Holla Forums newfag with a question

Holla Forums newfag with a question.
Do you genuinely like the Phantom menace, or is that just a meme?
I didn't think it was terrible, but I also don't see why it's considered a masterpiece.
Enlighten me and bring me up out of my pleb worldview.

I ironically enjoy the Phantom Menace in the same way that I ironically fap to cuck porn.

Phantom menace was a okay start but not better than Phantom blood.

It's fine.

It is genuine certified kino.

Hating The Phantom Menace is more of a meme imo. The movie was just more of the same campy shit. Jar Jar was like Ewoks 2.0, so people are really overreacting about that, and >muh midiclorians crap is just retarded imo. Lore has absolutely no relevance for Star Wars, no matter how much you kick and scream. In fact, it's certainly an attempt to make The Force a sci fi thing instead of just space majicks.

Liking (or pretending to like) the prequels proves you underage.

fam…

This is not a Holla Forums newfag question at all. I'd wager you are a board regular trying to have a fun.

Both, Holla Forums used to be massive RLM fags who sucked Jay and Mike's dicks just like Reddit. But with their Force Awakens review being overwhelmingly positive while the movie has, and even does, the same mistakes they criticized the Prequels for. Holla Forums started to look back on the entire franchise and began (rightfully) saying that Phantom Menace and the prequels are better than the sequels. This of course lured a bunch of RLM's Holla Forums fans and autistic redditors who began defending the sequel, call out Holla Forums for THEIR hypocrisy", and defend and/or make excuses of RLM's overwhelming praise of the sequel.

Exactly. It gets unfairly trashed by redditors who watched that Red Letter Media joke review and want to be part of the meme. Keep in mind that RLM also praised The Force Awakens, for fucks sake.

I was always one of those people who thought that while the prequels had problems, they weren't nearly as bad as some people said. I think the only major problem with them is that Obi Wan is the only particularly likable character in the main cast. And sure, Anakin was supposed to be a little unlikable, but that doesn't excuse how shit Padme was.

I really want to see Lucas do a Plinkett style review of Space Cop.

One thing I've noticed is that it's both loved and hated by retards.

I just think the other 2 prequels are considered shit because of the acting and sometimes silly plot elements.

They have a much deeper story of politics.

TPM is old enough to drive, drink, vote and buy hookers in many places now

the hell are you babbling about? that wasn't even close to the reasons why it was liked upon reappraisal.

Midiclorians were ok, for the most part the force is still a magical thing, midiclorians was just a way to gauge how more sensitive with the force someone would be. The prequels showed the jedi order in their prime, it really wouldn't be surprising to find out about midiclorians from all the research they must have done with all the technology they had. Whether you like it or not is up to you, but it's far from a huge negative point on the lore.

I liked it a lot when I saw it in theaters.
I still like it, I never got the hate for it.

They think because Watto is a kike stereotype that it's a Holla Forums film, that's why critics trashed it.

Why there are no images itt

Watto's hilarious, but no one actually likes the movie for Watto.

here you go, fam

I never thought they were bad, just not that great either. Just some weird, yet interesting, sci-fi flicks, kind of like the Dune movie. If the OT was a 8/10, the PT is like a 6/10.

...

I post-post-ironically like the Phantom Menace.

Fuck off, retard.

found the newfag trying to fit in. we don't want your kind here.

literally no one on here has defended the cuck awakens, unless they think rogue one was shittier (it wasn't, tfa is the worst).
(checked)
here, have some sheevs to add to your sheev collection.

this man gets it. ot is campy sci-fi that was made in a time where the special effects were all new-edge cutting tools and that greatly drives up the nostalgia factor, the pt is the same but with more computer generated effects, and for some reason it just didn't resonate as well. a majority of star wars fans like all 6, it's the loudmouthed minority group that kick and scream about george murdering their childhood.

I hate star wars but the prequels are better than the originals.

The prequels are dramatically weaker movies in comparison to the original trilogy, partly because of weaker acting, partly due to overuse of CG, partly due to odd directing choices, and on and on.

In comparison to the majority of movies, the prequels aren't bad, they're decent.

But when you already have a groundwork set for an interesting universe and you screw it up, that's seen as just a colossal fuck up.

In retrospect, it's it looks like George was wanting to do multiple stories set in the same timeline that related to a sort of mythical story that became history in Star Wars. He wanted to do the nonsense with the queen/regent/whatever, the stuff with the older generation of jedis, the stuff with the congress, and whatever the fuck else that crossed his mind.

He needed to tone it down and just do a story following one or two people. The prequels likely would have been fantastic had George not tried doing a story set on such a large scale.

If the movies focused on just Anakin then George could have done something like focus on Anakin's challenges. Joining the Jedi order could have been presented as a sort of mixed blessing where Anakin is freed as a literal slave yet feels enslaved by the order as he has to live completely by their rules, which Sheev then offers Anakin a way out that would ultimately lead to his downfall. Other stuff like the trade federation doing their thing could have been done in the background, maybe focusing more on how Sheev is orchestrating it so you care about this fight between the Sith and the Jedi. As it is, you can watch the movies and not feel like it's fitting all that much into the story as done in the original trilogy.

Anyhow, part of why the RLM reviews were so popular was because a lot of people just felt the prequels were kinda 'meh'. They didn't seem great, but no one gave it a lot of thought. So having the variety of little issues with them pointed out that made it worse than it could have been just was a huge eye opener. Because there is some incredible work that was done on those movies that just seemed misused.

I wonder what that cats vagina smells like.
