Rand didn't. She was playing around with things like state-sponsored lotteries or fees that you pay to the state to make a contract enforcable to avoid having to support taxation. Why she didn't just go fully ancap, I will never understand.

Still, I agree with you that minarchists exist, that they're probably the majority even now, and that libertarianism started with them.

There are some ancaps that think the free market will bring about a more egalitarian and less sexually restrained society, that it will end hierarchy in the work place and so on. Even Rothbard wrote an essay once on how to redistribute property after an ancap-revolution, back when he was sympathizing more strongly with the left. That's not the ancap-mainstream and I think these views are mistaken and unfounded, but they nevertheless exist. They're compatible with the hard core of anarchocapitalism, too, the beliefs that government is illegitimate, that the initiation of force is illegitimate, that property must be respected, and that the workings of the free market will bring about the most desirable results.

People who self identify as centrist are generally the most pseudo-intellectual fucks.
They think having views from both sides somehow makes them special without realizing that literally fucking no one agrees with their "side" 100% and think identifying with a particular side automatically means you're irrational. They think everyone else thinks "i am on this side therefore I think this" rather than "I think this therefore i am on this side." In actuality, most people look at their views in order of what they find most important and decide what label most closely suits them.

Very few people conscider themselves to be radicals/demagogues. the vast majority of people see themselves as being moderate and leaning one way or another. Though it is quite common that they assume that the people on the opposite, and even their own, side are more radical than they actually are.

As far as your post goes: What do you mean by "no ideology?" Do you mean they don't have opinions? Do you mean they simply don't care? "No ideology" can mean many different things in many different contexts. You're correct in saying that a "slider" is insufficient in describing one's viewpoints, as most people employ quite a bit of nuance in their views, but it can be a useful visualization. This is especially true when talking about a specific issue.
