Shit stopped happening. Holla Forums.co became popular largely through imageboard drama. It was great because of imageboard drama. Gamergate drew much of the party lines, /baphomet/ acted as a pseudo-terrorist organization, shit happened and kept on happening. Every week shit would hit the fan over something some sub group on here did to piss of some other sub group or someone on the outside. The fallout would always last for weeks to come while new shit kept on happening. There was a good deal of nationalistic pride here. People liked knowing that this was their home and they looked forward to shitposting in the threads pertaining to their particular conflict.

But then people stopped caring. The less evident it became that were were being attacked by outside forces, the more evident it became that the administration here is largely incompetent. Now all the big happenings aren't lizardsquad DDoSing us, they aren't Holla Forums raiding us, they're the result of chucklefuckery by those who run the site. We're nothing, now. There are no teams, there is no glory, only habitual shitposting about the occasional interesting topic that comes up. The only thing keeping most of us here is the fact that 4chan is awash with normalfaggotry and all the other chans are more dead than this one.

i can tell you that after the cats cradle threads we still had problems. We kept getting more and more 4cuck faggots flooding this place. I remember this one guy kept making "teen" threads and the same exact pictures would be posted in it every time. The OP would also only post 1 or 2 pictures and wait for others to contribute the rest. I hated him because he was a lazy fucker who didn't contribute and because he was turning this place into 4chan tier porn and dickrate threads.

Then we had to deal with the pedos and pony threads. Both had constant cyclical threads on the board and often made misc threads. So on a board titled "random" there would always be around 4 or more threads partaining to pony fuckers/pedo's. We weren't even anti pedo or pony fucker, we just wanted our board back and for them to go to their own board for their cyclical shit.

It wasn't our fault, we tried to stop it but we were overrun. I eventually left and only browsed Holla Forums for quite some time. Only coming back recently I see we are still arguing against the pedos but somehow managed to get the pony fuckers to fuck off.

The two biggest things… are actually quite contrary.

I'm an 11+ year old IB veteran and I've seen everything on just about every surface imageboard there is, and the one thing I can confirm is that if oldfags are actively contributing to the culture of their board and telling newfags to lurk, hell even belittle them some, it adds character; the board will stay fresh and fun and build a great community.
