This is the shit that my local grassroots Dem Bernie supporters are telling everyone. I'm not a Hillbot telling people to stop supporting him *entirely* right now, but be prepared to when he starts campaigning for Hillary.
The vice-chair of DSA's open letter to Bernie supporters. DSA is now becoming right-liberal.
"All of which is to say that if the Sanders Revolution is ever to come to fruition, the Bernie Brigades will have to vote for and work for Hillary Clinton’s election in the fall." […] "I write this as a strong Sanders supporter (albeit one who never thought he could win the nomination), as a lifelong democratic socialist" "But now, what is arguably the most successful left campaign in the nation’s history stands in danger of being undone by an infantile fraction of its own supporters. The threats of violence, the shouting down of such lifelong liberals as Barbara Boxer, and the growing desire of some in the campaign, both on its periphery and at its core, to walk away from the real prospect of building left power by refusing to work with allies and potential allies in the Democratic Party" "Over the past 48 hours, the Bernie Sanders campaign has all but eclipsed its own message." prospect.org/article/how-bros-are-undermining-bernie
(Pic is not of vice-chair) If you have any aversion to campaigning for Hillary, at some point, if it's after the California convention, you gotta leave the campaign, because it will turn into the Hillary campaign.
For those of you who only peripherally follow the Sanders campaign, Sanders has said hundreds of times he will support the Democratic nominee, even though sometimes he says Clinton has to prove herself to his followers. After he concedes, he will campaign hard for Clinton.

wat?

This circlejerking about 'immature bernie bros' is part of the neoliberal feminist narrative that we need to give up everything to support the drive towards more woman CEOs and bathroom rights for all
Benjamin Myers
I wish there was a single dedicated thread for the US elections bullshit
Joshua Price
There is, but this is fundamentally more about DSA more than Sanders, even though OP went on a lot about the campaigns.
Levi Peterson
He does mention that the "bernie bros" narrative is based on false assumptions later in the article. But he uses it anyway. 2 faced piece of shit.

Harold Meyerson is a worthless cocksucking Democrat shill that should fucking kill himself.
Brandon Perry
This should come as no surprise. The only consistent thing about SocDems is that they consistently betray real socialists.
Matthew Kelly
Hardly surprising. Any party that fails to proclaim itself as communist, in favor of abolishing private property, and strongly against reformism is doomed to degenerate. The left has always been plagued by a naive tendency to underestimate just how easily the forces of capital destroy the most meager attempts at change. The DSA have always been staunchly anti-communist bourgeois socialists, anyone that takes them seriously is an enemy.
Gabriel Long
Good Workers! Raise support for the Democratic party!
Isaiah King
The whole bathroom thing is an issue started by Republicans, not Democrats. It's meant to get everyone on the right to fall in line and not wander too far off the reservation.
Jayden Brown
Granted, but it's just another shot in the culture war between Hollywood liberals and right wing wastes designed to keep us away from economic issues, attacking poverty and reinforcing the safety net would do far more to alleviate gay suffering than anything in the last century but of course that doesn't benefit rich old queens so who cares.
Aaron Hughes
*last decade I mean, decriminalising homosexuality was pretty important. but stuff like gay marriage was pointless and channeled untold millions away from good causes.
Owen Mitchell
I consider myself a BernieBro (though since I'm not American, I can't vote for him). I'm a white heterosexual male social democrat. Bernie Bros are fed up with feminazi, BBC, La Raza, Kebab, "Learn my pronouns" IDpol. The Bernie Bros phenomenon is a manifestation of white heterosexual male socdem rage against our marginalization within the Democrat party. And it's about fucking time that we spoke up.
Fuck the Clintons. I hope Donald Trump takes the presidency. I am fed up fam. Hillary isn't going to give us well-paying jobs. She isn't going to give us a basic income. She isn't going to give us free tuition and free health care. So we might as well vote for Donald Trump. Sure the Republicans will scrap Obamacare, cut back social security, cut back SNAP (food stamps), cut back welfare and disability, cut back public services, etc. But voting for Hillary is just a defensive maneuver, not an offensive one.
If Hillary loses, the Democucks will be left with egg on their face and be forced to re-group and change course for 2018 and 2020. The socdem wing of the Democrat Party will come back stronger than ever in 2018 and 2020 as the baby boomers die off (good riddance) and the Millennials make up a larger portion of the voter base.
I'm hoping that we get our own Bernie Sanders here in Canada. I want to start my own political party run for office in Ontario in 2018 and Canada in 2019. I jokingly considered calling it the NEET Party of Ontario/Canada and having Comfy Pepe wearing a Toque with the Canadian Maple Leaf as our Party logo. Or the Freeter Party of Ontario/Canada.
Calling it the Worker's Party would be kinda like a sick joke since a growing number of people here can't get jobs and are chronically unemployed. Including myself. Even if by some miracle I could get a job, minimum wage pays shit and you are expendable to porky. Not productive enough? You're gone. Customer complains about you? You could be gone. In 2013, about 20% of males aged 25-29 and 16% of males aged 30-34 were not employed. And those figures are even higher now. Maybe I could call it the Precariat Party. But that might sound too cheesy.
I looked at all the paperwork and requirements needed to form a political party in Ontario/Canada. You need to hire a licensed auditor and everything (you can't do it yourself even if you become a licensed auditor). And there are strict rules for campaign finance. And if I'm in the political limelight, I have to deal with lots of bullshit obviously from IDpol SJWs and conservatives. Who will inevitably harass and do violence against my family and myself.
David Torres
This triggers me.
I remember when you could safely call DSA actually Democratic-socialist (not Sanders "democratic-socialism"). Looks like it's now abandoned left-social-democracy as an neoconservative, neoliberal supporting organization.
Joshua Hill
I think the DSA is just terrified of the possibility of a Donald Trump presidency. So they feel that we are better off voting for the lesser of two evils.
What they don't realize is that the Democrat Party will not fundamentally change unless Hillary Clinton loses. If the Democrats get BTFO this fall, the party will be forced to re-evaluate the direction of the party.
Think of it as like "tanking" in the NBA or NHL. Where management of failing NBA/NHL teams trade established veterans on their team for draft picks and get worse in the short-term so that they can increase their chances of getting a solid draft pick. Sometimes your team has to get worse in order to get better.
Liam Long
Or you could just side-step the whole process and boycott the election or support Jill Stein/ Green-Party.
The right doesn't have nearly the venomous hatred and fear of the Libertarian Party as the Dems do for the Green Party. And it now looks like if there's going to be a third-party here in our plurality system like in Canada or in the UK, it's going to be the goddamn Libertarians. And honestly they are *much* more horrible than the Republicans.

