American college student here...

American college student here. I'm wanting to pick up another language to make myself more valuable to employers and to expand my job opportunities in the tech field.

Politics aside, Trump has been elected. That is a fact. This means relations with Russia will be greatly improved. On the other hand, China is China and it is huge. I've narrowed down my third language to either Russian or Mandarin Chinese.

Which will be more valuable? I imagine Trump may harm US relations with China to the point that job prospects there could be greatly impaired.

I already speak German.

learn arabic or whatever language gets you to the right board

Javascript.

The sticky is -> way.

yeah lel learn mandarin faggot, and end up communicating with the chinese all day until your job gets off-shored too, brilliant idea. it'll make it that much easier to go through with killing yourself. In fact, you'll be so valuable to your corporation that you'll be able to afford a gold-plated diamond-encrusted pistol to do it with.

Might as well kill yourself now.

Judging by number of Chinese students overseas, there won't be any shortage of English speaking Chinese.

Try Russian, though I'm pretty sure there are plenty of Russians speaking english.
Though who knows how the American-Russian relationship will unfold once Trump gets impeached

Why are you asking this on Holla Forums?

blogs are technology

Not to mention that there is no Chinese language only dialects, of which more than 200 exist. A good 2/5ths of Chinese people cant even speak Mandarin. Major power houses you would deal with in business such as Hong Kong use Cantonese not Mandarin.

Mandarin is the official language
The 2/5 who cant speak it are literal serfs
Major Major power houses you would deal with in business such as Hong Kong all know how to speak Mandarin

...

Anything Chinese that existed before 1955 is dead, it's gone, its own people did their absolute best to wipe it from existence. If you like Bai Juyi's poetry you might as well go to Mexico as China, either way nobody speaks the language and nobody cares about it. The only culture China produces today are knockoffs of Korean music and ten thousand nearly identical movies and TV series and plays and books and games about the Three Kingdoms because that's the only thing the government won't throw them in jail for.

are you fucking idiot?

learn european and run to europe, america is 3rd world corporationist shithole
you already speak german, why aren't you at europe then?

jfc do not learn Chinese. Those people are cockroaches and dealing with them on a daily basis will make you suicidal quick.

So english?

There's more to culture than just physical trinkets. Many parts of Chinese history is widely documented. History is culture.

It says it right on your map you retard.

Yeah, I bet nobody on a tiny little island will ever bother learning the official and major language of their economic zone. Who needs access to such a huge market! Besides, it's no like they are being oppressed and forcibly assimilated by a Mandarin speaking imperialist government...

requesting DON'T LEARN MANDARIN.jpg

Who is this semen demon btw?

If you learn mandarin you will be cursed with having to deal with chinese for the rest of your life

Learn Japanese like a proper weeb.

I have a friend (white) that has parents (white) that had him learn mandarin. You know that meme something like "you need this because this is where the money will be in the future".

It was probably over a decade ago that he went on his first university trip to China (he was no impressed) and after graduation (he's an electrical engineer) he worked for a large Japanese firm. He's since pretty much fallen apart and I don't think he's happy with the specializations he made on his education.

that's a dude you faggot.

Learn whatever you enjoy, as the biggest problem with learning your first language is motivation. After you learn the first new language, the others will be easier.

Get ready for a good read, OP.

Hindi

Prove it.

Wow some faggot on a chan wrote a story, lets plan my life around it

I doubt it. Trump LARPs as the A Team and China LARPs as commies, but when it comes down to business they will still talk even if only off-camera.
Assuming you're looking for a Holla Forums job, I'd go for China over Russia. Russia unfortunately is kinda broke. China invests a lot in tech because they know they will be fucked if they don't change their economy from building cheap shit to designing and building expensive shit (problem with the former is their salaries are going up, so they will stop being cheap at some point).

He could work elsewhere if he really wanted to, even if he only has a Chinese diploma he can get it recognized elsewhere unless it's from a really shitty university.

This is one set of anecdotes. It's not so difficult to get more anecdotes from people who personally deal with Chinese businessmen. If you do this, you'll find that these anecdotes are not only common but culturally accurate.

Instead, employers should open their wallet to make themselves more valuable to YOU.

you're delusional dude, we're on thin ice between Iran, China, and Russia. Steve Bannon said it himself we're going to war with China in the next 5 to 10 years. So I suggest learning Russian or Mandarin, maybe being a translator will save your ass.

I only hire programmers who know nothing but C. Anything else such as that nonsense they call C++ or C# shows they want to be snowflakes and completely lack any desirable level of proficiency.

It would probably be more useful if you just got better at whatever you were doing. If you're working in the "tech field," employers are going to hire you to get a job done, not to bantz with clients.

He's right thought. It's dead. It stopped being a viable alternative to Western culture a long time ago.

Don't learn Chinese or you'll have to deal with Chinese people. They are greedy as jews, r-selected as niggers, and complacent like cucks. Plus most are NPCs.

Last I checked japan still exists?

Plus it's a language with a cultural output read cartoon porn attached to it.

I hate to be that guy, but do you have a source on that image?

I think he was talking about how 'anything Chinese that existed before 1955' still exists in japan, what with them being a minor copy

Не будь идиотом, в сраной рашке никаких производств не осталось. Проедают остатки наследия СССР, да и только, а раньше все воровали у США.

If you learn Russian you'll be able to communicate with anyone in pic related countries, you'll be able to read classic Russian literature in its native tongue, and you'll be able find a beautiful conservative Slavic waifu. Slavs are bro-tier as well, so you'll probably make some good friends along the way. Business-wise, you might get to visit some pretty cool cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg.

If you learn Chinese you'll be able to do business deals with scumbags and pick up girls with frying pan faces. You might even get to give yourself cancer via the polluted air of Beijing if you get sent there on business.

...

So much this, tbh. Everyone's qt aryan waifu folder has some slavs on it.

No.

Yes goy, don't reproduce, all women are shit.

I used to live in Africa. It looks like a typical third-world city, except one run by Asians instead of Africans. Roads aren't full of holes. There weren't any dead bodies on the side of the road. Generally clean, but undeniably third-world.

None. Edge doesn't have browser extensions

c++

learn Python and/or Javascript
c# if your a gamedev (or want to be one)

...

No dick pics, no proof.

Fucking colorblindness

Don't bother with that exotic shit. Go with the main Romance languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian.
