I think there are three genuine problems with the prequels.
1. Anakin and Padme are boring unlikable characters
2. The timeskips between movies mean we never really get to know the cast, as they've grown significantly each time we're reintroduced to them
3. They needed a central villain to appear in all three movies like Vader. Maul could have been it if he was handled better and not killed off so soon.

Everything else comes down to nitpicking. Yeah, some of the dialogue is cheesy and some of the plotpoints are silly when scrutinised, but Star Wars was always that way. It would have been nice if they relied less on CGI, but I don't find it to be something that ruins my enjoyment of any of the movies. The action scenes looked cool, fuck your "muh realism". Jar Jar Binks isn't even that bad, and the complaints about it being a toy advertisment are nonsensical. Are they supposed to not show the cool kinds of things that kids might want to own toys of? Would that make it a better movie?

The entire point is that in each film there's a different pawn of Sheev's that gets dispatched. In Phantom Menace Maul gets killed and Sheev continues on, in Attack of the Clones Jango is killed, and then in Revenge both Count Dooku and General Greivous are taken out, but Sheev is fine because they are merely pawns. That's the whole point.

The Star Wars prequels are shit, and they were known to be shit well before RLM bothered reviewing them.

The original trilogy is an enjoyable simple fantasy series that's a bit awkward at times (especially Return of the Jedi).
