Several reasons, first being that numerous parties in the comics industry, including the comics "journalists" themselves, would love nothing more than some gamergate sort of thing to give them relevance and give them attention. Comics are so close to complete insignificance that even mild harassment would be a god-send.

The other thing to consider is that there really is no need for action on this. They'll pull it, which means shops will cancel the orders they made to get the variant, which means the book loses sales. Invincible Iron Man only sold 48,394 last month, so the censorship hurts Marvel far more than it hurts us.

That's the way comics are. There's really no need for action as the big two will fuck up all on their own.
