Not much hype for S7 in /got/ it seems! Admittedly my excitement for new season is the lowest it's been since the show began as well, probably 3 or 4/7. It just doesn't feel like there's much to look forward to besides drawn out conclusion with hardly anything to surprise us, even if all the leaks turn out false (unlikely). It would be certainly a hundred times better if they did a grand season finale of 14 episodes or something, mustering all the enthusiasm showrunners and all the involved personnel have left and giving it a big final push for epic ending. S7 already feels like the last one, cast members getting all nostalgic in interviews and stuff, but there's another shortened season in store for 2018. Why

Karsi sucked. She was an entirely implausible Wildling clearly written by someone who either failed to understand GRRM's worldbuilding or just decided to ignore it because its . She doesn't talk or act or think like a Wildling. She could have just as easily been a noblewoman from south of the wall or a Bravosi or Dornish. There are reasons that Ygritte was naive in a lot of ways and frankly ignorant but also wise and strong such that she had to rub it in Jon Snow's face constantly. Karsi was too well-spoken and sentimental towards her children in a way that just doesn't make any sense given the harshness of wildling life. They're supposed to be hard people. Karsi was clearly a bone thrown to suburban women viewers much like the Sand Sneks were an attempt to pander to millenial females. She might as well have been loading those kids into a minivan instead of a boat.

These faggots just couldn't create a proper wildling female, flaws and limitations included. They know their peers are watching so they had to make her another "stronk indepdent womyn" with maxed stats who just happens to die tragically (because this is disaster porn, ya know…)

For some reason I imagine Grumm has repeatedly changed his drafts due to fans not being surprised enough by his shit twists or even because they have predicted the shit he is about to write a few times. They should be done writing the last season by now. Their routine so far is that as they film the upcoming season, they write the scripts for the one after it. When it comes time for the season they filmed to premiere, the script for the season after it is finished. When the season finishes airing, the cycle resets: they begin casting and filming the next season and writing the season after that one.

This is how they've been able to keep the show on a consistent schedule without taking any gap years. It's also the reason Dorne plot ended up as such a clusterfuck. The fact that as one season ends, the next begins filming and the one after that starts being written created the perfect environment for hackery in the case of season 5.

When D&D started season writing season 5, The Red Wedding had just aired. The show exploded in popularity and everyone in the media was sucking their dicks. HBO responded in turn by green lighting the rest of the series, giving them unlimited budget, and basically gave them license to do whatever the fuck they wanted. Their egos reached biblical proportions and at this point they didn't need to worry about any resource except for time. Meanwhile, season 4 was being cast and filmed. Of particular note was that Indira Varma was cast as Ellaria. She was famous for starring in Rome, HBO's most recent popular acclaimed show before GoT aired that D&D were fans of and the standard it would be held to. As such they were massive waifufags for her and wanted to showcase her in the show to stroke their egos. The problem was they'd written Ellaria's character and all of season 4 without knowing she would be cast and with the plan that the Dorne subplot would be cut.

They didn't give a fuck about Dorne (they openly admit the only reason they went through with it was because Varma joined the cast), they just wanted to circlejerk over their actresswaifu. So they inserted a plot they hadn't set up at all centered around an underdeveloped character that was a bit part at best at the last possible minute in production in a season that was already overstufffed with tons of characters and plot lines.

They could have just kept Ellaria in King's Landing and integrated her into Cersei's plot, but again, they had just been given unlimited jewgold by HBO and had just become the biggest show in the world. They wanted to show off. So they insisted on filming in a beautiful historical palace that very very few film crews ever get permission to even film in to demonstrate the show's prestige. They were so engrossed with the idea they didn't bother researching all the restrictions involved with filming there that ended up ruining the production.

If you've been wondering why the fuck they retardedly killed off Doran, Trystane and Areo and had Dorne be taken over by a bunch of kinslaying bastard sluts, this is why that happened too! Since you aren't a gigantic waifufaggot, you assumed Doran was a more important character to the overall plot and it would make more sense to get rid of Ellaria and/or the Sand Snakes to clean up loose ends. However, Doran was always an ancillary character to D&D. Ellaria was ALWAYS the focus of Dorne to them with the Sneks as her glorified sidekicks, so in their mind it made perfect sense to just axe everyone else in that plot because they didn't care.

In an unprecedented example of pottery, D&D really aren't that different from Gurm when it comes to actually managing the story. The only reason this franchise is going to reach any sort of conclusion is because the Jew producers at HBO actually have the authority to impose deadlines on the creators and the medium of television outright demands it. Without them, D&D would veer off into the same self indulgent bullshit Gurm went into past Book 3. Gurm started the series with the hope that using the medium of literature would allow him the freedom to tell the story the way he wanted without the constraints of film or television production, but the only time he actually manages to deliver a project in a reasonable time frame is when his Jew publishers are on his ass. After a Storm of Swords came out and sold gorillions of copies, his publishers had basically no power over him any more and this enabled Gurm to become the fat lazy procrastinating faggot he is today with twenty years gone by and the second act of his story only barely delved into.

tl;dr - Jews are ironically the only reason this series will ever get finished, and the teams of people (other writers, other directors, producers, costume designers, set designers, sound designers, composers, casting directors, actors, etc.) that have to cover Gurm and D&D's asses are the one's responsible for bringing any sort of real quality to this franchise rather than just an unfinished, meandering, directionless, shitstorm.

Can't find a single fault in your analysis of Karsi, but you're giving her far too much importance. She was a completely discardable character intended to vary the wildlings a bit and obviously give viewers a false prospect of Snu's new love interest. Sticking to ASOIAF's canon-like characterisation of wildlings would draw far too many parallels to Ygritte and wouldn't make Karsi stand out as much as she did in her limited screentime only to die horribly - for the exact reason you pointed out (because this is disaster porn). Not saying "just turn your brain off dude lmao" but it would be far worse if this was a book character, where depth and believability play far greater role than they do in TV show. Karsi functioned well for what she was supposed to do in my opinion.

There it is then, two years later and this perfect explanation of Dorne disaster turns up. Never bothered to think too much about it except the obvious Girl Power pandering and overall failure to do anything noteworthy with a plot that could have been (and should have been) omitted altogether, considering how dull and criticised the respective source material storyline was as well. But all of this along with the awful production value shown in the Snek fight for example makes sense now.

I liked her at first, then she started giving orders and acting like if she was smarter than any adult who is in command. I haven't read the books but I feel like it's another "perfect female character" written by D&D.
The actress is pretty good at her job but I just can't stand the character.

I'm sick of GoT, it started pretty great but the writing went downhill season after season, too many characters for so little screentime (I started hating the show when the sand snek appeared). I'm still watching the show because I want to see the end, like Lost.
