From a subjective standpoint, I could see how that might annoy someone.
If someone asked me in a one-on-one situation not to call people niggers in front of them because they've had a bad experience with the term,"I wouldn't be like, man the fuck up, nigger. Get a thicker skin."
But, strict enforcement of a social norm makes people want to do it more. There's no reason to expect people to take into account others subjective experiences if they have not personally met you. In the context of artistic expression, I've never understood why people would take it seriously. If there's no real ideology behind a word you're personally offended by, it kind of takes the sting out of it for me.

When people use autistic in a disparaging manner, they imply that autistic people are inferior to neurotypicals and are second-class citizens not worthy of the same dignity as everyone else. It's socially acceptable to make fun of autistic people and are discriminated against by society (ie. 80% unemployment rate among adults with Asperger's, which is high-functioning autism). But not socially acceptable to make fun of black people and deny them employment. That's fucking bullshit.

And this mistreatment of autistic adults is the reason why we have Elliot Rodgers, George Sodini's and Breivik's in the world. Elliot Rodger made it all about not getting laid. Why else has there been a huge epidemic surge in autism in the last 35+ years? If not for environmental factors. Like the mercury in vaccines. Parents are having children later in life as well. Old parental age has been linked to autism.

And there are many reports of children being perfectly neurotypical. Until they receive mercury-based vaccines. I used to be a very sociable, neurotypical kid at one point. But then I turned into an autistic terror a little later now. And got diagnosed at 4.
