Flintstones #5 is out

The solicit said it was about the political process, but it's really more of a flashback to Fred's and Barney's experiences in the war.

...

...

...

...

...

Wasn't as good as the previous issues, but was still worth a read.

it lacked animal abuse jokes.

...

Shit was dark.

I also have mixed feelings about Bam-Bam not actually being Barney's offspring. Do you think this Barney ever wakes up in a cold sweat and quietly opens his son's room to watch him sleep and thinks about how he probably killed the birth parents of the child he loves most in this world?

I thought it was pretty good actually.

It does show that the writers don't know shit about why the Vietnam war started though.

It's weird how this comic manages to maintain the quality it has. The art is genuinely good and the writing is solid.

Barney wasn't Bam Bam's father in the cartoon either as I recall. Adopted him after finding him on a hillside or something.

Probably

They literally found Bam Bam on their doorstep one morning with a note that said: "Bam Bam." No explanation how or why someone just dropped him there.
I wonder if Barney had a mistress and she just dumped the baby onto him when he was born

I think the story was that he was the kid of some rich family who abandoned him, but I might be mixing it up with a different episode.
Mistress story is plausible, too.

They are cynical in some kind of funny way. It is refreshing they don't go all tryhard.

Election issue with a female candidate standing up to a bully.
Barney is impotent and has to raise someone else's child.
This comic just keeps sliding down.

I thought Bam Bam was part god or something?

...

It's the way things go nowadays. Don't buy big two.

Did you ever watch the Flintstones?

HAHAHA LE CUCK XD

...

What this fuck is this shit? What the hell did they do to the Flintstones?

Did you not see the other 4 threads?

No. I haven't been to Holla Forums in like 6 months.

Oh.
So you don't know about the porn.

You poor clod, you missed these when they were fresh.

Judging by this issue I'm assuming the story was a retelling of Shindo L's "Henshin"?

404 my nigga

My god.

Nah, they had to actually take him to a judge to get him properly adopted, and in an odd touch of realism just because a baby shows up on your doorstep doesn't mean the law is going to decide it's automatically yours. Bam Bam was almost adopted by the judge until he found out his wife was pregnant and gladly let the Rubbles have him.

...

>>>/jojo/

That's true to the source material, though. Even with that aside, there are impotent couples who adopt IRL.

Honestly I am more disappointed in the "baby killer" soldiers in Vietnam bullshit it pushed. Hand grenades are just as lethal when thrown by a child and the fucking VC knew it made the US troops look bad. You don't take children to an invasion unless you are on communism. Don't do communism kids.

The idea is that it wasn't an invasion, you dumdum. It says so in the previous panel. The soldiers from Bedrock were the invasors, and they invaded the tree people's hometown

oh boy, here we go…

The tree people didn't do nothing.

This wasn't their best issue, but I'm still proud of the writers for not using this premise to soapbox about the election.

Treeniggers got what they deserved

Hell, the closest thing to building a wall was Porkbody's plan to build a net over the playground to keep pterodactyls from carrying off kids, and when Pebbles won in the end, she agreed that it was a good idea.

I do think that Mordok and Clod were probably stand-ins for Bush Sr and Jr, though.

The Tree People are an amalgamation of Vietnamese and the Native Americans.

I thought that they were going to reveal that Bam Bam was a Neanderthal and his hair covered his sloped forehead.

Fucking newfags.

This.

That makes less sense

I think its in the more general sense of we killed technologically less advanced people who dindu nuffin.

So wait..Fred and Barney are Stone Age Vietnam War vets? Wonder if they have rock shock in this one (it's like shell shock, only in the stone age)

That would be funny in a dark way. And if they are Stone Age Vietnam Vets would that make Clod the Destroyer Nixon or something?

The Viet cong and NVA were backed by the soviet union and china. And were given better gear and arms in the south vietnam.

I know I'm just trying to explain the mindset behind the whole thing.

I thought China and Russia hated each other though back then?

not during the 60s.

Ok then I remember them splitting apart at some point though.

So its gonna end in six issues? Thats shit, if true.

Something I noticed: the soldier hats that Fred and Barney wear during the war are the same kind that they wear in their bowling lodge. Perhaps the lodge is comprised of the surviving vets from their unit?

Also, Mister Slate masterminded the war so that he could acquire the tree people's land and its resources for his future company. And Fred and Barney are stuck working for that company to support their families.

Also the phrase "yabba dabba Doo" is supposed to calm the PTSD

That is also what I'm thinking. I guess that it could explain what happen to Bedrock in issue one.

Hope not, i actually like this

Doo do do doo

Who'sthe artist?

...

i ddint see the 4th issue, i think

would someone mind dumping the 4th issue ITT?

Who do you think the bully is supposed to be?
Who do you think Pebbles is supposed to be?

I just realized that Fred and Barney manage to survive a fight with an army of full grown Bam Bam Rubbles and Fred managed take a couple of them down.

In the cartoon they were WW2 vets(because the show was created before Vitetnam). I remember a scene in which Wilma showed Fred a picture album of him and Barney, and in one of those pictures it was Barnie carrying a wounded Fred and they were commenting how Barney saved his live in the war.

...

If you push me, I can kinda see the bully being Trump (with that about being physically strong/rich meaning being a better president), but you are pushing it way too hard with Pebbles being Hillary. The only semblance is they are both women.

This. Besides, it was either Pebbles or Bam Bam and Bam Bam doesn't care about these stuff.

This seems more likely.

is there more? i only have this one in addition to those three

You think they'll mention anything else, other than "muh vagina".

There's these too.

You wouldn't believe old pal.. you wouldn't believe…

fucking mudslimes

...

Now I kinda wanna see a Jetsons comic like this.

I think we're supposed to be getting a Jetsons comic soon.

Nice hopefully it'll be good.

I hope so too.

lol did they throw them in gas chambers too?

Holy hell, this got dark.

I love it.

I think it's meant to be a mix of both, plus American white settlement.

I think the idea is simply that this is the kind of shit that happened in ancient times; you want somewhere to live, you gotta kill everyone else in it down to the last child.
