Meet Zeronet, a p2p decentralized opensource web server that can host any website. They currently have decentralized torrent site, email, messaging, forums and other services that function quite well, for early release.
I tested it out and this seems very promising and well polished, it definitely is worth a try.
You can now create your OWN website and blog whatever for free. Domain registration is free and uses the blockchain I think.
This is the future.
Andrew Sanders
Do anons think this deserves a sticky?
I do.
Jace Davis
Seems pretty cool. Lets hope it takes off.
Isaiah Peterson
Looks fucking sketchy mate
Carter Ward
How do they get funding?
Aiden Wood
This is nothing more than decentralized storage and http-through-gateway storage. It has nothing to do with anonymity.
Almost all decentralized networks published so far still need things like VPN or Tor, which both can and have been nuked by state actors.
The only thing these concepts help with is preventing movie kikes from shilling DMCAs because sites can't be taken down easily, but still possible.
I was involved in IPFS and do some occasional peering for SAFE Network (Maidsafe, the true next step in anonimus shittery) and we are far away from what OP likes to shill around here.
Ian Martinez
Cool. This might be quite useful with a project…
I hope we get better mods if this Holla Forums v2 lifts off.
Nicholas Edwards
you mean 8ch.pl?
Luke Diaz
I'm not good at technology, why does it boot up Explorer?
John Wood
I meant that this is suspicious.
Nicholas Powell
Nigger, I said it was interesting. I'm very cautious of this sort of thing because of how easily it can be taken advantage of by pedofags
Daniel Cox
A podcast is suspicious? What?!
Adam Barnes
We know what it is, you faggot. If you're not using a VPN yet, then you're probably retarded.
Blake Evans
VPN doesn't even fully protect you because VPNs are likely to have your information as you're paying for the service.
Noah Morales
I mean something that's on another level, can't be taken down easily and independent of funding by cripples and masons. Or crazy sketchy Poles. There's another mod cuck thread posted for fucks sake.
Anthony Stewart
It is not user, if you want to be user use TOR or a VPN.
This is nothing more than decentralized storage and http-through-gateway storage
Implying that is not massive. If you can host text and images what more do you need?
Tyler Young
Sounds like an i2p knock off.
Julian Lewis
Nothing fully protects you, but it's better than nothing.
Noah Williams
All you fags, talking about it without giving it a try. Try it and comment, with screenshot, if not STFU.
Jaxson Morris
Are you the developer or something? Hired by him?
You've put out the info, let people talk about it if they want
Gavin Wilson
Start by making a hatechan clone and we can use it as a bunker for now. If it proves to be a good system, then people will move over there naturally
Eli Hernandez
Domainers will steal all the domains and try to sell them.
Liam Phillips
That project turned out to be a TOTAL FAILURE.
I used it and us "luddites" need something simple.
This zeronet is really easy to use, 1 click install. A lot better than IPFS
Matthew Bailey
Nope just an amateur, see the post where I link to the podcast.
Lincoln Edwards
You're shilling breddy fuggin hard for a disinterested amateur.
Colton Hughes
excited amateur
Imagine seeing p2p torrent capability for the first time or bitcoin for the first time
If this doesn't get you excited you are fucking retarded.
Adam Baker
Need to dig and find out who is behind this. L2P was doped because we found out it was ran or given over to kikes Cant remember witch and Tor is eh to me as there is too much shilling from both sides to make me feel safe using it.
Gavin Fisher
thank you dubs for confirmation bias once again
Isaac Torres
Will illegal content (cheese pizza) be passing through my network?
Blake Sullivan
Obviously. That's my hesitation.
Jeremiah Sanders
I did my part, let the community decide.
If you are scared go check out the source code. It's opensource you can analyze it yourself.
Brandon Johnson
It would definitely be a deal breaker. Pedophiles will run to the ground anything to do with decentralization and anti-censorship.
Lincoln Campbell
Aye, thank you for sharing a potentially cool thing.
Jaxon Brooks
Source code for those interested.
I can't confirm because I don't know much about computers.
