On the eve of their "farewell" party, some merry user has covered Nick " So Broke, My Asshole is Up For Rentin' " Denton's neighborhoods with wanted posters.
The posters claim to be produced by "women against revenge porn," (W.A.R.P.)
Photos suggest they are in the Flatiron District where Gawker and many other tech and media businesses are located.
The posters list a set of "crimes" including "publishing nude photos of a minor, criminal invasion of privacy, lying to a federal judge, blackmail, extortion, stalking, revenge porn."
Also mentioned are "unindicted co-conspirators" including "Buzzfeed, Ziff Davis, The Rubicon Project, Glenn Greenwald, The Intercept, The New York Times."
Last month Congress introduced an anti-revenge porn bill, which some are referring to as the 'Gawker Bill.'
Denton's company Gawker Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June after a Florida jury awarded the based Hulk Hogan $140 million in a lawsuit related to leaked sex tape. The jury found Nick Denton liable for $10 million. He declared personal bankruptcy earlier this month. A bankruptcy auction for the company's assets is set to take place early next week.
Tonight, a farewell party is scheduled for Gawker, the question being; does any user have an idea where the party is being held?
