I don't know how anyone could ever start watching it. The animation is god awful and it's written like bad fanfiction that's been soaked in the worst parts of weeb behavior.

I dont really know why either im to far in to call it guilty pleasure but from what I can say volume 4 will make or break the show since monty is dead and his 2 fuck boys are in charge now.

Those people know their material and have a general idea of how a character should sound like. Plus it's a comedic web series. Even bad voice acting there can be played off as a joke. Whereas CockTeeth want to have a serious animaymay show with comedic bits. While understanding neither comedy, action, plot, or anime in general. Thus they fail to deliver anything and everything.

The first two seasons were alright.
The show was pretty terrible but it was created by a man who was very passionate about it.
After many years of hard work he can finally live his weaboo dream and create his very own animu.
The show itself is about a girl going to ninja school and fighting monsters or something.
It may be terrible but it's has it's charm because this one weaboo puts all his love and energy into this and you can't help but appreciate that.

And then the man got killed by a cat.
After that there is pretty much no reason to continue watching this unless you're curious how much worse it can get.

From the first impressions of V4, from watching the series it was pretty expected they'll be going without Monty. There's Shane's letter which explains how RT basically what on Monty's vision.

Now, it has a new coat of paint, and fights haven't improved… Yet

The only things that keep people who aren't tumblr or 14-year-olds who love anything animu watching are the fights and the music or stockholm syndrome.
Don't watch it if you can't tolerate high amounts of dumb bullshit, bad 3d models, and unexplained plot elements. It took them three goddamn seasons to even mention the fucking seasonal maidens, when that should've been mentioned in season one. And don't even get me started on how badly they messed up the faunus/White Fang.

Jaune losing Pyrrah was always intended to be his "my parents are dead" moment, and that's why Jaune and Ruby bonded so firmly in the first few episodes. You're going to see Ruby x Jaune become the actual canon pairing as they return to old comforts in new and uncomfortable times.

The contrived and maudlin Beta-Cast romance plot they're still stretching out after killing off one of the paired characters? What has this show done that utilized more depth and creativity than just copy-pasting the top results pages off of TvTropes in lieu of a script? Even their model assets are stolen for fuck's sake.

They stole new better models and used the money from all the 12 year olds that've thrown all their parents money to anything related to this show.

They have upgraded the animation a bit, but all that it accomplished was make the final product more extreme in its hit-or-miss margins, I don't feel it's better on average compared to before. All the models are sleeker, but half the outlines are straight-up fucked now, and the shadows occasionally get glaringly broken. Characters can convey express and emote better, but their fighting animations are already measurably shittier, their non-action movements are still stilted, and RT insist on doing that godawful animu off-model bullshit. It's all just a mess; crisp new tools and techniques bought and played with by idiotic wannabe-bigtime hipsters who have yet to realize the enormity of what they did in killing the guy in their clique that was not only exceptionally talented and driven, but in fact the only individual there with talent or drive at all.

This is probably one of the better fight scenes but a lot of bad stuff can still be said about it. Though it'd be more about the bad stuff of the show in general rather than this one scene. Really the biggest issue here is that somehow it still feels stiff. Like this is probably some of the most motion we've seen in the series but it doesn't feel right just yet.

The animation's kind of slow and the movements less elaborate, a lot of boring old kicks and getting flung around. When Monty was animating them the combat had a lot more flash going on, there's less exaggerated exchanges.

It's not terrible by any means, but the drop in quality is noticeable.

I read a while back that jap animators do a kind of "jump" when they animate swings or action movement by having more frames before the quick action and after it then filling in the space between with as few as possible well still conveying the action. I'm pretty sure monty knew how to do this and all these people who have followed him dont.

Don't delude yourself. Monty made this show but didn't make anything about it good. The action was meh and everything else was shit. Nothing Monty did made this show bearable. He's the mind that conceived this abomination in the first place.
