Good modern socialist books

I'm really struggling to find any books about socialism in the 21st century. Anyone recommend anything decent?

Probably because communism failed before the 21 century even began.

Tiqqun

Come on be fair now..

Anyway there has to have been some major works published besides stuff by particular parties and Chris Hedges..

Frederic Lordon: "Capitalism, desire and servitude. Marx and Spinoza"
Alain Badiou: "The Idea of Communism"
Slavoj Zizek: "First As Tragedy, Then as Farce"

All of them were released in the past 10 years, and are great reads.

The book is mostly an argument against capitalism from a social pathology and sustainability angle. The second half advocates transitioning to socialism and then to fully automated communism (which they label as an RBE).

If communism wasn't able to work in Russia it's certainly not going to work anywhere else.

What is it you think made Russia particularly suitable for communism? Because Marx would actually have to disagree with you.

...

So it's never going to happen because it's too detached from reality, even better.

What made every country suitable for communism, nothing. Equality is bullshit.

why are you even here then?

I came here to laugh at you.

suit yourself

Spooky.

Well memed.

lol so I guess science is worthless then?

If communism isn't about equality then it's pointless.

What do you think I'm doing?

There is such a thing as reality, and communism attempts at mend its current contradictions under capitalism.

Communism is about solving the inherent contradictions of class society that will drive humanity into entropy and extinction if left to be.

...

...

Communism is a denial of reality, it denies the reality of inequality and the reality of ethnocentrism.

Nothing contradictory about inequality as said above. There will always be different classes as there will always be young and old, male and female.

Communism embraces entropy, less so than anarchism, by encouraging class warfare which will only lead to the establishment of a new class. The left in general encourages entropy because muh freedom as opposed to the right which centers on order and hierarchy. Humans will not go extinct if we learn about colonizing outer space and FTL travel.

"Reality" as an empty implied platitude again. Noice.

Because ethnocentrism as a spooky "reality" is merely propagated by the ruling classes of society in order to divide and conquer, and more specifically the unification of a "white" race is no older than a hundred years old and was invented precisely to counter working class solidarity.

This has nothing to do with equality, but with material contradictions. Read a book, bucko.

Then why, for the first 95% of human history, wasn't there hierarchy, and why is it being there now an universal given?

Confirmed for not realizing the two are interchangeable.

Pic related.