You can ask the programmers themselves at their IRC,
How do I site up a site? I have no previous experience of programming but I used to be a Global Vol. also this thread will be probably bumplocked soon because it's not politics related
There is Holla Forums v2s, such as 8ch.pl and 16chan.nl and both will soon be part of the nntp decentralisation thing, if you made a zeronet Holla Forums do NOT give it any of the current mods of Holla Forums, moonman & imkampfy are controlled oppisition shills and therealmoonman even faps to fucking my little pony shit. and the owner of Holla Forums is a litteral kike Jim.
Also the maddowposter (pic related) is a vol.
of course
Aaron Jackson
Which is why you pay with Bitcoin that you hopefully bought anonymously.
Also highly doubtful any good VPNs store your payment info after they have received it.
Technically they have your "true" IP since you are connecting through them but they claim they don't store that info.
Caleb Perry
Right now, they got really basic sites up and running.
You need to read the documentation, this is what I found. If you want to join up and work together to build something cool. My id on the network is 72, once you set up the email service just type 72 and message me.
Why do you faggots care whether pedos are spreading their porn? That's the price of truly free internet.
Are you those faggots who are glad that Holla Forums got cucked by Jim?
Daniel Taylor
I think they care because if it's p2p, that means we all host the content on the internet, so if CP material that might put us at risk.
This is what I understand their fear to be.
Lincoln Howard
I would like to have an index of files, would that be good?
I am installing zeronet now.
Jordan Foster
If you don't consider IPFS simple, you should rethink your life, son.
And besides, pretty much every attempt of protection will be more complex in a world where kikes control everything and only goyim activities will have the boon of being 'fool proof'.
If you think that handling things like IPFS, proxy mixers or generic coding is something out of bounds, you might as well go heil hitler in front of Merkel's Pony Wonderland Mansion
Jack Carter
Join my discord channel to discuss how to get it up and running I don't know what you mean by index files.
Getting butthurt because luddite thinks IPFS sucks.
You need to rethink your life when you get offended over such dumb shit.
Charles Turner
No. I like being offended. It reminds me that not only niggers deserve the oven.
Kevin Mitchell
Several things.
There's a huge recrudescence of security projects, promising us the moon, and delivering something broken every single time. They all have stylish websites, fancy names and logos, and it's generally closer to "marketing" than a basic sourceforge project page. They're made by nobodies, and they provide things that are either impossible with current technology, or simple alternate networks/protocols that provide no advantage over the real internet over than being an alternative, which also divides the user base. They're also distributed as a complete suite when any developer would make those separate versatile components chained together, providing more options rather than locking you out to one.
As a security freak, this triggers me hard. Why are there so many people pushing new technologies when my current ones work pretty well? Two answers so far: jews want to steer us away from proven technologies towards backdoored shit they control, or people looking for profit and hoping to be the creators of the next big thing, whether through reputation or power.
We don't need this. We need to create human networks that are hard to infiltrate, build internet forums on top, and learn to disappear quickly and without a trace. We've done this for decades against bigger odds, and we still go on. No need for some unproven software that does nothing new. I also doubt it's decentralized, probably just distributed, which are two hugely different things: decentralization means loss of control from the creators, and they don't want that either way.
Be very wary user, we cannot trust anyone those days, especially not those giving you "trusted tools" that come out of nowhere. Neither should you trust me, but use your judgement and you'll see I'm right.
Eli Collins
There is another one that uses pure blockchain (all pages are stored on the blockchain) afaik
maidsafe i think its called?
James Gray
If you run it you instantly become a server of other peoples content, and unlike other solutions said content is not stored encrypted on your hard drive - thus leaving every user open to a potential v& situation in quick order.
Jace Rivera
So the real thing we need to do is legalize child porn. Until we do the FEDs will always have something to hold over our heads.
Chase Kelly
I think we all remember this fiasco
Carson Bennett
Haha alright, I hope you know how fucking pathetic you look to everyone reading.
You remind me of trigglypuff getting hard-cored triggered over nothing.
Blake Jones
The way it's advertised on its homepage screams bullshit to me. There is hardly any information beyond marketing blurbs, the design is typical hipster.js shit and the way OP is acting in here is not helping.
