Haven't they been talking about it for years and it's a spin-off of the Clooney films rather than a proper reboot? Like it was talked about last decade but went on the backburner after Oceans 13 underperformed.

I never cared that much about the Oceans series, which was already a reboot anyway, so even if it were a proper reboot, it wouldn't bother me nearly as much as Ghostbusters.

I don't care, at all, about an all female Oceans whatever movie. I didn't care at all about any of the Oceans movies. I watched the first one because a friend put it on. I know I saw the other two, but can't remember the conditions or whether they were any good or not. I'm indifferent to that series entirely.

I think that doing the "we're gonna make an all female X" will never work out. If that's the merit you're trying to sell your movie on, then you have only novelty and no substance to work with.

They'll try to make the female characters analogues to the male ones and fail. They'll try to give the female characters beats that are analogous to the better ones from the other movies. And fail. Because you can't just plug "muh vagina" into another formula and expect it to work.

There's more to telling a fucking story than that. I'm certain that I will not bother with this movie because I don't see how it could possibly be good and I don't care at all about the property. At all.

Was board so I just watched Ocean's 12 and 13. They were entertaining, I wouldn't really call them great movies though. If this all female one goes through expect it to be about the alpha bitch getting revenge on an ex or something.
