We were gonna start uploading the new artwork onto the co booru.

The two we've got here so far are Loan Shark, biggest crime boss in the city that Holla Forumsnner operates in. Then there's Bubonic, a rat mutant who lives out in the sewers with his mutated colony. We're still getting the others drawn, we just got some new artists and putting them to work.

Granted Holla Forumsnner's rogues gallery isn't huge in the Verse and he shares it with two other heroes.

I went to Holla Forums to try and make sense of the sudden seemingly unwarranted drama in the thread, and found their OC thread. In addition to their regular tans Alunya and Rodina (who now also appears to be a catgirl), they've now gained 20 new tans, each corresponding to some political ideology. Suddenly Holla Forums with its 5 tans doesn't seem so bad.

It's less 20 tans, and more like, you know. Sable on /tg/ or Vivian James on Holla Forums. It's mascot-related expanded cast. Holla Forums's tan is still just Alunya and Rodina as her Gilda.

What happened basically was that a drawfag appeared after being kicked out of reddit, liked the mascots, and started having ideas on how it'd be fun to use the setting of catgirls (alunya et al) to make some sort of propaganda thing. Rodina was made into a catgirl too to fit this setting CatgrillDrawfag then imagined (and because she didn't react well to Rodina porn, so she aged her up. IIRC at least that was the motive) It's basically just making ideology-tans, the only relevancy to board-tans is that Alunya causes a crossover. They're really not Holla Forums's mascots (not all of them at least, some might end up being adopted by user use if they're appealing, namely the ones that've been given names by anons already).

Have in mind that Vivian is around 16 here, and that she has a really strong sense off justice. She deems unfair blaming the kid for her father's sins, as she has experienced that same thing before on herself.
I think what hurts Vivian the most is not Gilda's misery, but Holla Forums's lack of empathy with her own story, as she had to endure the same treatment before.

But, I would think that Vivian is a girl, so, even being hardened after all the events that happened, she is more emotional than Holla Forums.
And, let's say she sees a bit of herself in Gilda too. Now, she knows she can't really question how Holla Forums reacted, he have the right to not like her and not allow her in his home, but to her, it's different, because she can relate to the feeling of being abandoned.

Now, I would see Holla Forums helping Vivian help Gilda in some way, but not bringing her inside. For better or worse, it really makes sense to Holla Forums not liking Gilda, but hating her would be weird.
The drawing is a bit weird, but I enjoyed the idea of an older Vivian.

The assumption is that Vivian is basically a "good" girl gamer, namely just a girl who is as passionate as Holla Forums about games. Basically, every girl you had a nifty time playing with, shittalking and discussing the medium vastly, is a Vivian. Imagine girls who visit Holla Forums as daily as any old Holla Forumsirgin too.
They're still girls, and what that entails is that they still have a "girly side". Something very reminiscent of that in Vivian's design is her clover/infinity headband. It's a tiny detail that is there just to look cute. That's proof she remains "girly", while not allowing it to control her emotions and interests.

Also, something that comes back very, very often in tan stories, is that the various characters are all somewhat stereotypical but extremely well defined, by small bits of affection and emotion. Holla Forums for example, the always raging and doubtful prick, will still prefer keeping his cool and ignoring people and things, until you shittalk good games, defend bad games… or hurt the people he loves. Like Vivian or /a/'s cock. If you tell Holla Forums he loves Holla Forums or Holla Forums or Vivian, he'll tell you to shut the fuck up and punch you if you keep going. If you call Vivian a cunt in front of him he'll punch THROUGH you.
That's how good characters are written, by the emotions they do not control and the emotions you do not expect from them. And the fact so many great artists and writers worked so simply and affectionately on those characters through the years is testament of what imageboards are actually like : if you just look at the surface, you'll just find shitposting assholes telling each other to suck a dick, but the minute you look deeper inside, you will find the most caring and passionate heart.

Val worked on a Vivian James VN with some people before. Big surprise when it turns out he's a shitty writer and can't handle people not liking his ideas. Even if you point out why his stuff won't work he'll raise a bitchfit to hell and back.

TLDR Val is a pretentious ass who thinks he's special on chan for namefagging but covering up (unsuccessfully) that he is a depressed wreck and chans are his only source of social contact.

I don't buy the depression thing. If you're depressed, constantly pissing people off and then lying about the reasons why they're angry at you later wouldn't cross your mind. If you're depressed, the fact that you got tons of people to hate you would depress the hell out of you even more, you know, guilt? This means he uses depression as an excuse to one, cause people to unconditionally feel sorry for him and two, fool people into rationalizing his "faults" which are more like negative achievements (Holla Forums musical anyone?). Third and most importantly, making people feel sympathetic to you is how unsavory people all throughout history have gotten people to follow along. If you want to manipulate people into doing stuff for you, the easiest way is to make them feel sorry for you and give them lots of praise in the process. That's what Val does on a daily basis. If anyone has been there when he's caught fucking something up, it's as if suddenly his praise and sweet-talking to people goes out the window and he switches to scorn and spouting petty "everyone is against me I didn't do anything wrong" speeches and begins inventing stories about how he's constantly mistreated.