Where the hell is the spec for that thing? I'm not going to run some "code is spec" crap from random nobodies.
Kayden Nelson
Oh well, that's what I get for not refreshing before I post.
Brayden Reed
Then don't, no one gives a shit. I don't care, if not of you fucks use it. Really couldn't give a shit.
Do want you want, and shut up. I just wanted to share it because some Holla Forums like it. We are a few fucking around with it already.
Luis Scott
I think you're probably involved in running that site somehow and that this thread is advertising.
Hunter Perez
I don't care, if none* of you fucks use it
Kayden Cook
Come now, user. We can all see that you care very much.
I might have checked this out had you not been such a whining needy faggot.
Elijah Allen
ok
Julian Carter
You can shit on it, all you like. Like I said I don't care.
Anyway I am fucking around with this new tech. Im out of this thread.
Isaiah Gonzalez
It's free software with the GPLv2 licence. Nice. This could end up in every Linux distribution's repositories.
Nathan Parker
and holohoax and IS terrorist threats, etc.
Maybe newfags like Hillary will use the email server, but other than that it's just a waste of fucking time and resources.
James Torres
...
Grayson James
I'm taking bets on when he'll return and whether he'll make a new thread pretending to be someone else.
Levi Roberts
I'll take 3:1 on tomorrow, hour of venus, his time.
Mason Williams
I only use Jackpoint.
Asher Lewis
You clearly don't follow the decentralization community. There are new products coming out. Its nonsensical to think like you do about this.
Thanks for the info by the way, OP.
Cooper Russell
Honestly, how many faggot kikes do they have pressing F5 all day long?
Jace Fisher
If it's one IP, how is it decentralized? Take out their redirection server and poof it's fucking gone.
Ryder Mitchell
You're changing your IP too much, chaim.
NOBODY CARES
If it's not about the election, about hildog being shit or about muh whyte womyn. Nobody gives a damn.
Go be a TOR=PEDO SOMEWHERE ELSE
Christopher Hughes
Not a kike shill here, sometimes I like to first post in threads with something Jewish sounding because it instantly rouses the tinfoil hatters to post 5-6 times and bumps the thread that I actually want to gain visibility. Think strategically folks.
Parker Myers
so basically you install a bittorrent client you control onto the goys PC and then use their Internet connection to host the sites.
no thanks.
Grayson Ramirez
Good point. No publication - into the trash it goes.
Seems like there's no option to not host anything.
Kevin Lopez
Why? Is this good for bitcoin?
Nathaniel Williams
Honestly, that's the way networks like these should work. One of the major problems with Tor exit nodes is that there is no reason to run one if you are not going to mess with the traffic. Expecting a decentralized network to run on goodwill is naive.
Sebastian Jones
Seems like its giving its users an easy way to get vanned for hosting illegal or copyrighted content
Probably will be used for when the government needs a good reason to jail someone for wrong think
Also lol at the 35 odd posts by op
Leo Flores
My thoughts exactly. The FAQ is barely twice that of the donation page, that's how bad it is.
And you're right indeed. First rule is, you cannot fully decentralize shit on the internet. They rely on DHTs which are only distributed, not decentralized. Even if it was decentralized, it still couldn't be anonymous and secure at the same time. Neither is it possible with reliability, integrity, and other fun points which we may as well totally ignore because the base promise is impossible so attain. They have no fucking understanding of what they're doing. I'm almost tempted for fork their shit and make it truly decentralized just for the laughs. But I can't even find the code of their open source project.
It sounds more like a honeypot than anything, and they don't even provide the most basic schematic of how it fucking works. We really don't need need any such software, let alone one with an auto-installer on Windows as the first fucking download.
I'm thinking we need more to educate anons on how computers, networks and the internet works so they better understand how it works. It may sound crazy, but it really doesn't take much knowledge to establish about any kind of server, whether IRC, imageboard, newsgroup or email. Networking (as in networking people) is easy, and it's exactly what we need to do, with the tools we have today what you need to learn how they work, not with some new tool no one knows how it works.
