You have to understand the history of conservatism after WWII. Stalin purged the Communist Party of Jews, including Trotsky, leading to many of them fleeing to Israel and the West. What happened was that the Beltway Right was taken over by these Jewish Trotskyites, who saw the American convervative movement as the most anti-Soviet, and thus their allies.

By the end of the Cold War, the mainstream Right was utterly taken over by Neoconhenservatism, (((supply-side economics))), and Zionist Evangelicals.

Conservatism utterly failed in beating back the Left, and therefore we need an alternative that will serve our interests.
