We've had this thread dozens of times.
The problem is that people on Holla Forums are incredibly paranoid of each other (see: rampant accusations of shills, trolls, FBI, etc), have a hard time committing (see: all failed attempts to organize a magazine, expeditions, etc), prone to conspiracy theories or the sort of dialogue that is quickly rejected by the mainstream because it's too fringe/extreme (open embrace of fascism/nazism), and so forth.
The only way two ways this board would ever organize into a coherent political force:
1. Through means of force or persuasion. Literally a strongman from Holla Forumslacks to lead them. Given the rampant lack of agreement, this is unlikely.
2. Decentralized action, which is more or less what we do now, but with more concrete goals and means of implementing action. Ad-hoc Twitter bomb efforts, carefully crafted memes, popularization of news/articles/stories that are being ignored by the mainstream press, etc. I'm hedging my bets on this being more likely.
In fact, I say we put Holla Forums's ability to the test. Let's create a meme and see how far we can spread it through the Internet in the space of, say, one month.
One of the earliest memes in history was "Carthago delenda est", meaning "Carthage must be destroyed". The Roman senator Cato the Elder used it at the end of all his speeches, and even sometimes in every day conversation, even if the subject had nothing to do with Carthage. It caught on, and eventually grew into an popular mood. By hearing it so often, people started thinking for themselves "Carthage must be destroyed."
In fact, this meme was brought back briefly in recent history. When Google rolled out Google Plus, Facebook shut everything down and called an emergency meeting. Zuckerberg himself brought back the meme and used it as a rallying cry. It worked to such an effect that…well… who uses Google Plus?
(for more on that, see: archive.is/5gwxt)
So why not repurpose this meme? Let's say Holla Forums created "Carthage must be destroyed" memes and images regarding Hillary, and spread them around in support of Trump. How far would this spread? How successful would this be in rallying people?
Should we try?