Xavier Hall
Dropped
Bentley Parker
Perhaps there should be a general or sticky about technology, for users. Or we should try to go here
>>>/poltech/
Justin Walker
filtered for being a dumb nigger who can't into safety enjoy your aids and windows 10, kid
What the hell are you on about? I'm talking about this ZeroNet, not some election.
Jaxson Price
Seems like stored websites are not encrypted unless you encrypt them yourself.
Connor Anderson
Maybe we could organize/discuss such a write-up on /poltech/, civil discussion is easier on slow boards.
Jackson Parker
I'm not much of a Holla Forums guy I just like reading about the shit, with the recent kat death I was wondering how feasible torrenting through i2p+ipfs was (I read a few times on Holla Forums this was going to be a good anonymous p2p solution) I know nothing about the i2p network or how ipfs works, so is that feasible now or in the future? excuse me if I just sound like a fucking retard
Jackson Cook
Turn it in to a social media site and kill the old social media
Camden Williams
It's kat.am now I don't know how legit it is though.
((((((((they))))))) always go for mainstream summer blockbuster uploaders/seeders. pirate old/obscure shit and (((((((((((((they))))))))))))) wont bother sending black hawks after you.
Aaron Torres
Gosh, I dunno, maybe, just maybe, where not sociopaths.
Gavin Bennett
bad performance + shit developers + too few eyes on the code + shitty plattform
Sollutions like ipfs or upcomming SAFE Network from Maidsafe are great for resisting takedowns but do not guarantee anonymity. It has nothing to do with these projects themselves, it's because they still rely on upper layer of networking (TCP/IP).
Solutions for distributed file sharing which also provide some form of anonymity will have to work on lower network levels (subvert IP protocol), but they are far away from implementation.
Until I would recommend using IPFS along with a VPN/TOR, you should rather focus on existing shit like Torrents from sites like Rutracker, Extratorrent, PirateGoy, Soulseek (great client for music + flac), ofc with VPN/Proxies.
Isaac Brooks
The Daily Stormer uses Cloudflare.
Ayden Wright
So does Holla Forums, 4chan and most sites, the only *chans without cuckflare is 16chan and Librechan.
Noah Lewis
and that's because very few people use them.
I was on Holla Forums back in 2014 when the cripple disconnected the site from Cloudflare, it was fucking terrible.
Leo Walker
16chan works fine and has consistently been up.
Zachary Evans
Could you elaborate on i2p? I'm aware that the main implementation is written in Java and its spec is derived from the implementation (which is only a sliver better than code-is-spec), but aside from that my knowledge is rather superficial. It seemed like a nice alternative to Tor.
Matthew Gonzalez
I wanted to ask - I don't use VPNs or anything. Is it really that dangerous to shitpost on 8/pol/ or is it paranoia?
Jaxson James
Only if you're worried about schlomo or bubba wranglers reading what's going from your cable/phone line to x server
Christian Wright
or coming from x server to your computer
Juan Richardson
But, it still uses internet from the ISP, right?
The next step would be to somehow use WI-FI directly.
Christian Ross
Because it has about 10 people posting.
It's paranoia.
Though if you're paranoid you can always torpost.
Jack Powell
Can they see what you write on tor or just what you visit?
Matthew Ramirez
use it just in case.
Logan Torres
The source code looks cancerous. It's already unmaintainable Python soup.
Wyatt Sanchez
They can see that you connected to x user that then connected to x user that then connected to x server with
Levi Gonzalez
They can only see that you're using Tor.
It's why it's so popular with drug dealers and pedos.
The entire thing is fucking stupid, 10mb bittorent websites running off home internet connections.
wew. Good luck fixing this when things go pearshaped
Wyatt Roberts
Ideally, neither. In practice, there have been attacks where they could see who you are connecting to by observing the timing of connections. If they also observed the timing of Tor posts on the site, they might be able to identify you. These attacks are claimed to be fixed now, but who knows, there may be other weaknesses in Tor.
Obviously, this is only a problem against attackers who can see the entire (or relevant parts of the) network, but security depends on who you are defending against. I wouldn't rely on Tor alone if you are going up against the US.
