I've been thinking about something like this for a while. Isn't it funny how when everybody was or at least thought most people where just normal. There was no pedophilia or kidnapping panic. Kids can't walk anywhere anymore. We used to walk into the next town and talk to the heroin addicts. That was only around 10 years ago.

I actually work in a place where shit like this comes up.

I wont give all the full details, but lets just say there are teenage boys and girls there. Men who work there are watched like fucking hawks. We're not allowed to sit with or socialize with the girls, we're not allowed to be near their rooms, we're not allowed to be "alone" with even a group of them to supervise them. We're treated like we're already on a sex offender list and if we're left alone for 1 seconds with the girls? That we'll instantly try to fuck them, cameras or no.

On the other hand, the women that work there? No such restriction is applied to them. they are allowed to socialize with, sit with, engage with, be alone with, go in the rooms of, etc, the boys.

Over a few years, we've had zero instances of males engaging in inappropriate ways with girls. Hell even the few times the rules have gotten broken, nothings happened, its more like watching a big brother and little sister interact (and no not in the weird anime ways), but yes shit gets immediately noticed and "reminders" sent out by management that are mostly just veiled threats to the male workers to watch their asses.

But once again, on the other hand, we've had at least one instance a year of female workers being massively inappropriate if not out right sexual with the kids. One was caught sleeping in one of their beds and fired for it, but they WERENT fired or even reprimanded for letting a girl who was wearing nothing but her underwear sit against her and play with her hair (the woman was known to be bisexual by coworkers mind you). We also currently have one woman on probation for inappropriate sexual remarks to a kid. AND we have another woman who is cock teasing the boys there by flirting with them, wearing tight "booty" shorts every day, blowing kisses at them, and laughing/smiling at their flirtations/cat-calls towards her. NOTHING has been said to her or done about this situation, management is not in the dark about whats going on.

You cant leave the building, there are metal detectors at every entrance, kids are searched when they get to school and arent allowed to leave until the end of the day unless their parent/guardian comes to get them, etc.

Anecdotally, when I was around 6 and had gotten separated from my dad at the mall I'd been approached by a man who pointed to some in-store banner and said he took photos like the people in the ad. He told me he would like to take some pictures and to just wait here a few minutes (probably to get his free candy abduction van up to the entrance). In a mixed society, trust is low. In a racially and culturally homogeneous society, trust is higher. Is it necessarily "good" that trust is higher? Maybe.
