A long time ago I was a centrist out a desire to be moderate and accepting and all that good stuff, and because I didn't know much to base a political leaning on.

After that I had left leanings for a long time, because of how it was advantageous to my family, and because of on-line acquaintances and, well, because of TV, specifically various Comedy Central shows.

A few years ago a preponderance of sources that I trusted seemed more angry and less willing to compromise or take the other side seriously or sometimes even have a real conversation about left-right issues, and that pushed me toward the center. A year or three later I met someone who, after a while, started linking me right-leaning articles that made a lot of sense, and that pushed me further to the center, as did the realization (which I'd suspected already) that the stereotypes of the right that are spread by the left are often wrong.

(1/2)

Over time, the articles this guy linked made less and less sense (but still had a point or two to make, usually) and became screeds against the left and pleas for a return to how things should be and all that jazz. (As often as not these were more about social issues but still brought politics in, often by saying these issues were the fault of people on the left.) That made me see that, actually, those stereotypes about the right are often true– but as they went off the rails, these articles had more and more things to say about the left, and more negative stereotypes to bring up, and I saw how often those were also true.

So here I am, a centrist again by way of disgust and disassociation, but also because I cannot, in good conscience, refute certain ideals on the left, the right, and even the libertarian side.

I took that one popular graph quiz a few weeks ago and it put me at like -2.5 and -2.5, or a little left and a little libertarian, but I'm not sure how well that represents me because there were a few issues I don't feel I know enough about or I legitimately do not care about, and some I would've liked to legitimately give a neutral response to (as opposed to most of them where I'd like to give one out of principle). Certain leftist principles are still good for my family's well-being, so I don't intend to let go of those.

I've been thinking lately about how there's another axis and it seems to be more relevant in the modern US and much of the modern world– one that runs from liberal to conservative. People often conflate this with left and right, or sometimes with libertarian and authoritarian or a combination of those axes, but it really seems like its own thing to me. If I absolutely had to make a choice I'd say I lean more liberal, because I think things can always get better and experimentation is important (and I am a bit of a bleeding heart, wanting to save the world and so on), but I do recognize that keeping the status quo is often the safest thing, not to mention being cheap and comfortable. That recognition puts me in or at least near the center again.

So I ask you: What am I? What are you? What should we strive to be, and by what measure should we be judged as being that or being something else?

Welcome aboard.

puta madre… that anime has moments of awesome, but I think it's too moe/"modern" for me

I can't wait for IBO season 2…

hue

Don't fucking do this again.

I didn't want to derail this thread with anime shit, but you've forced my hand.

Lurk more faggot.
Hint: it's called national-socialism.

that doesn't tell me much

It actually says everything you dumb nigger.
Lurk more.

Abandon hope ye who enter this place, also, welcome.

Well, I generally believe leftism is shit as a whole. It's yet to work at all, so tell me, what about it do you agree with? If you can't be more specific, I can't possibly know where to begin.

a faggot

It means you're a faggot
a faggot who needs his labels and is likely a fence sitter

What is a bundle of sticks, Alex?

How do you expect me to not ridicule you? That is a serious question. What is the last book you read? Documentary?

Your at lolbertarian right now, which many of us go through to avoid the cold hard truth of human nature and reality. Don't make another thread for at least 6 months and lurk.

Just waking up, 'getting in touch with your masculine side'. First steps to becoming more than an animal.
Blind guides to the path of light.
Strive to be good. Do not fear nor seek judgement, but be the judge. One can not love others or themselves without hating the 'sin', and so judgement is a necessity. The measure is the ideal person you can imagine. You will fail, again and again, to meet that measure. Hardly a human alive will have ever met that measure. The point is to strive for it actively. Not passively. Good faith in acting on good will.

Turn back now if you have doubts. Nobody here ever 'goes back' to 'normal' after learning all of the things there are to learn here. We don't talk politics, we find truth. Honest to god, no two ways about it, objective reality. The truth is a painful and bitter thing, it hurts in the way of a lost child. It fills the void with laughter and reveals the sun has been veiled since before your birth.
Hitler did nothing wrong, and what you think he did is the 'big lie told over and over'. The entirety of Christendom is actively aiding the pharisees of the new testament. The European Union was founded for the purpose of destroying European culture and dominance. Africans really are objectively stupid at a genetic level. Woman will never quite be 'equal' thanks to their emotions being hardwired into their reasoning. Poland stronk. The Arab Spring was astroturfed from beginning to end. South Korea is almost as bad a place as the North. Beer hops mimic estrogen, causing beer belly and early menstruation.
No empire has lasted more than 250 years, averaging 240. The U.S.A. is 240 as of July 4th.
And the worst part? It's all going to be okay.

You are a conformist, user.
You don't wanna see the truth that right and left means another trick to divide and conquer. Another tactic to divide people from what really matters, because no matter the side, the Jew will stand in both.
Cuckservatives from one side, Communist and Liberals in the other.
Libertarianism is another philosophy crafted by Jews. There is no free market when it gets controlled by high money and global corporations. It's always intrusive. Usury will still exist. Debt slavery will still exist.

If you say this out loud you will be probably branded a Nazi and be in a very uncomfortable place. Something that looks like is one of your major fears.
You need comfort. You need to keep juggling your values because of your family security.
That's why you're a conformist.

Nice blogpost you've got there.

A faggot.

This is new to me. Especially the South Korea bit, I always knew it was a shithole but not on the levels of the north. Elaborate please?

You're a big guy!

I'm CIA.

It doesn't matter who we are: what matters is our plan.

What's next, are you gonna tell us that bullets from a machinegun can kill many people? Don't listen to your dick? That fire burns shit?

And there's the problem.
Until we can form a society where TRUTH is GOD, we will continue in decline.
Self interest over adherence to TRUTH is the lever (((they))) use to control us.

welfare
I have close relatives who have physical or mental problems (sometimes both) that make it difficult or impossible for them to hold a job

the last one I finished was a cut-down version of the Canterbury Tales, currently reading a book of Greek mythology

you both remind me of some of those people I talked about– everything sounds great when it's all about principles, but once you really get into what you believe as far as politics and social issues it all sounds awful (except for Poland stronk)
still, you've given me things to think about

he's being facetious. a glance at their life expectancy and median income will tell you the two koreas are light years apart.

that being said SK is still a very autocratic country

Welfare is not the answer to that problem, it just opens the door to all sorts of things that are degenerative, and you should know better by now if you've actually thought about it.

Frankly, you sound like an idealistic moron who cannot or will not accept the hard truths of reality.

Holy shit go back to >>>/reddit/ you absolute faggot.

If you can't recognize this as
DATAMINING 101
you need to re-read the sticky

Also, why the fuck aren't they banned on sight

I'm trying to say I'm one of you at all, and I'm not asking for explanation of anything. I'm trying to have a conversation about what's the right path (or really, what the right paths are) and how it can and should be differentiated from others (different spectra of philosophy).
