I'd be more excited but then i remember Prometheus being one of the top 10 worst blockbusters ever released.

It wanted to answer the meaning of life while being a dumb slasher flick.

With Covenant it looks like they're just going straight slasher.

So this is the sequel to prometheus?

Yes.

It doesn't look like it's continuing the story.

it's not a direct continuation, they decided to skip shaw and david on the engineer homeworld out of fear of upsetting fans more and just did a soft reboot.

did a soft reboot while continuing from the prometheus point in the timeline, forgot to add that. just know that shaw is dead and david eventually shows up, then gets into a fight with the walter unit because he's seen as corrupted or something.

Prometheus was good. It's mainly hated by autistists who had spaz attacks over one or two plot holes that were the result of scenes being edited out or switched around for the theatrical cut. Not being autistic, I enjoyed the movie a lot.

Those are extremely valid reasons

the deleted scenes fix them up though. do yourself a favor and find the fan edit that puts them back in, it makes for a much better movie. the real problem is lindelof.

I was looking forward to fassbenders amazing journey, and that bad british actress too I suppose.

Tell me about the guy in the middle! Why does he wear the tail?

Me too, I thought we were finally out of the xenomorph swamp and would get new adventures that didn't just rehash the first film.

Didn't this movie already come out?
I remember reading the entire plot synopsis on wikipedia.

It came out back in 1979.

If Covenant is successful they intend the sequel to it to be a prequel.

H.R Giger might want to die so he can roll in his grave

He's ded, m8.

What I find incredible is how well it has aged. It still holds up, the sets, the special effects, the aesthetics… everything. Aliens looks like pretty much any other action schlock from the 80s but with a high budget but Alien still feels as timeless as ever.

The only other Sci-fi film from the same period that still holds up would be Blade Runner.

And good old Robochump

Where's this from?

SUBTLE