The people who think this share something with Donald Trump's supporters: they've fallen for the "Donald Trump" meme.
The Republican establishment hated Donald Trump at first because he basically made his platform everything that was turning the party into a fucking joke. They wanted Jeb to be their Clinton: some who could talk the talk so no one noticed he wasn't walking the walk. The fact is the same racist bullshit people fear under Trump will still happen under Clinton, liberals can just ignore it though because she'll feel bad about it or something.
The idea that Trump is some wildcard, some crazy cowboy who'll do whatever he wants damn the consequences should he be president is exactly what he wants everyone to think. But Trump's not a wildcard, he's just a fucking idiot. And even that may be buying into the Trump "meme."
The fact is a Trump presidency would hardly be much of a deviation from the current course.

I am not Holla Forums, I just want to put food on the table, have a roof over my head, access to medical care, etc. I just don't give a fucking shit about feminists, blacks, latinos, Muslims, gays, etc. I'm about getting mine first and foremost. Like every other rational human being on the planet.
David Johnson
I agree, one more time for the world
William Kelly
Yeah it would make more sense to vote for Jill Stein/Green Party. Though doing so will hand the election to Donald Trump anyway. Since the Electoral College + First-Past-the-Post makes it impossible for third-parties to be competitive.
I think it's just Schadenfreude on my part to want to see Donald Trump win. To spite Hillary Clinton, the DNC, Barbara Boxer, #blacklivesmatter, Tumblr, Trigglypuff and every other SJW under the sun.
I actually did vote for the Green Party in Canada. lol. They are head-deep into IDpol but they have a basic income policy so I held my nose and voted for those hippie bastards. I feel dirty knowingly voting for SJWs. But I didn't have a viable alternative sadly. Unless I run for office myself. Since every social democrat candidate on the ballot here is an IDpol faggot.
Brody White
The problem with politics is that lines are divided culturally more than fiscally these days.
Culturally, I have more in common with libertarians than Democrats. I hate conservatives but I FUCKING hate liberals.
But voting libertarian goes against my class interests.
There's no home for you when you fall within that camp. Where you chuckle whenever libertarians and conservatives take the piss out of SJWs. But you roll your eyes when they talk economics…
Ethan Barnes
DSA has like thousands of vice-chairs doesn't it? IIRC some were even supporting Hillary in the primary.
Article is retarded idpol though. I won't vote for Hillary Clinton (or at all, most likely, though I did vote for Bernie in the primary) but I will spend election night lapping up Holla Forums tears if she wins (or liberal Twitter tears if Trump wins).
Ryder Rogers
you're a faggot is what you are
Nathaniel Williams
There are 7-8 of them, and yeah some of them even supported Hillary when Bernie was running. They've been operating as a Bernie campaign office basically for the last few months, and now they're trying to shove their members into the Hillary campaign.
Harold Meyerson is one of the more vocal representatives of DSA, loves to throw he dumb credentials around, and is the executive editor at The Prospect. His only real credentials are being the son of more sane and respected people.
Ian Wilson
will you Canadian idiot stop posting. pleeeaaase.
The Green Party doesn't care about being spoilers. And if you've been paying attention the god-awful social-darwinist Libertarian party is filling their void for competing at capitalizing on the implosion of the Dem and Repub parties.
If the Dems stopped being so paranoid about the Green Party, we won't have fucking U.S. Liberarians in congress in 2024.
Jose Reed
I read a Ralph Nader article recently on Daily Kos. And the commentators there were mostly like "Ralph, go away." Democucks are still butthurt about 2000. lol.
I can't wait until the Democrats get spanked in November. The look on their face Nov 4th will be priceless. They care more about sucking black cock than doing anything for the working-class. Fuck them.
The language, at least on the DSA website, seems to suggest that the honorary and vice chairs are little more than titular positions within the DSA framework.
Justin Williams
They will continue to blame anything and everything but themselves.
Drag the limp bodies, rotten bodies of the 2 parties to the garbage and replace them with the Green Party, Socialist Alt, and Socialist Party USA. Then I will die a happy woman.
Levi Brown
those falling future prices on the bottom right XD
Robert Adams
Why don't we start a socially concervative socialist party?
Jackson Russell
If by that you mean non-social-jutice-warrior that's impossible because social justice means: "justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and muh privileges within a society." So we are all social justice warriors, just maybe not the right wing reframing of it.
you're going to have to be really specific about that, and keep in mind that feminism started out as a socialist theory so it's inexoriably tied to people that look for socialist parties, you'd have to close down your party so much.
A good strategy would be like a southern populist socialism, which doesn't have to fit all the criteria of Republican conservatism, but just enough to make southerners open to wealth redistribution again.