Anthony Hall
For 99% of people that aren't going to use those costly tactics, if you aren't ISIS or you aren't uploading videos of you fucking your children then they won't go to the effort.
John Walker
huh, this could work
Hunter Sullivan
most important question where are the nazi frog downloads
Joseph Bennett
I find it pretty risky to base security on "they wouldn't bother". They won't bother until they do. You are probably right though, you'd have to be specifically targeted for the time being.
Daniel Bailey
i2p is not an alternative, freenet neither, considering the people behind these projects. Both suffer from practically non-existent audits. The concepts might be good but concepts are of no use if there are not enough eyes on the code.
and besides java :^)
Angel Baker
Wasn't this exactly what Kim Dotcom wanted to do? I guess he's actually not making it open source and adding encryption to it.
Ryder Nelson
The idea is important, but this implementation is garbage, just like the rest. We need one small group of competent people to do this, instead of a hundred small groups of complete fucking retards competing to do it.
Sebastian Diaz
...
Jaxson Mitchell
The idea is good, but the way of developping websites on it is one of the most unoptimized garbage i've ever seen.
Robert Adams
Its not anonymous, thus the jews will be able to find anyone who posts there. In the long run it wont be a good place for ultimate freedom of speech, for people trying to escape political persecution (this thing wont be able to give germany for example a platform for people to voice their opinions)
So I dont think that its a very good tool at all.
Anonymity, alongside extremely strong protection/encryption of it is a must.
Caleb Taylor
What about them? Incompetence, ((connections))?
>java :^) :^)
John Cox
No offense, but bullshit.
Who funded this? How large was the development team? There's no info page and the (((Shithub))) repos just mention that it's in Budapest. A majority of the spaghetti code seems to have been written (or at least committed) by this guy? archive.is/ibu60 A Turk also seems quite involved archive.is/Dlspe
Why did they sit on this for at least 3 years before posting it here?
Chase Wright
that looks better than the front page of 8ch
Leo Reed
vxb
Austin Wright
It is pure paranoia from people who have an exaggerated sense of their own importance.
Jason Stewart
0chan when?
Chase Martinez
The niggermudlovers. There were some polocks dropping hints on how the tools got so simple the morons are able to tag anyone if you don't build your security firsthand.
You are on a watchlist, and so am I because I did not to do my opsec correctly in the beginning of my shitposting career.
Andrew Sanders
That has to be the most important thing in this thread. I don't think any recent "hidden", "decentralized", or similar buzzword solution is really honest. It's all so shady, and it triggers me as well, there are clearly hidden motives and it cannot be trusted that easily, not before at least three years of use and audit.
Noah Hall
link please, how do I find 0chan?
Austin Martin
How do you even do this? I hear it's really hard to do that and your best bet is buying a gift card and selling it for 1/2 the cost.
Carson Murphy
I'm the one that posted dat boi meme. I feel famous.
Cameron White
This feels fishy. OP's posts doesn't help it ether.
Please forgive my ignorance, but how many similar systems are already there? I2p, ipfs, maidsafe… They all have the same concept in mind: storing content on peers, rather than on a central server, right? What makes zeronet different from others? Is it just ease of access? What are the problems? Since it had no traffic tunneling in mid, the only problem is that traffic isn't encrypted and ISP's can potentially monitor it? Quick search brought this: github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/252. If I understood correctly, you can manually implement file encryption, but easier way of encrypting is also planned.
Jaxson Wilson
you forgot the ancient freenet system
Nicholas Cooper
what possible browser would work like that? we're only at the mercy by disappearing by using a website that isn't owned by jim the penny snatching prink. Unless we have a webmaster who ceremoniously deletes the logs and backup files on the server (enjoy the website being down) every week or so, then they still have all our IPs and possibly, mac addresses. IPs themselves I'm not worried about, since they can only give a broad area of where the IPS is.
completely agree, so what's the solution? We have many anons here who don't have an advanced knowledge of how security routers such as tor or i2p work, yet immediately spook themselves and everyone else when they find out that, gasp! there might be one or two routers which could be operated by any number of intelligence agencies, domestic or potentially foreign. Most people don't understand this, but understand even less, that even if one has a server with an exit node, it's extremely difficult to get an ACTUAL location of the person accessing the server, not just the IP itself. Granted it's not impossible, but it would require quite a bit of stupidity on an user's part to, for example, keep java AND javascript running, or to randomly click links, or to randomly install a downloaded piece of software or file while stil being connected, or using windows of any stripe instead of say, TAILS. Or even more stupid, discussing this all out in the open and perhaps, even bragging about it.
also wholeheartedly agree.
