practices which while informative has next to nothing to do with the review, or rather than concluding his video with a summary of his thesis he just cuts to a recording of Hitler. All of these have nothing to do with the video as a whole and again just pads out the length which as stated means he gets more shekels from youtube.

The point is his humor style is no different than that of Family Guy:

compare that to Demolition D whose able to have most of his jokes be in response to his criticisms and not in spite of them and also manage to have very few videos over 10 minutes in length