Hudson Kelly
this is true, the paranoia et al is being pushed by the alex jewnsteins of the world. But, might as well learn hwo to use it anyway, right?
Charles Sanchez
can we introduce them to our memes teach hem our ways is it possible?
John Barnes
hello fbi
Asher Hill
We don't want to be fucking vanned.
Carter Reyes
how did you know?
Liam Nguyen
wtf
Kevin Bell
First tor nigger I've ever agreed with.
Please do. I would love a better n2opsec net style. No one in Holla Forums is useful for this beyond Muh lintard, and I simply can not run it on my current systems because of hardware issues I can only fix with ease on windoze
This is not a derailing post, do not respond to this with your "Wintard hate" bullshit
Matthew Cooper
This is never going anywhere. The idea of decentralized web hosting is a fucking bandwidth nightmare and isn't suited to anything more demanding than Geocities-tier pages.
A couple of big-name "illegal" sites like The Pirate Bay will probably be on Zeronet and that's about it.
Also it's going to be slow as balls. And a safety nightmare because peers will actually be hosting websites. Now you won't just download cheese pizza, you'll be hosting it and serving it to other peers.
Sebastian Kelly
So basically, the idea here isn't about keeping pirates and pedos safe - it's not anonymous - but merely is designed to keep itself operational and unable to be taken down by attacks or governments.
Sounds pretty good in that case. 0chan sounds like it could make an interesting bunker should this place fall. No way in hell do I trust 8ch.pl, endchan, or finalchan, and I wouldn't be caught dead posting on Jewchan (also known as 16chan).
I'll save this for a rainy day.
Nolan Clark
That's exactly what a standard imageboard is. It was never meant to be even a fraction of the bloated JavaScript monster that a site like this became. Imageboards are literally web 1.0 living fossils.
Brandon Morris
i hate to break this to everyone… it won't matter
in other news…
i'd still keep going with the project. but the primary function should be hypercard / distributed duplication cache and/or dataset. a focus on browser only is predicted to not be as useful an option as it used to be. time has moved on since 2005…
Nathaniel Powell
forgot to add, obama/chicago/archjew green energy 'initiative' (privatized taxes for jew and bankers held utilities) are finally coming to rapid fruition. it goes without saying, bills will be higher, power outages will be more frequent. gas line disruptions are increasing too… (overload of horrifically underbuilt and partly aging gas pipelines)(accidental vehicular destruction of natural gas distribution centers +/- magical escapes).
so really, just focus on building hardware at this point.
David Gonzalez
nah imageboard for large amounts of users run into a lot of problems that is a bit more than having too much javascript but youre a retard so who cares lol
Jack Thompson
/thread
Xavier Nelson
You fucking retard. Firstly it's piss-easy to use currently if you're not a normalfag that can't into terminal, but beyond that it's intended to be either integrated into the browser, or into the javascript port they're developing.
Ryan Wilson
Inb4 the project gets highjacked by Our greatest ally
Ryan Ward
Oh this was already pointed out to be shit tier spaghetti code by are tech betters.
Colton Wilson
You could upload .webm to some other free service and then have the front-end host link to it.
Hunter Cox
and they have some serious faggotry problems, could be a problem as it's being subverted.
Angel Parker
The term for that is "meshnet".
Christopher Perez
In otherland
they called this kind of thing "tree house"
Charles Collins
Does it mask my IP?
Michael Turner
so wait… we still need an isp right?
Ayden Brown
I don't see the point tbh, especially since I only Holla Forums
